You obviously never kept up with events in the 1970's. The Solidarity Labor movement, encouraged & enabled by the Polish Catholic Church - led by Archbishop Karol Wotyla (aka John Paul the Second) undermined the Communist government of Poland to the point that the government fell. That caused a chain reaction across eastern Europe which toppled the Soviet empire. It wasn't our nukes or our diplomacy, it was a simple clergyman & his band of followers who did it. The key word in Michelle Obama's statement is "adult", as in having maturity of judgment. Once you are an adult, you can make the distinction between "somewhat proud", and "really proud". If you listen to the audio on the tngop video, you will hear that they edited out "really" when she said "really proud". By editing the modifier "really" out of the sound bite, they acknowledge the distinction, thereby revealing their lack of mature judgment.
