There are some foreign-origin words that contain the last few letters: xylitoli (a Finnish invention!), zeniitti, zeppeliini, zoomata, ångström. Btw: the Q is pronounced as a K, not as a G.
so interesting.! laiva in finnish is the same word as laiva in latvian.! and banaani in finnish also is the same as banāni ( lots of them) in latvian.! these words are spelt the same.!
@MoriAryka You would have to say "suomen kieli on kaunista" or "suomi on kaunista". But you can say "suomi on kaunis" when you talk about the country and not the language.
@GrandTheftFreedom PLEASE don't ever give up on ANYTHING in life you want... no matter what it is! --even if you just learn to count to 10, do alphabet & IDk hello, thank you... you will feel so good inside once you do it :) I have the WORST time with Serbian!!!!! I wanted to give up 10000 times.. but I stuck with it using headphones.also music with the Serbian and english words typed out --headphones work best-you can hear better & concentrate more. Don't overdo it, just maybe 1 time a day?
@GrandTheftFreedom Do not give up! You WILL be able too promice--it takes time and practice.. I know there's people i have tought and after they finally relaxed suddenly they wanted to roll R's all day! lol-- just NEVER GIVE UP!
@rsunour Go to a site called my language exchange, I found a penpal their and I have had many people contact me to help them with their english while they help me with finnish. IIt's a great website.
wow. the similarities between Finno-Ugric and Baltic languages surprise me. Although completely not related, but worlds like laiva, banaani(banāni), Tseki sound and have the same meaning as in Latvian.
