That Mark Twain scene with satan was definitely creepy, but it was only 5 minutes. The rest of the film was very thought provoking and very interesting. I see no harm in trying to do something very different.

I totally agree. When I was a kid, I didn't hold with boring, bland stuff. Something like that would've interested me a lot.
