@BDBLion Correct! My car was a European car imported to the U.S. for the Fiesta Movement. I was one of 100 people that had the car a year before it went on sale in America. Technically, my car was a 2009 Euro-spec car, but for all intents and purposes it was the same aside from homogenization fr the 2011 U.S. car.
I am getting the same car through AAFES' CarExchange program and delivered to Las Vegas from Ford America. Don't pay attention to "luvdausarmy", he's just being an ass for no reason, it can be soldier thing sometimes.
@luvdausarmy I would love to know how to come to the conclusion that I "don't know jack about cars" when I said that the Civic Si had between 75 and 100 more horsepower than my car.
My car has 118. 197 - 118 = 79 horsepower difference.
So, uh, I was pretty spot on? Also, the car had intake and exhaust AT LEAST (that I could see), hence my power range estimate.
Even if I didn't have the exact horsepower memorized on ONE car, would that mean I didn't know jack about cars? Interesting logic.
Edmunds track testing just said the Fiesta is a better autocross car than the Genesis coupe. They said it has a far better clutch, for starters. So maybe the strong performance was more about the car than the drivers after all...
Thanks for the clarification and compliment, but I will kindly disagree that you can't learn anything about the car or tires from this.
If the car and/or tires were crap there simply would be no way I could have run so competitively. Sure, different drivers make it impossible to make apples and apples comparisons, but it is still possible to deduct that the car and tires must at least be better than average to pull off such solid numbers.
Autocross is one of those sports that guys spend YEARS learning before becoming really competitive. Good job dropping so many seconds on your first event, but this review really didn't tell me anything about the tires, or the car for that matter.
I hope that you continue to autocross and have more reviews with autocross, since you can only get better from here.

Is this a Euro-spec Fiesta? The fogs/front bumper look different.

@LoveMyZJ Yes sir, I was one of Ford's Fiesta Movement agents. I had a full-blown German-made Euro Fiesta for 12 months.

It's not a track, it's a parking lot with cones.

It was racing on a track... heh. I guess I was wrong in thinking that qualified as a track day haha.
