  • plastic

  • it would cost thousands of dollars to make a fake tooney, its not worth it!!!!

  • you can tell the "fake" one is made of plastic, just saying

  • @N3phran yeah cause plastic sounds like metal right

  • The homeless comment was rude, cruel, and totally uncalled for. You should be ashamed.

  • Iron toonies would be fairly cheap to make. Go to your local dollar store and buy a Iron hammer for $1. Iron is the cheapest and most abundant metal on the planet, 920x more common than nickel.

Nickel back in 1970 was worth a lot. A $100 box of nickels would have bought 40 barrels of oil (a little over $4,000 for 40 barrels nowadays) Nixon destroyed all metal money in 1971, along with gold.

  • How do you get rich counterfeiting toonies? Ripping off laundrymats? Wouldn't that take forever?..lol next big job counterfeiting Canadian Tire Money

  • 2 medals? (0:44) I thought thet were coins??

  • @webx3u The two metals, as in the material.

  • @Hermionerox24 Yes I realize that...I wish there was a sarcasm key!!

  • this guy sounds like he has some wierd speech impediment.

  • it would actually cost almost as much to fake a toonie as it would be worth ,,, weight them ,,, this video not factual ,,, and any one that would give fake money to a homeless person is shit ,,, this fool does not know what they are talking about at all !

  • there both fake, none of them are real money. They just conman metals.

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 toonies still have nickle and copper in them, soon even that will be worth more than the coin, steel toonies coming soon, theyre doing it with the loonie already..

  • i dont care let kfc deal with that toonie tuesday yo which is now more like 3 bucks

  • The scary thing is, that the Queen on the coin looks EXACTLY like my grandma... except the hair... which is SOOOO scary!!!

  • My brother got a fake Toonie as change in a shop, he didn't find out until he used it at the vending machine, the brown part in the middle of the fake Toonie fell out. He stuck it back in and bought bubble tea with it. He came home and told me, I feel bad for the cashier who got the fake Toonie. :(

  • that is such a good idea to give fake money to the homeless. They are always coming up with stupid stories on why they need money. You know they are gonna spend it on booze or drugs. So why not make them go away with fake money. brilliant!

  • @angustc Booze and drugs? Well that's what I would spend it on too!

  • Real and fake.

    They are both a fraud!

  • Royal Mint (UK) finished their assement of fake Pound coins this year. 2.94% of all 9.5 gram 70% Cu, 24.5% Zn, and 5.5% Ni coins are "officially" fake. That means about 62,000,000 British Pound coins are fake.

Heck, I've even got a 1929 Canadian 5-cent piece here that has obvious markings that someone tested it for counterfiet (probably during the '30s)

  • fuckin dumbass, be nice to homeless people, giving them fake money makes you look like a fool

  • i give all my counterfeit money to my drug dealers - they cant tell

  • @HKLesterol Be careful they dont catch on ur in for some trouble.

  • @scottasing no they cant cuz say im spending $80 maybe $50 of it would be counterfeit then when they take my money they just put it in a bigger wad which was from evrybody else - unless he takes my money puts it aside and decides to spend a fake bill on something else other than resupply

  • @scottasing I once hung with a fellow who did what you are doing and it ended badly for him. People arent always as gullible as you think. What ended up happening was our dealer eventually cought on that he was recieveing counterfiet money more regularly than a per chance occurance. And once he found out he was getting counterfeit money he waited to see who was giving it to him. Once buddy gave it to him 3 or 4 more times he called him on it. Its actually pretty easy to get caught man. Careful.

  • i hate ur voice

  • hahahah

  • thats a pentel pen

  • who the fuck makes fake toonies ...

  • Comment removed

  • It would cost more than two bucks to fake a toonie. There was a batch that were recalled because they seperated.

  • So your going to give it some homeless person!!!!???? How rude they are people too they need the real money more than WE do!!!

  • Neither of these coins are fake, one is worn down and dirty. I've had plenty of toonies that sounded different when you dropped them, it all depends which year you have, because every year it's a different alloy mixture. But have fun trying to convince dumb people.

  • @sylver369 The worn down dirty one is the one you're claiming to be a fake.

  • the best way to tell is to drop them & listen to the noise.

  • @MapleBalls not at all, every year they use a different alloy mixture for every coin.

  • The coin you're referring to is NOT fake. There was a shortage of blanks during 2004 which necessitated the Mint's purchasing blanks from Germany. I know this because I worked at the Mint in Winnipeg when they were producing those coins.

  • The Canadian blanks have straight edges between them that are held together due to the pressures exerted by the press when they're stamped. The seams are quite visible and completely normal..

The inner portion of the German blank has a convex outer edge while the outer ring has a convex inner edge. They make for a better looking, more durable coin.

Why? Tthe RC Mint couldn't obtain the copyright on the German process so they did the next best thing, they improvised.

  • @imHook You got it.

  • Hey Dumbass, it's not a fake. There was a short period of time in 2004 where there was a manufacturing problem with the coins. The center piece had a problem of staying in the coin. Besides, do you have any idea how much it would cost to produce those $2.00 fake coins? A hell of a lot more than $2.00. P.T Barnum was right. There's an idiot born every minute.

  • @woodrat2296 right on.

  • @woodrat2296 to get the metal, and the stamps, just to produce the first coin, yeah it would be pretty expensive. However, once you've got what you need, and you've produced a good portion of coins... like say 1000 of them, then you're basically making them for 2 cents a piece. If one could get away with it, that would be a good 1000% profit on each coin. (it helps when you know that the actual production cost at the Royal Canadian Mint is 2 cents per coin).

  • @sylver369 thus why they want to phase out pennies.

  • asshole, giving fake twoonies to homeless ppl. you have no class

  • @canadian01978 neither one is fake.

  • @canadian01978 the reason she is giving them fake toonie's is because of a moral decision she would feel guilty if she was using a fake toonie to pay for something she knows it's tainted so instead of passing on this tainted toonie for greed she passes it on as a donation of wealth to a homeless person because people wouldn't refuse a toonie from a homeless man because its not a Canadian thing to do :)

  • @canadian01978 Unless the store owner didn't check. It's still classless though.

  • i have quarters like that

  • @whty541 cool.

  • That was very informative.

If you're caught passing fake money you can be arrested.

I thought the one on the right was fake.

  • @garycalgary Not really. neither one's a fake.

  • Tapping each coin on a marble surface will produce an audible difference that is more controlled than the random drop. The oldest cash registers had marble for this reason - back when pennies and nickles could buy some new dungarees and a spitoon!

  • @chadbryden not that it would have mattered, even back then they used a different alloy mixture each year.

  • False. Excerpt from Royal Canadian Mint: "All circulation coins bearing these effigies are genuine and are to be accepted as legal tender in Canada."

  • @cgeorge1122 That was released back in 1996 when the first toonies came out, it does not however apply to any coins thereafter.

  • Lols just spend it dumbass if the mutha fucka notices just buy sumthin else where

  • I HAD ONE OF THESE! It looked fake I thought "no one counterfeits toonies, must just be a weird one" and spent it .Now I know to watch out for them now. I deliver pizza on the weekend so I handle alot of change

  • idk about the coin sounds but im guessing your asian and when you talk sounds like theres a bunch of shit all up in your nose just thought i'd point out that uselessness just like i watched this vid

  • giving the fake to a homeless guy is a pretty dick move. You got all the fancy equipment to make this video and the homeless guy now has a fake toonie.

  • i got fake quarters

  • @tariqtariqtariq88 i got fake pennys

  • yove got a gay!!!!!!!!!

  • gayyyyyy

  • Heheheehe. I think he's gay. Legit. He had the nasaliness and the 'gay' accent

  • You know you're committing a crime, passing off a counterfeit $2 coin as a real one, even if it is to a "homeless" person. So in addition to being an ass, you're breaking the law! Hope the homeless person is an undercover cop and busts your ass.

  • @mikekoz68

I'm sorry, but you're a total douche. He was given a counterfeit toonie, which was most likely obtained from a store. Now he's going to give two dollars to a homeless person out of generosity. And you hope he's going to be prosecuted for it. Smoke some weed and get the law abiding dick out of your ass.

  • @mikekoz68 They cant do much all you need to do is say you didnt know it was real

  • I'm gonna look at my toonies a bit closer now...

  • LOL. I love that advice.. If you find counterfeit money, give it to a homeless person.

  • Who the hell is going to waste their time counterfeiting toonies?

  • @WpgLwr007 the Chinese assholes the make fake rice and fake eggs now

  • lol you give fake money to homeless people. You must feel good.

  • Did you know that CSIS ( although they deny this) actually circulated toonies that contained micro transmitters? Several of them were discovered in the pockets of American contractors that had classified security clearance.

  • @HoldItFast What? Where did you get that from? Talk about being totally wrong.

Real story: stupid American found poppy quarter in change while in Canada..way back in 2004! Look on Youtube under "Poppy Quarter Led to Spy Coin Warning" uploaded by leper99.

  • Shit ya got me it was the poppy quarter!

  • yah like if I wanna figure which one is real next time in walmart I'll sit on the ground and keep dropping two toonies....looking like a fucking retard..xD

  • They are both fake fiat money.

  • he gives it to a homeless guy..for a bj

  • bullshit

  • LMAO "give the fakes to the homeless so they can have" meanwhile 30 sec. earlier he says "If you've recieved a fake, you've lost a toonie". this guys got issues.

  • I think I just got my first "legal" 2011 steel cored loonie. It makes no ringing sound - it thuds.

Google "mint.ca composition change" and it should point you to the Mar 5/2010 information on the new 2011 steel cored toonie and loonies (which typically have been used by counterfeiters)

  • I think you can describe this (not reporting it and giving taking advantage of someone else by giving it to them) as Integration of Money Laundering which can result in a fine of up to $2 million and/or 5 years imprisonment under Part 1 of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) Terrorist Financing Act... it also doesn't really seem morally right... I'd probably report it.

  • @theEYEinTEAM a few years back, a friend got a fake 20 from a bank atm. when he went to the bank to turn it in (and get his money back).. they are all peachy at the bank and grateful. turns out the bank called the police and they had him on surveillance him for a few month; they tapped his phone, emails, etc. hes probably on some list of theirs. and, he ddnt get his money back.

so, go ahead and turn that fake money into the bank, good luck with that.if you do, YOU are the suspect

  • @JogBird

yea i would just use the damn money its not like anyones gonna actually notice or bother to check a toonie, it was a 50 or a 100 dollar bill sure... but something so small would easily go unnoticed.

  • @theEYEinTEAM Internet wise guys says; Thats because you're probably a loner/loser virgin who lives at home with his parents and you give your mommy sponge baths every Sunday....

I smell a loner, loser, parent leechin, sponge bath givin, poo dick havin, false flaggin whistle blowin terrorist...

  • Checking my loonies atm, 96, 01, 05 mmmm O.o their fine.

  • what terrorist, you are canadian, DUMB THE FUCK UP

  • You serious? It's $2... who cares...?

  • To the homeless?!?! DOOOOCHE.

  • This guy's got a major boner

  • Im canadian, and I could tell the second you put the picture up, because i've never seen a toonie in my life that is so "shiny", and had no scratches on it, that was also made in 2004 -.-

  • i like money!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's somewhat useful to know. I've probably had hundreds of toonies pass through my hands and I'd never have known if any of them were fake!

  • Marcel the Shell 3: How to Spot Fake Toonies

  • @Zouski So I'm not crazy! He sounds exactlyyyy the same only not as high pitched haha.

  • how did you find it? or get the fake 2 dollars?

  • Buy some weed with a bunch of em

  • you sound like Marcel the Shell,

  • @Yakobjsr with shoes on!!!

  • Interesting video, very informative, only caveat you knowingly pass along counterfeit money to homeless people?! Now that is one of the nastiest things I've ever heard. Shame. Why not refuse the coin when you receive it? You're quick enough to spot the fakes.

  • Definitely gotten a few of these at work. I remember thinking, is this toonie fake? And then thinking, who the fuck counterfeits a toonie? Apparently people do. This is why newfies shouldn't try their hand at crime. Stick to fishin' dere, b'y.

  • The new Polymer $100 bills look pretty cool and impossible to fake!

  • @SlidersSsSs4 There gonna find a way they always do.

  • At the start of the video, the fake one looked real to me. So, fooled me! Very interesting.

  • The only to tell if a 2$ is fake is to pop the center out. If you can just push the center out, it's a fake !

  • You're an idiot! When these toonies first came out they had flaws with the center piece coming out if it was ever dropped hard on the floor! Also all toonies will discolor as they are handled due to the acidic oil in our skin! The piece popping out, well the mint attempted to add a band that would over lip the silver piece but it was unsuccessful. some people today will use a small pvc plastic pipe and a hammer to pop the center out! Looks like you got one that someone tapped out the center.

  • no offence or nothing but you sound like the stuttering lawer from My Cousin Vinny

  • Candian loonies and toonies from 2011 on will be made of multiply plated steel (much like the quarters, dimes and nickels from year 2000 and on)

So.. The drop test means nothing. Perhaps you got a "test" coin.

  • I have never had a fake toonie, but I'm sure I had conterfit 20 sheet today :s

  • LOLOLOL WHEN YOU SAID: "i just give it to the homeless, it's not like they can tell the difference" oh man...

  • Your voice is "a bit off."

  • Lol you give them to homeless people WTF!? They are already in skid row. The last thing they need is to be arrested for trying to pass fake coins

  • hey i just spent one of these in my school cafe for a cookie!

  • I pay my organic food and my bmw with fake 2$. I have plenty of here.

  • when I saw the thumbnail for this, I thought one of them was a ten peso coin

  • dude sounds like a faggot.

  • who cares? loll it"s 2 bucks loll you can buy a coffe off of this

  • Any coin made out of anything but gold, silver and copper is fake! So actually both of these coins are fake, the only difference is that the Canadian Mint made one of them.

Technically, a genuine toonie is a government token and not a coin.

  • Wow you sound retarded.

  • you give a homeless person a boot to the curb..but thesedays who ant homeless

  • A dollar sounding drop

  • give it to a homeless person? don't homeless people get crapped on enough already?

  • A worn real toonie looks as bad as a fake.

  • This lisp of a dude Is a waste of DNA give it to homeless they dont know the diferance what a looser

  • lol "give it to homeless people"

  • If you recall, there was talk of fake quarters in Ontario several years ago. Turns out they were real, just worn smooth from being repeatedly dropped into coin machines.

  • The colour is only off because it's new.

  • So you keep spreading the fake by fooling a homeless person into thinking you are being nice to them? They then pass it on for goods at a store, maybe even get caught.... You are no better than the person who made it. Engage your brain man! Have you no integrity? Values, Ethics? You are treating the homeless as if they have no value...shame.

  • where did he get the fake

  • really i ve never had a fake toonie but i ve had a fake $5.00 bill

  • I hate to tell you all this but most of the videos on you tube are useless pointless and stupid. either some Jackass trying to prove that Brain drain is real. From the OCD repetitive videos, to over politically correct "pesrons" explaining how we shouldn't talk mean, speak our minds or express ourselves.good example "Merry Christmas" Oh crap I offended the Grinch!!

Or my personal favorite people who are limited to a four letter vocabulary and every second word starts with F!!

  • Useless video.

  • Homeless people cant tell the difference and the toonie is worthless ..

So give all the fake money to homeless people everyone...

    Vegangirl

  • Nice, LEts give all the fack currency to the bums on the street

  • no body seems to give a shit if they get a fake coin as long as they can use it :)

  • i just found a fake on the ground. Will keep it around till i can find a suitable place for it. Wishing well, perhaps.

  • @Anikan1005 ..well, i did go down to ync a few months ago and spent maybe $7-800 on restaurants, shows, etc.. so, i did my part i think.. but, if the world stops on 9/11 then the terrorists win

  • @JogBird What terrorists....seek the truth

  • @Anikan1005

    had it coming it them

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Dude! I had no idea there was fake twoonies out there. I would of thought it a waste of effor to conterfeit, but hey, I guess somebody is trying to derail us.

  • This guys voice is hilarious.

    I can't stop laughing.

  • Thats crazy.

I'm in a small rural part of Canada and didn't even know that coins can be counterfeit.

  • the homeless will do whatever they want with it? way to pass it on guy..

  • I hate your voice no offense.

    Thanks for the vid though.

  • i think i came across a fake the other day. i Noticed a difference in the edge as well

  • i think i came across a fake the other day.

  • real genius buddy

  • lol who would waste time making 2 dollars ??

  • @roughryder5 We're poor in Canada. And the bums really appreciate them.

  • @JogBird yo shut the fuck up man im canadian and you are also immitating us by you telling us we're poor you dont really seem to be a canadian

  • @JogBird that's hilarious! but oh so true lol

  • @roughryder5

It's probably easier to pass off a few coins here and there rather than bills.

  • @roughryder5 who would waste there time checking to see if a toonie is real

and did u know a roll of toonies is 50$

and passing a roll of toonies to some one is much easyer then passing a 50 dollar bill

  • @roughryder5

Replaced the former unpopular 1 dollar and 2 dollar bills.

  • @SaturnEternity No, with reference to this video...Who would waste precious time making 2 dollars.

  • @roughryder5 in the uk 2% of all 1£ coins are fake....think how many coins that really is there alot of money to be made even if your only makeing a small profit on each one

  • @roughryder5 ..it sounds like they made more than one of them... and er um.. the bank of canada?

  • @townsendjim regardless if they make more than one, the value of 2$ cannot be worth the sweat and work put into making it. And im talking about making a fake 2$ coin, not LEGAL tender.

  • @roughryder5 legal tender is NOT lawful money... it is a fake two dollar coin. you have to remember that canada is a con game and the cons print their own money.... they are also the ones that print their own fake money... scam coming, scam going, all banking is scamming

  • @roughryder5 have you seen the older chinese people from chinatown montreal when they buy eggs at iga (the grocery store)?!? they look at all the eggs, 1 at a time, all of em, for 3-5 minutes) then they open another box of eggs and look at all of em, for 3-5 minutes, then they open a third box, then a 4th box... and they bring 3-6 boxes of eggs to the cash register... and buy only 2...

that scene makes you wonder why they all go to the casino on the 1st of the month...

  • @jpichette25 wait...what are you getting at?

  • @roughryder5 we're poor in canada, like the other guy said (

JogBird, 11 months ago) if we have to look at our twonies like they look at their eggs... we're in deep shit for sure.

  • @roughryder5 Question is, who's going to question a little old lady bringing in a bag full of toonies? They're going to think she's just been saving them up for awhile, as old ladies tend to do. More to the point, it's such a small amount of money that it isn't as likely to be checked out as opposed to say counterfitting 100 dollar bills.

  • @roughryder5 He's joking, we aren't poor, but idk why the fuck someone would do that.

  • how much does an authenic toonie weigh?
