For every case of parental "neglect" there are many, many more cases of CPS abuse / murder in foster "care". The state is the biggest abuser of children, but you won't often hear about them being prosecuted.
@CPSSucks I work with CPS, and I can assure you we are far from corrupt, we look out for the childs wellfare to the best of our abilities. We do have some finnancial restrictions, and have to wait for due proscess on interveining in some cases, but overall we do a good job. We send supervisers to each group home every 90 days to evaluate the childrens care.

My Uncle weighed 14 pounds 15 onzes. Record birth weight in Northern Ontario. My sis was almost 11 pounds, my husband was over 10 pounds at birth. So 10 pounds at 4 is a horrible tragedy.
It looks like the cops jumped to conclusions. The boy had a rare disorder called Miller-Dieker syndrome. Most children born with a case a severe as this boy's rarely live to be 4 years old. He had a feeding tube, but still couldn't properly absorb nutrients or his seizure medication. This young girl had provided her son with health care and frequent doctor's visits.

@MissRenesmee100 - and I take it you watch Nancy Grace every night and Oprah every day, and I bet you pretend you are so upset about abused children, but yet are too ignorant and poorly educated to know that a child is at least 5 times more likely to die in foster "care" than they are in the care of their parents. If you cared one iota about abused children, you'd have taken the time to realize they are dying a slow, tortuous death, by the millions, in foster "care." You should be ashamed.

I was once in Santa Rosa Florida. To know that this happened there does not surprise me. I had car trouble while there, and the only garage was like something you would see in Texas Chain Saw Massacre. I kept thinking that I had stumbled on one of the most God-forsaken places on earth. I couldn't get out of there quickly enough. Nobody had to ask me to leave.

Yes,I know I'm gonna have loadsa young mothers telling me they were like 13,14,15 etc when they had their 1st child & they're doing ok.That's as may be,but I'd dispute how successfully such young females really are dealing with their off-spring! one thing to thank God, and to the credit of whomever did this: to bring the child to the hospital. so i suspect mental illness, not malice. this mother needed more people in her life helping with the child. perhaps she was all alone, or it never would have happened. not to excuse it though.

My Uncle weighed 14 pounds 15 onzes. Record birth weight in Northern Ontario. My sis was almost 11 pounds, my husband was over 10 pounds at birth. So 10 pounds at 4 is a horrible tragedy.

my friend's little boy was 9 pounds when he was born. my premature sister was four pounds at birth for christ sake.

It looks like the cops jumped to conclusions. The boy had a rare disorder called Miller-Dieker syndrome. Most children born with a case a severe as this boy's rarely live to be 4 years old. He had a feeding tube, but still couldn't properly absorb nutrients or his seizure medication. This young girl had provided her son with health care and frequent doctor's visits.
