This guy reminds me of George Carlin when he was late in life used to like to say

that each of us is under the thumb of "the man", we are not free, and there is nothing we can do about it. Thus is from a guy who made a life, and got rich, doing stand up in Vegas, just speaking his mind.

Nancy says "no American lives were lost". What is she smoking!?!??!?!?? Tell that to the parents/wife/husband of a fallen soldier who lost his or her life in the last 10 years fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan!!! These politicians haven't a clue. They treat people like a piece of meat. Nancy and her friends should be the ones sent to war!!!

What a knowledgable fella. I used to relish watching Hitchens and Chomsky, but I find Hitchens has become repulsive in his blindness on these issuses. Both he and Chomsky won't even acknowledge the doubt over 9-11, and we have no-one who speaks like this in the UK.

@TaoPiet 'The American Dream' is the deluded idea that I, too, can become a millionaire in the 'Land of Opportunity': the proverbial rise from dishwasher to CEO. The legend goes that this is only possible in the USA. In fact, the American Dream has been dead for decades. Statistics show quite clearly that upward social mobility in the USA is extremely low, that is, if you are born poor in the US, you will stay poor. But the corporate media still spews out the propaganda to mollify the people.

@TaoPiet @TaoPiet @TaoPiet Yes, you're right. They've been brought up to believe that the USA is the best country in the world, which from a European point of view is a complete joke. European democracies are far superior to the degenerate corporate-style proto-fascism they have in the USA. But since most Americans have never lived abroad and don't even have a passport they are condemned to continue living in the dream world presented to them by the corporate media and Hollywood.
