there are two versions of the Ring: Japanese (called Ringu) and the American. Kenji Kawai did the soundtrack for the Japanese version, whereas for the American, Hans Zimmer did the music... a bit confusing, i know..
otherwise pretty interesting music for a horror movie.
This is a bit cheesy and dated compared to the rest of the soundtrack, which is genuinely chilling and creepy.

Are you sure that this is Kenji Kawai? I guess its song by some other project, despite the fact that its in Ring closing credits.. Im not sure. (?)

kenji kawai does sometimes do unexpected music ehehe. I wouldnt be surprised. red sonja for example had some oriental sound all of a sudden.
