I have Infection and Outbreak from the first set I have been trying to get them for awhile now but I have the complete colection of G.U.. The games r amazeing and I hope I can find the second part of the original set soon so I can continue and I hope they do come out with and actual game just like this in the future. As I recall, Dot Hack was based off of a game called "Fragment". Or perhaps Fragment was based off of Dot Hack. It's hard to tell. At any rate, Fragment was a MMORPG that ended up bombing in Japan. Viruses, hackings, unfixable system glitches, etc...

They refused to release it in North America after that and shut the whole program down. Obviously, nothing as extreme as what happens in Dot Hack, but similar (without comatose people and such).

to everyone wondering about a really .hack mmorpg there was one released in japan called fragment but apparently it sucked balls and is not even online anymore in Japan. It will not be coming to North America.

I really wish that they would try to make a real .hack mmo for PC that wasn't bad because i like the story and I think they could make it work

Unfortunately I don't know all the specifics on the required OS's. MAC's may not be supported. The Required OS is mainly based on an upcoming Windows OS designed for gaming that may be released in 2013.

Hopefully MAC's are supported since they are easy to apply macro's.

And please don't ask for a source. Again, I'm not supposed to be telling. ^__^

I'm not supposed to say this but a leak occurred back in November of 2009 that "Fragment" or "The World" will be released in 2016 as a fully functional MMORPG with full customization and emotions and quests, not to mention a few "recognizable" characters in the mix.

The story line is unconfirmed so far but game-play and graphics are supposed to be top-notch. It is possible that it may be released sooner.

We've already the technology (VR headsets, digitized sensory gloves) to possibly re-create "The World" into an actual MMO. The onlt thing needing improving is Game Artificial Intelligence, and hardware/speed of the computer running the software (because anything that amazing in that detail as a real MMO would require a hefty system to run on).

@heyhowfang mabinogi sucks :| Honestly. No offense but it doesn't even compare to half of the F2P MMORPGs out there let alone the P2P ones. And the P2P ones aren't even close to the epicness of .hack// The only F2P game that has similar features(including dungeons, boss battles, portals, PVP, PVE, the choice between using your keyboard your mouse or your gamepad, and more) to .hack// is Divine Souls.

The fans have been harassing CC Corp for a .hack//MMORPG for years. :\ Good luck getting them

@KeaJaganshi Mabinogi doesn't :\ but i geuss everyone has opinion also i said mabinogi heroes / vindictus in us :x which according to ign and numerous websites its up to a 9/10 or perfect score.

It sets the pro veil to F2p AND P2P

Mabinogi's story what makes that game worth wild playing. also vindictus/ mabi heroes use gamepad too :x and the boss battles are close ,(as if the boss battles are any diff form another game.)

I've been an avid Online Gamer since I was 10 (and I'm 19 now) so I've played numerous different MMORPGs both F2P and P2P. I've played games that were better in their CBT than Mabinogi was during it's finished OBT.

If I'm correct, I believe it's actually a snippet from Aura's Theme in the games. The audio of this opening is included as a song itself, though, so it could just be for this.

I don't know, .. in the many discussions I've had with others about it, I found it would probably be quite boring. Take away all the character development and plot and .. The World isn't all that great. The leveling system is easy .. it'd take a day or two to max it out. Battling is mashing one button. Dungeon layouts are boring. Classes are unbalanced. The only way The World would make a good MMORPG is if they .. remodeled it so much, it was no longer The World.

I knew about Fragment. That was just a waste of time. I want a full-on MMORPG, that is NOTHING like the PS2 games. Something that'd be as epic as smashing WoW and Guild Wars together. I think that'd be epic. No BS like maxing ur level in a day. Something truly emersive and complicated. No "Battling is mashing one button", but as intricate as GW's system. Ofcourse they would have to remodel it, but if they kept the basic elements, it could still be The World. Don't be so pesemistic XD

What I meant was that it'd be GW-ish in the fact that areas are seperated by loading points, letting you really set up a party (Chaos Gates are already in place). I've played all the games that have come out so far. The only thing you get out of playing the original one's is some very basic added knowledge. I mean, the awesomeness of Azure Kite is only present because I played as Kite in the original games. Things like that. It isn't a direct sequel, so you can jump right into G.U. Or you could watch the first four Terminal Disc's.

That's Aura's theme in a piano version. There is a piano version of the song and there's a vocal. The piano version on the soundtrack is called, "Kite and Blackrose". There are a few versions of Aura's theme, including the game's ending theme, which I think is the best.
