when it comes to hitting the road, the french leclerc is a beast. its engine is a bastard of an gas turbine and a diesel- great for rapid acceleration.
shredding rough landscape at 70km/h must be awesome.
i ll trade protection for hitting power, mobility and superior electronic any day.
at least when it comes to conventional tank-warfare. i mean, is there armor that withstands a 125mm DU-APFSDS-penetrator?
@AllisterCaine Clearly you're an idiot then lol, Armour protection is paramount. When everything else lets you down, armour is the only thing saving you. This being said an done, the Americans have that kind of philosophy, i.e. he who spots the target first wins the engagement, which is fine when you're in an open desert, but go into an urban environment or anywhere that is not an open expanse and it's a different story...that's why the US has lost 73 tanks and the British only 1.
I think the best looking tank here is the leopard 2 a6m. It looks so damn fine.
Also the stats on it, and the Chally 2 are very impressive. The M1 is alright, but i don't like the idea of a gas turbine engine, talk about a heat signature.. And most of the critical components were taken from the Leopard2.
The Leclerc is another nice tank. Other than that, i think the rest are junk, except the T90, i must admit i love the Shtora system.
