iPad doesn't seem really special to me. All it is, is a Macbook laptop without the keyboard, only I can do way more on my laptop. I think the only thing I would use it for is to read books, and it looks like it would get worsome to hold after awhile. I think I'm becoming a dinosaur. In da house, I have a room full of computers. On the go, I have a laptop. It does what the big boys do, and I don't see it as any more cumbersome to carry around than an iPad. For a phone, I have a phone. Seriously. A simple little matchbox size $20 Motorola that flips open, is a superb phone, and even does texting, which I never use. I can't even rationalize a "want" for an iPhone, much less a need. And an iPad? Pffft...

If you want to do semi-long emails and messages...yes. It's kind of an intermediary between the iPhone and your laptop. On the go, it does things that I hate to do on my phone.
