Actually, Carlton and Damon both said that the actress only wanted to stay for one season. They planned it all along and it had nothing to do with the drunk driving charges.
But she wasn't even in the pre-S3 recap (and seriously, if she didn't exist, how come Sawyer, Michael and Jin were alive and back to their camp?), so I'd say it's not even that the characters forgot, it's the writers wanting the viewers to forget her...
Amen. I always loved Ana-Lucia and it kills me that she was so quickly forgotten after dying. I hope she gets more mention next season. Oh and great video ;)
I miss Ana Lucia. she was a great character. I hated it when she died. :(
