no, character level cap is 40. Renown is sorta like an extra point where you can customize your character with extra skills, tactics. So if you were a shadow warrior you would spend renown points on ballistic skill to increase your overall damage.

the sw is exact the opposite of what you describe "standing around and all that...."
the guy in the video doesn't play the character right.... he is not using 2/3 of the abilities of a sw... all what you say... dive in... and so on is perfectly possible. the sw has 3 stances for 3 different ranges and only in the scout stance you have to stand still while shooting.
Again, this was video from preview weekend before the game even came out, i was rank 5 and new to the game so of course i wasn't using all abilities. But you are right that shadow warrior is far more diverse. I've since leveled shadow warrior to 40 in the live game and have tried out all 3 different specs. Skirmish spec is alot more run and gun and might appeal to alot more people and is what i am speced now.
Remember the strong fact that it just came out. And also about the WoW vs. WAR thingie here. WoW is going worse and worse. Pre-Tbc, i wish i could have it back. When BC came out the things are always the same, nothing to do except arena, pvp or raids/instances. And the classes have the worst ''Rock, Paper, Scissors'' system. Eg. That's kinda... dead wrong. Assuming you're on a good enough server, (or you play with friends,) you can also run instances and level doing that. (At least that's what I did.)
level up by running instances? grind much? its the exact same instances over and over. And as far as the good server thing goes, most people solo by themselves cuz they already know exactly wat to do, and if you ask for help they call you noob and tell you L2P, most WoW players in general are ass holes.
well, its true WAR has some grinding, every MMORPG does, its impossible to avoid, but WAR does offer many more ways to rank up than WoW. And as for them paying the same players... yes lots of them can be the same ones, but my point was that certain games make people react differently, WoW was more of an independent "im better than you" mentality, while in WAR you compete as a team in everything you do, so naturally, there is more team work and people help out each other more. thats how i see it

This game will rape wow in pvp(rvr) any day. Wow is just pve, which this game has with quests and the pvp is way better. Plus the beta compared to actual wow looks better. This is only the beta. comparing the beta to a four year game and saying there evenly matched telle alot abor War. that it will rape wow when they fix all the bugs and shit.
like the author said he is only rank 4 so he only has a few skills and the only thing you can do at that level is use eagle eye and apply your DoTs. later on you get some abilities that you can use while moving which are a lot more fun and great for kiting

Are you serious? i'm only about rank 4, the only abilities i got are a DoT arrow, eagle eye which is the only real ranged damage ability, and acid arrow which debuffs armor. WoW is horrible, I played it on and off for 3 years for some reason.. I regret every second of it. I could have spent all of that time cutting my fingers off, or eating rat poison, it would have been alot more constructive and entertaining.

Zickzack - RvR stands for Realm vs. Realm. Though many people just call it another form of PvP, it's far more than that. It's PvP mixed with PvE, in a symbiotic relationship - PvErs need PvPers and PvPers need PvErs. All help contribute to Tier control and complete Realm victory.

Yes there are some nice touches in Warhammer, but on the whole the combat feels sterile.
To whoever said they'll still be playing, ofc you will, seems nearly 3/4 the world's gaming population need to move on from WOW as it is draining their soul with its stagnancy.
Funny how so many people now freely flame WOW. Yet I bet 1 year ago the same people tripped over themselves to defend it when others made comments.

If you think wow is so great, then you should keep in mind that this is where Warcrafts original ideas were developed from.
Gameplay however is a matter of taste I guess.
All in all, I think it's more about offering nice alternatives to wow, rather than trying to beat it or cash in on it. Same goes for Age of Conan.

whoa...now its kind of a biga ssumption to suggest that wow got its ideas from tehw arhammer universe of mythics other work..whatever you were refering to..there is simply no way of knowing that for certain. Granted there are similarities..but nothing that wasnt some pretty basic tokien, then d&d stuff and then of course every other thing that has spawned from that.

yes there is pve and theres pvp its all mixed. the map is made so that if you enter certain regions, you can get pwned by players.

This game will rape wow in pvp(rvr) any day. Wow is just pve, which this game has with quests and the pvp is way better. Plus the beta compared to actual wow looks better. This is only the beta. comparing the beta to a four year game and saying there evenly matched telle alot abor War. that it will rape wow when they fix all the bugs and shit.

like the author said he is only rank 4 so he only has a few skills and the only thing you can do at that level is use eagle eye and apply your DoTs. later on you get some abilities that you can use while moving which are a lot more fun and great for kiting

Are you serious? i'm only about rank 4, the only abilities i got are a DoT arrow, eagle eye which is the only real ranged damage ability, and acid arrow which debuffs armor. The rest are melee skills, oh yeah not to mention i only been playing a few hours when i first recorded footage of it. Way to be a jerk off.

I heard once that if a higher level player goes into a lower level area they get turned into a chicken and cant do anything.
Does this mean if im say level 35 and my friend was level 15 we wouldnt ever be able to see or fight with eachother even if we were on the same faction?

This only happens if you enter an RvR area lower than your level. So you can help your friend on quests in PvE areas fine.

WoW is horrible, I played it on and off for 3 years for some reason.. I regret every second of it. I could have spent all of that time cutting my fingers off, or eating rat poison, it would have been alot more constructive and entertaining.

Zickzack - RvR stands for Realm vs. Realm. Though many people just call it another form of PvP, it's far more than that. It's PvP mixed with PvE, in a symbiotic relationship - PvErs need PvPers and PvPers need PvErs. All help contribute to Tier control and complete Realm victory.
One football team vs. another. Whether you're playing (PvP) or doing something not directly against the other team's players (i.e. coaching), you're still helping your team win.
