  • Sometimes, desire leads to motivation, while that motivation leads to effort and possible solutions. Yet, how does get someone to get a bigger house, a Ferrari, an attractive woman or a rich handsome man, or someone to turn into an powerful Orc. Honestly, that motivation level is typically not as high as someone who hasn't eaten in a week to get something to eat, or someone who is putting their hard work and soul into their creative endeavors, career, or livelihood. Motivation level pales.

  • Desire is relevant to alot of things. If I'm failing in school, do I simply keep a peace of mind and figure something better will happen. Yes, it actually could, as you could win the lotto or find a good job that doesn't require schooling. You could do well in school by getting better studying and work habits, then graduating and maybe finding the same job with higher pay or something better. While, your chances for winning the lottery, I would think are the same. Calculated risks.

  • Does the player suddenly say to themselves, either happy and relaxed tone, "My team will win a championship, eventually." On the contrary, do they say, "My team and I will go and work substantially more in off-season, while I force the GM out of the office (or leave the team), if he/she doesn't surround us with more talented. Again, both solutions could lead to the same outcome, while it is matter of perspective to which one is better.

  • Yet in another circumstances desire is completely logically and maybe required. One example, I can think of is with sports or any type of competition. Regardless of your talent level, you need desire to push you further in your talents or to help you win. A superstar to a mediocre level quarterback in football or an all-star small forward in basketball can possess and intense desire to win, yet their team is annually out of the playoffs or coming up short in the playoffs.

  • In some senses, I actually think desire is irrelevant to reality, circumstance, and calculated chances/risk. Especially, when it essential say like a theory of the law of attraction, you can receive something that you want or wish for by letting it go, stop wishing for it, or simply prioritize it. In alot of circumstances, that notion is completely unrealistic, like a person wanting to just own a zoo out of thin air, by not desiring it or simply making a wish (and somewhat disregarding it).

  • Desire in my opinion is very romantic. Also now I see it as colouring your future with wishes.

  • ahaha so true! we always like something that's out of our reach---> human nature.

  • Everybody has their way to themselves to be satisfied and have no desire or to have peace of mind , its important to realize that everybody has their own story. I respect yours fully.

  • I'm sorry I'll stop now , I just had nothing to do realy and after seeing your video this story just flew out of me like I was not in control and when I started I thought I had to finish it, but I guess I´m not done yet.. Maybe somewhere else. I´m sorry!

  • For silence you need to be quiet. You can meditate or just consciously say to yourself that you will be quiet. It doesn't mean there is no sound, or that you have no thoughts it just means silence. Your thoughts will rush at first and you'll feel uneasy but thats what drives you to all these unnecessary desires! So just take a shot at doin meditation for about 2 times a day. Start with 20 minutes. Everything else you must desire in this chaotic world will come in silence.

  • Peace of mind you'll only get if you're not hungry or thirsty, you can do longer without food than water but I wanted to remind you about the foundation. What you realy want and what you realy need comes from wise men and knowledge and maybe good music or a good book or teaching or religion or all of them BUT when you get in too all this stuff you're more likely to get confused and have no peace of mind at all. SO real peace of mind comes in SILENCE. What you realy want and need comes in silence

  • Remaining the foundation and keeping love pure will allways stay on top in life and if you have desire in these things first make these things happen before you start using great ammounts of drugs, trowing your money in a slot machine or spending it on a ferrari. When you see how important inner things are you will worry less about appearance and material so you will have less to desire! Solves the problem and is also very logic thinking like you like it. Peace of mind is important and possible.

  • Oke when you have this, you can be satisfied. But where you put your standards will be the base from where you can be dissatisfied. But to be honest the things I allready posted are hard to accomplish on their own terms. But oke if you are satisfied with this, it's important not to take it for granted and to be thankfull and humble to it all! You will need peace of mind to realy be satisfied. So tell yourself where your standard is and what you want to accomplish now the foundation is clear.

  • Then you'll need shelter and family or friends to share with and talk to and laugh with and cry with, because if you don't have this you cannot be satisfied and you will desire this or you can lose yourself in the world. Its never too late to apologize or to knock on somebody's door for a talk. Openness and honesty foregiveness and patience are very important to experience pure love. If you don't have this or don't experience pure or true love, don't desire anything else before you have this!

  • So first start to think about what realy is important for you as a human being to be satisfied. FOOD & WATER before you desire anything more, think about your health, so make shure the food and water are healthy (a lot of food from the supermarked are filled with poison without you knowing it) SO knowing about food and water and secure safety in it would be important to be satisfied. If you don't trust anything anymore, grow your own food! It's a good way of living! So this is most important

  • Shake off the illusions on which all of us are living in! Shake off the fake world arround us! Shake off fake love and hate and desire for money money money, you know the darkest things happen because it is a way to money! Spent your money wisely. Anybody who has safe drinking water, food in his belly and a roof over his head has all he realy needs to find love and peace of mind. SO before you start to desire, ask yourself why you are, I mean what the hell man the world is beautifull!

  • Its normal to be dissatisfied with something but people are just living on a too big foot I guess people are living with too high standards and desire too much material things and are too much focussed on the outside of things and themselves which automaticaly gives a reaction to your soul/mind/spirit/innerself that realy wants just pure love. How can love be pure when material and appearance are involved??

  • Just tell the people what they have to desire, what is for humans most important to have??? what can people be satisfied with??? from where succes is granted? from where you will never be dissatisfied??? from where getting anything more than that what you allready have feels like a real blessing and you can be thankfull for it, and from where you can be in your full potential, from where creativity and love and peace of mind realy come from???

  • good shit !!! man luv the vids keepm coming :)

  • I must be supernatural.

  • Yesterday morning I desired an orange juice so I went to the store and surprisingly enough I was able to purchase it and now its all done. So uhhhh sorry lol.

  • absolutely rocking guy! I know that this law exists, but he expounds on it. The life is about realizing simple truths.

Thank you very much and thank you again.

  • this is a discourse on polarity. When your mind desires, it's that which is not attained. This associates non attainment with the the object desired. Stop desire and things just happen. Things just happen. Things just happen. Things just happen. Things just happen.

  • This didn't help me , because you desired to help me. thanks for nothing.

  • naaa bro

  • The One who knows does not speak. The One who speaks does not know (Lao Tzu).

My dear friend in the video has knowledge but not understanding. Knowledge and Wisdom are two different things. True understanding brings about transformation. We need to understand the nature of the mind first and that is what the ancients called: Self-knowledge. The journey of a thousand miles begins whit the first step (Lao Tzu). Look whitin.....

  • @Filosofojuan - So how does one contribute and HELP according to you? All I heard from YOU are paraphrases and quotes from Lao Tzu. Why don't you put something into your own words in the context of today's society and HELP the common man? Are you capable?

What do you offer? "Look within?"

Someone is trying to help. Someone is trying to contribute. Someone is trying....not copying.

  • Whats the difference between desiring something and wanting something?

  • @Lamrod209 Nothing, just different words but it's the same thing.

  • @Lamrod209 And what about the desire to end something rather. Or desire to give up something?

  • Now I think I'm starting to understand the whole logic behind not wanting anything... it seems like we should be aware of the energy that's present within our body and cultivate it, train our mind to channel it so that we can direct the universe to our will. But never forget that you have an abundance of energy already present in your body... train the mind to recognize the unseen abundance

  • i dont believe it because on a basic level if i am hungry i desire to eat something n so what you are saying is that i will starve because i want something to eat??

  • the secret is desiring at the beginning and then let go. Desire what is here and now. That is key to happiness.

  • Hermosa Beach, California

  • Replace the desire with the belief that you already have the thing that you would otherwise want. Close your eyes and imagine yourself enjoying the item, situation, income, whatever it may be, for a few minutes each day. Completely sink your mind into your imagination until you believe you have it and then you are pulling the item through the universe toward you, or shaping the universe the way you "want" it.

  • Desire is telling you that you're missing that what you desire in your life? That's with so many things, including hope, wishes, dreams. Are those bad too? Surely not. Yes, you need energy to make things happen, but you need more then just energy. Depending on what you desire you need more then just energy. I can have the energy to go a job interview that could give me the job of my dreams, but if i get hit by a car on my way over there, it's game over. That's bad luck, while i had plenty energy

  • I cant tell you how true this is....it baffles me how when I do this, even when I have the opportunity to make something happen I go out of my way to avoid it..

  • The effect of this then is that as soon as something becomes appealing to you, it becomes unavailable, so it forces you to constantly try new things. This creates an insatiable appetite for happiness, and could explain my depression.

The logic behind this theory is good, and has metaphysical merits (like in explaining the nature of ), but applying specifically to humans one might need to consider, well humans specifically.

  • desire, if I desire something that I do not have.. I will take the energy that I need to obtain it. I want to get payed, so I work.. then I get payed. I desire to be the center of my life... so I take whatever it takes and I do so. I desire an item... I go and obtain it. but most of what I have, I obtained by taking the energy after realizing that I desired to be or have. If you do not desire anything, and do not take the energy to obtain anything, you will not. Blueray1 is right.

  • I really like your videos!!! :)) You're sooooo right about desires!!!

  • I really like your videos!!! :))

  • Tetrapharmakos Epicurus

  • so does that mean that you should replace your desire with patience in order to obtain what you want? like instead of wanting it and thinking on it, you tell yourself that you will have it eventually and use patience instead?

  • @DBealProduction i love your question. ask in rawksoup/mentor

  • I totally understand what Jourknik is saying. Whenever I am desperately looking for something in the house or in a shop, I don't get it. As soon as I either let it go or turn my attention to look for alternatives, it appears right in front of me. I wish I could apply the same technique of letting go with other more serious things.

  • @DBealProduction I know this is a year old but I will TRY to answer your question RIGHT HERE and I won't charge you anything for it and NO sign up required LOL

OK, I think instead of desiring or wanting something you want, you're supposed to think as though you already have it, and "trick" your brain into believing you already obtain it. That's kinda the main, basic, idea of the Law of Attraction. The universe will become congruent to what is reality to you.

  • @DBealProduction "...you tell yourself that you will eventually have it and use patience instead". Doesn't that mean that you do desire it though?:)

  • @DBealProduction this is the process: desire, belief it is already there and let it go or better said focus on something else. Miracles will happen.

  • wow dah iz so tru

  • Wan! Everything I think 2 or 3 days before, you "explain" it a couple days later, NOW! I love you man! <---Spiritual Love*

Just a random thought.... I dream you teaching me how to do FireBalls and Kung Fu in my dreams, I wonder what that means.

  • i completely disagree with this. It STARTS with the fuel of desire and then intention is used to go the next step to manifest. Desire is the inevitable first step that moves you to create the focus of Intention----manifestation.

  • Well, if you try not to desire something or someone, and then don't focus on it, there's also a good chance that you don't get it.... ! lol

  • Have that with personal fitness clients, they over think the amount of effert/energy it will take. They often defeat themselves before they start. They jsut do not go with it and become leaner.

  • If you were to write a book, I would definitely buy it. Hardbound would be a great option for those of us who enjoy having an actual book, instead of loose downloaded pages. How about it?

  • what about the Law of attraction?

  • TOTALLY MAKES SENSE.

  • Do not desire it. Enjoy it, love it, expect it, be grateful.

  • another fantastic video full of insights we can ALL use. Thanks to @journik. A+++

  • Brilliant. I have a question: How to stop wanting something? Why would I want it back after losing interest in it?

  • @SarahHall87 you would have it before you started wanting it again...because as he said, you get what you do not desire.

but one phrase i like to say to myself when something 'good'happens, is 'don't take thins for granted'.

because in reality, we have a lot of what we WOULD desire if we were someone else, yet we have no idea...

  • wow... wan i never thought about it that way...

    its so true !

  • first i was like... maybe he's bs/ing us, but then he gave the example at the end it was like... oh sht =O he's right

  • Right on. :)

  • yeah, very intriguing

  • Very Intriguing, another great video.

  • that's pretty crazy... but it seems makes sense.
