  • I cann't believe creationist suck! if they could have it their way we would be back to the Inquisition. Get with the program people, superstition is being replaced by knowledge!!!!

  • Why nasa dont give names for galaxies + stars + planets?

With each star havin 5+ planets and 200 billion stars in each galaxy and 200 billion galaxies in the universe....u think of the names...

  • Why can't NASA give the planets they discover REAL names like the ones in our solar system? :(

  • The good thing with astronomy is that everybody can agree that it's real and that we're curious about what's out there, even though you're a believer or not...

  • Well i guess ill break the ice.........just imagine the evolution of drugs on exoplanets.

  • if it takes so many earth years to orbit its sun how did hubble snap it twice in 2 years?? cool vid

  • i hope I'm still alive when the technology for getting closer to exoplanets is developed.

  • Is this narrated by Milton Jones?

  • why is there a dislike button???????????

    IT'S NOT A TOY

  • @kbp5520 =[ Please just pledge three pounds a month, and help us stop the inexhaustible misuse of the dislike button.

  • Violence is not a generic issue, is the eviroment around the child, clear example is Charles mason, sick and fucked up parents, with a kid IQ of 184 score, education and good habits is what we need, serial killers, sick rapist, and a long story of cases related to this awful shit, all this caused for lock of basic education, alcoholic parents, lock of sexual education, religion, and bad social race differences.

  • Not a fan of violence but we could use that in order to change the mind of citizens and proof that violence is an issue of early education. And we can reverse that in so many different fields...

  • The discover of new planets, better education and the chance to survive our own solar system.I know we all different and we all want the best, but I think before this could happened humans we need to be in a extreme treat to open our eyes and this is very sad, since our predecessors in less than a 100000000000000000 chance wich is less than 100 years fuck up our future.....

  • If all the goverments could work together and for one day a week the whole entire human race, put attention to do an effort to work together and try to open more ways to make the space and stars easy to discover, if all could supply materials and brilliants minds to develop a worldwide union, and all be part of it,our chances could be better,NO WARS NO RACE DIFFERENCES NO VIOLENCE NO RICH NO POOR NO BORDERS NO POLITICS NO GREED NO ADVANTAGE OF EDUCATION,only one purpose....

  • Creationist are silly, stupid, blatantly ignorant, and mostly incompetent.

MC Hawking is beast, he pretty much summed it up.

  • Does anyone realize that we could be an electron in some giant's brain?

  • "the extremely catchy and very imaginative name...Formalhaut B"

    *raises right eyebrow*

    I love dr. J

  • Is there a name for really crummy kid tv like this shit?

  • Why do they name the first planet discovered in a solarsystem Xxxxxx "b" iinstead of Xxxxxx "a"??

Is Xxxxxx "a" the star itself??

  • i dont know why there are so many unrelated comments in this video

  • There is God!!! He made everything!!! Unfortunately many people don't have the humility to recognize this wonderful truth!!! They idolize science, well, God made all the laws of science!!!! God made our intelligent brains to study and discover all these great divine works!! Since the tinier thing on the microcosmo until the ends of the whole universe!!! Glory to God, forever and ever!!! Thank you!!! :D (now, you be polite and respect me!! If you didn't agree, that's for you to think about!) :D

  • What's with all the hate towards Christians on this channel? This discovery doesn't disprove anything. We all know there are other advance beings living in the cosmos other than ourselves, and their world may work differently than our world. This is common sense. We are all God's creations and I'm sure other species are beautiful just like us.

  • @jshjamaarify Exactly!!! You got it perfectly right!!! Despite so many different points of view,I think there's no reason to hate anybody!!!! :D

  • @jshjamaarify I don't hate Christians. I feel sorry for them

  • fuck them creationists

  • The other dot in the SW part of the image, outside the belt, is another star?

  • Relax you all, the creationists will be thrown to hell by their own creator för promoting ignorance.

  • Why do creationists what to use vote-bots to vote-down this video? This is true observation. Watching what God has created. Why deny God's own creation? Haven't discovered any life-bearing planets yet, but that could change. If the God of Israel is real, they should not deny real science, because he created the universe, and proper science objectively observes the universe.

  • Its been vote botted due to the fact evidence hurts faith

  • This video has been votebotted?

    WTF.

  • I may be a creationist but this is fascinating. Keep watching!

  • @Wildcard120 i agree lol

  • woah the british voice is.. weird

  • nice but this dude has the most annoying voice......can nobody else narrate this..

  • USA? who gives a shit. They'll be gone in another thousand years and so will everything else. Everything finishes at some point in time. and yes this guy is annoying. What's he doing out of his boyfriends' kitchen.

  • Comment removed

  • OMG this dude sounds so anoying!

  • are most people who coment here smoking the funny stuff ,love peace man,its science it could be , it may not be , of course theres life out there ,just imagine, 65 million years ago, bang dinos gone , another solar system in the same time line as earth ,no bang , and that other inteligent life got a sixtyfive million year head start, think about it

    there here already

  • it's the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in my life

  • SPACE IS SO BIG.

    GOD IS AWESOME.

  • this would make an epic dreamscene :D

  • The scientists do the same thing giving all that info for such a small thing. It’s a popcorn fart in a tornado and you want to make a big deal out of the popcorn fart. It is interesting but just say you don’t know I can believe that.

  • I think its cool but its like watching that jerk cop C. W. Jensen on World's Wildest Police Videos, make it sound better then it is. You know the guy that has the annoying voice and some one 50 ft from a speeding car just narrowly has the taste of death.

  • Ya got to love scientists with their theories. I love the words, could or might, they don’t know jack squat. How can they get all that out of some blurry picture?

  • (generic creationist comment)--uhh, that's impossible! the bible says the universe is only 150 miles across! (you know, the book we wrote to explain everythign before science, and still stick to despite conclusive evidence to the contrary.)

  • @Wesleyfromindy2 The Bible was also translated several times originating from a dead language. Denominational religion is based on these "translations" of very old text and shouldn't be taken literally by a modern thinker.

  • nice...thank you!

  • I guess Darth Vader lives there...

  • well hubbles first name must be britny cuz the guy said he did it again so hubble probly said OOPS i did it again huston!

  • I find it funny as hell how irrelevant these comments are, wtf?

  • theres a picture of earth at little more than this resolution taken by one of the pioneers as it left the inner solar system.

  • Why would this get vote botted??

    Fuck those creationist dickheads.

  • @karadan100 wow ever so kind

  • @karadan100 Thats just paronoid. If it got "vote botted" youd think there would be more negitive votes then positive, wouldnt you.

  • @YamaKazoo I think YT can tell a vote bot from a valid account vote enabling them to mass-delete said votes.

  • @karadan100 Especially since, if they truly had their way, our host would be breaking the law by saying these things and subject to all the hazards thereof. Fuck those creationist dickheads, indeed.

  • @karadan100 Yeah it makes no sense and I really dont get why they think that because they bleave in god that they should hate astronomy it makes no sense to me.

  • @crazyfills The Vatican Observatory is one of the oldest astronomical research institutions in the world. It has its headquarters at the papal summer cg-cirilliW2residence in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, outside Rome.

  • شوهد أن هناك

  • Isn't both funny and hypocritical.Europe hates the USA,doesn't mind putting us down every chance they get,BUT,they don't mind using our space program to advance there educational studies on astronomy.Instead of bashing us,I'd like to hear about the good things the USA does for the world.

  • @demmylowther Who cares what you want to hear? You do not represent the US people, or its space program. We have every right to say what we want about the US. We have every right to speak up when we see something we think is wrong. In my country, these rights are guaranteed by our constitution, inspired by the US constitution of 1787. Freedom of speech also applies to things you do not want to hear..

  • @demmylowther and if your corporations and military weren't using those things with all the discretion and frugal deliberation of a coke addict mother of a little girl freshly run down by drunk drivers, you would.

  • @demmylowther You want to know "What good things the USA does for the World"? Well ... ummmm ... let me see ... hmmm ... We are going to have to get back to you on that one :)

  • @demmylowther The fact that nobody recognizes the U.S. for it's good worldly deeds is part of what makes America great. We continue to help the world despite the fact that most other countries claim to hate us.

  • @demmylowther What's sad is that the USA has aprox.310 million citizens and the EU has aprox.501 million, yet you think that your single limited experience reflects all those people's opinions so much that you can make this generalization.

And just so you know not everyone in Europe hates the USA just like not everyone form the USA is racist, rich, stupid, or... insert your favorite false prejudice here.

  • @juditK2007 I was gonna write a prejudice about america or maybe a few actually... but i dont think they would change anything, cause you would just get upset and unlike what i said and just continue down the path you are on...

    PEACE!!!

  • @storestyggesvendsens "you would just get upset and unlike what i said and just continue down the path you are on..."

And which path would that be? The one that recognizes that people are different and that there are assholes everywhere and if you meet an asshole who happens to be american you shouldn't think that all Americans are like that? Does this seem like a bad path to you? Wow. Sorry about that. I'm just a hippy like that I guess. Peace indeed.

  • @juditK2007 well now that we are at it. even your president dosent know how many states there are in his own country. yes Obama. your literacy compared to the rest of the "literat" world is the lowest, i read a study that states that americans read at the same level in 9th grade that europeans do in form 3.4 and 5

Some of you dont even know where tha continents are placed on the world map. your the fantastic melting pot where its every man for himself. yes people are different.

  • @storestyggesvendsens Thank you very much for making beautiful straw men accusations against me without knowing my actual knowledge of geography or level of literacy. lol

I never said I was a US citizen, yet you assumed that because it was more comfortable.Great job!

I was just saying I will not say that all Americans are stupid because I met a few stupid ones, just like I won't think that all Danes think their smarter than everyone because of you. :) I really hope you understand now.

  • @storestyggesvendsens You are a pompous ass.

  • @storestyggesvendsens part 2. I have nothing against americans.. youre fine and good people... youre just naive, and ignorant. you think you have the best gov. in the world... while you have no idea that other gov. in the world function so much better and actually make their countries more stable and secure for EVERYONE, rich and poor a like. I like that. that feeling of "We stand together" that there is in Europe from the state and all the people.. where americans when faced with some..

  • @storestyggesvendsens Oh my, wait a minute here. Im American and a shit load of us do not like our gov. Its whats wrong with America. So dont think we all love our gov because most of us do not, at all.

  • @storestyggesvendsens part 3 when faced with some ... lets say medical difficulty.. you have to run around asking friends neighburs churches etc.. for help, because you cant pay the hospital bill... well guess what.. i pay more taxes... but at least i dont have to worry about all that because the gov. has my back.

(to be honest i have no idea how we got to discussing this... but really... you guys should start to look at other countries for examples of godd stable gov... thats what i believe..

  • @juditK2007 I never realized that such a high percentage of people were uneducated, narrow-minded, self-centered, anti-everything they don't understand or believe, and when all else fails... use expletives until YouTube which sadly is a very good representation of the general population of Earth. We really don't deserve this planet... we don't appreciate it anymore than we do each other. And we think we're the most intelligent life form in the universe that GOD made just for us? LMAO Please!

  • @IDV82atl I agree with you in the most part but don't think for a second that Youtube is any reflection of humanity. Maybe of a small part of it, the one with an internet connection, enough time and sufficient English language skills to make such comments etc. Don't lose all hope just because of a few angry people on one website out of many. :) Peace.

  • @juditK2007 But, the US is one country Europe is a bunch

  • @xxDARKD3ATHxx Not entirely true. Someone from California and someone from Texas will have more in common with each other than with someone from France for example. But on the other hand that someone from France will have more in common with someone from Croatia then with either of the Americans, so no the difference is not that great. And yes there are regional differences but that was not the point. The point was that its stupid to dismiss people's opinion based on their geographic location.

  • @juditK2007 I totaly agree im from the EU I love america.

  • @demmylowther , well Hubble and the next space telescopes are joint missions between NASA and ESA

  • Supposed time-line of Creationism (!!) 6.000 years ? I believe in God, but 6,000 years is but an eye blink in creation. A commitee may have sat and debated and come up with that figure, but I think it's ridiculous. 600 million years? 8 billion ? Guesswork for us 'umble 'umans .

  • 1:48 - Eye of Sauron!! =O

  • Coca Cola is delicious.

  • wow

  • I'm not a creationist... With that said, I do NOT understand why they can't see this and believe in creation? The Pope sanctioned the Big Bang for heavens sake... I mean.. What are they so afraid of? Anyway, thank you for uploading this video. I'm sorry you are targeted by creationists that seem to want to skew the facts into something that fits their mold.

  • @Liucilla Catholics sell the idea that the bible is metaphorical and is only really about with morality. But of course if it`s metaphorical it can mean whatever you want. And if they now only claim authority in the field of morality is simply because they realised they can`t compete with science.

So non-catholics who don`t want to face the same problespush for a literal interpretation of the bible even if it mean pretending they can`t ear, see or understand any new idea.

  • He alks like Dr. Rush for SGU...

  • now this is what facinates me space and planets. thats why i want to be an astronomer

  • lol Why would a Creationist votebot this video? Apparently God hates exoplanets even more than homosexuals.

  • when I become rich, im gunna buy a telescope just as, or even more powerful then the hubble telescope, then Ill look out of it 24/7

  • you can make a spaceship jump to light years right? to make super distance? hehehe

  • Counteract a creationists votebot?? Don't mind if I do!!

  • if we do find other life on some planet, i don't think we should interfere, or else they'll end up like us, which wouldn't be so great what with all our wars and hate. We should observe and see, but interfering is not a good idea imho.

  • At the rate that exoplanets are being discovered now, and the recent discovery of an exoplanet within the habitable zone of a star (although it's probably a gas giant), I think it's only a matter of time before we find a planet very similar to earth's conditions, which were ideal to create life.

  • @HeavyMechanics

Just the possibility that in our lifetime, we may find another planet in another solar system that contains life. It's such a mindboggling idea, yet when you consider the size of the universe how could there not be life all over the place. I'm very much a Saganite.

  • jesus these relig kooks use computers and cars and medicine but gotta bash science. i wanna give them their own country

  • @adzug

not necessarily for all religious people but you are so right, there is nothing more irritating than someone who bashes something whose advantages they are at that moment using.

  • @Fabstaire no bro i know im usually not so bitter, its not about youre relig or lack of but how you live life with others.but often youll get the " just a theory" ppl and drives me nuts the irony. and yes that sagan piece is not only good but beautiful in its description. love demon haunted world. cheers

  • @adzug no, don't do that, then they'll start holy wars!

Not really, but you're probably right.

  • killratoss you make us believe you were evolved from Pond Scum... it's not a good look though.

  • you have a problem with pond scum? its part of the world and evolution. we dont come from pond scum but from a situation probably very similar.

  • Everything so perfect? You mean like the orbits? BTW, they are not circeler.

  • so is self delusion

  • if humanity someday finds a habitable place keep in mind

fratsenge sawtute kayä a tseng tìska'a sayutx ye'rìn.

its only a matter of time until history repeats

  • Great video.Thx for posting.

  • fuckin just amazing shit. lol and people believe in god haha

  • Comment removed

  • Why would anyone votebot this?

  • We really should one day send spacecraft to our nearby stars, even if it does take thousands of years to get there. Surely we are close to being able to make a craft capable of doing that and functioning when it got there to send back data, launching probes to any planets it finds. I guess the problem is that technology could improve so much in that time that the craft is unnecessary.

  • I think need to build berserker probes, self replicating battle probes turning almost all matter in the universe into weapons so that we kill the aliens before they kill us.

  • its because of people like you that i lose more and more hope in humainty...hot bout just try killing yourself and do everybody a favour

  • If the panspermia theory would be true you should be really worried that we might actually be related to et life.

I hope all alien vessels stay away as far as they can from this shitball called earth full of retards for their own good.

  • @juggep80 what makes you think they would bany any different from us?

  • why look 4 another planet to live on clean up the one we are on man is so distructive our destiny is based on what we do in our lives im discusted in man kind

  • I agree in many ways to you, but observing outerspace does not in any way cause any harm to the plannet, please put your energies in trying to stop the so many things that do!

  • Very very interesting, so Formalhaut b must be a gas giant, then it's not suitable for life even if it is placed in the habitable zone of it's star.

  • @hrbear And you know this how? Just because nothing we KNOW of can live on a gas giant means that nothing can live there. People are so narrow minded, take this one for example. Whenever NASA looks for life, the first thing they look for is water. Only because everything on this planet needs it doesn't mean that life on another planet needs it. I just don't get it. Not trying to be rude or a dick I'm just saying .

  • Fortunately I' am a Trekkie so I understand what you mean. Indeed in Star Trek episodes or other science fiction series one can see life forms such as living crystals, living rocks, even a living planet. As far as we are not absolutely sure for many things, also life, one can not totally reject this opinion. I remember from biology when we started at the first chapter the book said that no actual definition of what life is, exists, but we can define life from some characteristics, such as

  • reproduction, complexity, and a stable temperture keeping or difference in temperture from the environment (in some cases). Having in mind that life as we know it can exist under very difficult conditions like very deep underground, in volcanic environments, in undersee chimneys, in high salty environments, in very dry deserts, then yes life can be a hard nut. NASA speaks about the organic life as we know it, so they say that in order for this organic life to exist and the molecules to be

  • together, water must be present. Else, they say, these organic molecules can not form :( It's difficult for these known life conditions to exist on gas giants, but gas giants also have some other factors that may prevent life from existing there, very strong gravity, very strong magnetic fields, much electrostatic activity, strong winds, and extremely high pressures. I don't remember of what about the radioactivity. I

  • have seen the History Channel's documentaries about Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus. The Jupiter documentary says that Jupiter's magnetic field is so strong that we can not even approach, in a close distance our electronic devices are vunerable to be destroyed. The tempertures, the storms are in extremely conditions. I accept that we found life under sea canyons where the pressures are also very high, but at least there is a...quiet world for some things to happen. But in Jupiter....well I wont

  • totally disagree with you. What I said about "life in gas giants doesn't exist" is a kind of general acceptance :)

  • It's not in habitable zone, it is farther from Fomalhaut than Neptune is from the Sun.

  • @Rabastan Hmm...the habitable zone depends on the star. If the star is hotter than the Sun or larger, then the habitable zone lies in a larger distance than the distance between Sun / Earth. If the star is colder or smaller then the habitable zone lies in a closer distance. This happens in Gliese 381c or d. Because Gliese is a colder star, then it's habitable zone is closer to the star, so 381c or d are theoritically inside, and water can be found in liquid (neither ice nor steam).

  • Wow, vottebots leave comments now ?

  • 2:45 is an actual image, not a computer generated image.

  • more computer images

  • more computer images lame-meat!

  • @serialkiller2476 , go EAT SHIT

  • lol

  • lol fake

  • @serialkiller2476 i know... -_-

  • @serialkiller2476

    i wouldn't say its fake

  • Super!!

  • Images like this are what the word "awesome" should be reserved for.

  • we will be like the dinosaurs...our fossils and relics will remain...we will go out much like everything else that has become extinct...it's inevitable...history repeats...over and over...

  • Umm why would "creationist votebots" bother with this video??

There's nothing in here that disputes their theory anyway. This is simply an amazing discovery by Hubble.

  • Believe me. It happens -_-

  • Because creationists are idiots that use propaganda techniques rather than logic to create followers. Well, they do that when they're not busy misinterpreting and misusing scientific concepts to further their agenda. This is a science video and doesn't mention their invisible man, so of course they're going to go after it.

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome.

***Hey, has anyone seen the unusual activity of our Sun lately? I have not verified but can be seen via GIF images on the SOHO NASA site.

Even though its supposed to be near the 'lowest activity' of its cycle. It seems to be 'Pulsing'. The entire Sun seems at times to light suddenly to even the brightness equivalent of the CME's. Then going quickly right back to normal. Like a capacitor. ***

If you know anything more abut this please message me. Thank you much.

  • wow

  • smokappi doesn't understand science, hes a christian, he only understands fear, ignorance and blind obedience.

  • I'm not a christian.

Keep assuming in one hand and take a dump in the other one.

1 single evidence, Go find it.

  • Smokappi fails to distinguish between the layman's term theory and actual scientific theory

  • Show me 1 single example of muliation/link between 2 species.

  • Genetics links any species and it determines how far or closely related they are.

  • Failed... I wonder why.

  • Oh really? Is that all what you have to say about genetic evidence? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Next time, stop insinuating that you are well versed in genetics when in reality, your knowledge about it is but a drop compared to the whole thing. Still, I have to commend you for airing your side but as I said before: "Genetics is genetics."

I do not claim to support Darwin's Theory of Evolution. It is what it is if the boot fits.........especially in the genetic aspect.

  • You are the one claiming to be well versed in genetics, Not me.

Despite of this you dont know about any fossil evidence of mutilation.

  • Fossil evidence can only go so far. What truly matters is in the genes.

Just don't make any more foolish remarks regarding genetic evidence smokkapi.

  • @smokkapi

You are saying "mutilation"...don't you mean "mutation"? There is a huge difference.

  • I just think too many people take Darwin's theory as a fact, Even though it hasn't been proved. Animals can adapt to their enviroment, I dont doubt this. F.example an aquarium fish can stop growing if you put it in a small glass bowl. It's not the same as mutilation though, There should have been thousands of fossils proving this. Darwin predicted we would fint it, But we didn't.

  • We HAVE found loads of fossils. Search it up on Google. "Transitional Fossils"

  • You almost sound as if archeology is done and there is no more to do.

  • No I think there is more to do.

    And I'm waiting in excitement.

Some people are impatient and draw conclusions meanwhile. It's been 2-300 years of archeology so its understandable though.

But for me, I need hard evidence. Guess we'll have to wait 2-300 years more maybe.

We'll see what evidence shows up in our lifetime. It will probably be a blast:P

  • @smokkapi Tell us. Is there testable evidence for the superstitions of orthodox religion? Is there or has there ever been testable evidence that it is possible to resurrect the dead of even one man? Is there testable evidence that the walls of aJericho blew down? Is there testable evidence that Mary was taken bodily into heaven?

These facts from outer space are testable. Physics is testable. Chemistry is testable. Is there testable evidence that the Bible is God's word ?

  • In other words, The lack of evidence speaks for itself.

  • Yea we have similar dna with most living creatures. Apes have no unique similarity than all others. Your point? Oh yea they look similar, Where is the millions of years of fossil links? hmmmmmmmmm.......

  • I hope they discover life on other planets in my lifetime!

    Btw, ignore the IDiots.

  • well a study proves there is drinkable water on the moon, if theres water on the moon there could be water or even air on billions or trillions of planets out there, so other life in the universe... is pretty much garunteed, but not proven.... yet

  • If we don't find life in our solar system like on Saturn's moons, we will never find life elsewhere considering how far the nearest stars are.

  • that dude has a yo-yo in his neck XD

and i wonder if that intense humour at 2:20 is the best joke ever for scientists :L lol

  • Stupid creationists

  • @aaabronco,

    .

I'm a creationist. I believe in God AND SCIENCE. Wow, you can have both. And they don't use visual range of photography for nebulas. They take pictures applying the three primary colors of light assigned to the composition of the nebula. Red shows emission from singly-ionized sulfur atoms. Green shows emission from hydrogen. Blue shows light emitted by doubly- ionized oxygen atoms. So, if you were to look at the nebula it wouldn't look like the picture shown.
