I liked the movie as well, especially Hannah's acting but considering that he didnt really transform in the movie Ive been a bit disappointed.

Jekyll didnt transform in the novel either - physically changing appearance was a miss conception created by the black and white films

@Dessan01 Actually, he did, because the novel is narrated by Utterson, who didn't recognize HIS FRIEND Jekyll as Hyde, because he looked so different. The point of the novel was that no one knew who this Hyde character was until the surprise ending, which has been ruined for us in modern time.

@Dessan01 ....Have you read the book? It goes into great detail about the physical transformation when Jekyll turns into Hyde and vice versa. Hyde is described as being smaller than Jekyll and being ugly.

It's been deleted on DVD, I have my copy though heheh ;-) it is quite good.

In this version there is no physical change between Jekyll and Hyde, only mental. So Jekyll sometimes sees Hyde, even though others can not. It's really clever because now viewer has to think "so is it Jekyll in control of the body or is it Hyde?"

Personally, yes. I very much liked this version, though the plot was somewhat all over the place, it had a very creepy atmoshphere and John Hannah was really good in the title roles.
