  • @LvngThng You could try Yagya - Righning and Solar Fields - Leaving Home

  • What I love about this track is the grandfather clock that is in the background with a slight echo effect added

  • One of my favorite albums. A true masterpiece. Ambient music at its best. This was one of the first ambient track I've been listening to on the radio (Radio 21 in Belgium, which was really revolutionnary at its time). Since then, I've bought lots and lots of ambient cds. Other artists I also like a lot : Aphex Twin, Terre Thaemlitz, Pete Namlook, HIA, FSOL, Mana, Biosphere, Banco de Gaia, Solar Quest, ...

  • thank you, made my day,,,, been looking for this for years and years., coz i didn't know the name.......... typed tick tock into google.....beauty., sure my mate had a longer version on 12'' ??????

  • @windymiller1111 Yea mate, the track length is 14:31, Youtube vids are restricted to 10 minutes though.

  • @Waxthumper That's only if you want to upload for free.

  • @Waxthumper No they're not

  • @windymiller1111 YES!!! I know exactly what you mean! This is really great Ambient music! I can't wait to put headphones on tonight and go to sleep to this music.

  • @windymiller1111 The longer version is on YouTube. Add full song to your search. YouTube only restricts videos to 10 minutes for those who want to upload for free.

  • @mttc72 Actually the limit's been extended to 15 minutes now

  • @shadowfax273k its actually infinite now for some account (not the partners)

  • @windymiller1111 I can't believe you found it with that search string. that's quite a miracle

  • @windymiller1111 full version is 15 mins longif only youtube would accomodate for such audio beauty.

  • @spazzy5000 just look in the video responses

  • @LvngThng also checkout Dawn Chorus by Boards of Canada

  • @speier thats a good song. i have the album for that song

  • hora de durmir ... zzz... zzzz :)

    boa viaxe !!

  • This song/tune whatever it is, kinda reminds me of the music from the game Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. It's so relaxing!!

  • This was playing on SomaFM while I was sleep -- lovely tune, took me on a pleasant journey.

  • @Waxthumper : as well as KLF's "chill out" album (a true classic !), System 7's "Water Album", Solar Quest, Brian Eno of course, Tangerine Dream, Fridge, Banco De Gaia as well as my personal fav (though not electronica) Steve Roach's collab with Vidna Obrana called "Cavern of Sirens"... NJOY !

  • I just got this cd, it is a must have for any ambient lover. It's not too mellow and has some breathtaking moments. It is actually a pleasant and upbeat change from what ive been listening to over the last year. It fits perfectly inbetween meditation sessions or for passionate sex. either way you wont be let down.

  • I love this song. I heard it first on GU24. Fantastic CD!

  • @LvngThng Check out Biosphere and The Future Sound Of London also.

  • This tune is sooooo good, not heard it for 15 years but takes me back to when i toked tack and used to sit listening to this + the ORB. Sit back, relax toot and enjoy the tunes.

  • timeless classic

  • -=Perfect=-

  • SO SURREAL.

  • We're floating in space. :)

  • fav song on the album. i love the way they labeled everything on this cd, creates kind of a futuristic feeling.

  • not bad!

  • @senseactions I didn't mean super animation but those demos even before 1997 when this was composed. You look at the demos from a very negative pov.

  • @senseactions Yes, but I think the animation loses to teenage computer groups who create demos with Assembly and compete in events for fame and glory.

  • this is from 97 :O

  • @Bracs111 I remember hearing this on a Finnish alternative radio show as a teenager. Until now I couldn't find it anywhere.

  • So beautiful it's almost unreal.

  • I love this group. The music lends itself well to mystical, and surreal themes within music. I can't wait to start reading Dune with this music playing in the backround.

  • "like" alot

  • omg i can't stop listening to this. Its so great!

Truly touches my heart!. gives me goosebumps all the time XD

  • Just one of the finest moments in electronic music over the last 2 decades,as near perfection as anything i heard,, simply epic, stuns you into total appreciative silence

  • im high

  • MMMM !!!!!

  • one of the few tracks that genuinely moves me :o

  • Great Tune !!! Love Global Communication !!

  • if i had a chance to go to space i would take all of global comunications music and listed to it wile i flout in outer space

  • its truly wonderful

  • when i die and my soul starts to separate from my body, floating skywards... this will be the bgm.

  • ummm...shouldn't this song be 14 minutes and 31 seconds, not 9 minutes and 58 seconds?

  • ummm.. YouTube videos are restricted to 10 minutes unless you're a partner. Get out and buy it for the rest.

  • that makes sense....

  • u gotta be high to listen to this and watch it too

  • one of the greatest songs ever. really true music. it`s amazing

  • Moog + Korg = Heaven.

  • definitely

  • I can't really explain or express anything about this song... it's just so amazing and relaxing ! So I content myself to just listen to it and enjoy ! =)

  • Yep masterpiece!!!

  • So sad that they haven't made more, their music is beautiful, plain and simple.

  • GC have a fairly huge back catalog,, really kinda big output..

Look for Modwheel, Secret Ingredients, Jedi Knights, Cosmos, Tom Middleton,Link, Reload,, and thats just scratching the sufrace of it..Most of the secret ingredients stuff, Jedi stuff you can still pick up,,

  • Hells yeah. Listening to this while smoking pot is fucking awesome

  • lol

  • This song sounds like something from the Metroid Prime series.

    IE: fucking awesome.

  • You know that's actually very true. It was made in 1993/94 so quite ahead of it's time in a way.

  • Wow, this is like a soundtrack for a sci-fi fairytale.

  • I like how this music means something different to everyone else. For me, it's wrapping up a jay, sitting back and letting the good times roll.

  • sublime musical masterpeace

more in tune with the great composers of the last centuries than today

  • words cant describe what this tune explains!

  • if global communication made music today i would most defendantly buy it!

  • this song makes me want to buy a toyota

  • ? i wonder is this song used by toyota in u.s? it's great if it true.

cm of toyota is sucks in jp.

  • May be it's old school. But it sounds.

    Fantastic...

  • Every time I listen to this album, I think back, and I can't believe it was released in 1994.

All those years, all those memories, and I still come back to it again and again.

Most music from 1994 sounds so dated. This album was and still is one of the most unique and inspired records I've ever heard.

  • yeah no kidding.... its an old song but its still quality sound!

  • RIght. That's actually WHY it's quality. Not to say there wasn't crap made back then--but please direct me to music that doesn't suck that was made in the last few years.

  • Gallery 'In Between'. Amersham College - I had this very track on repeat as part of my first Art installation. I projected a cine film of some kids sleighing which I manipulated onto a painting that I made of some sunlit woods... All kinds of people came in and were totally spell bound! I know this track inside out and could never get tired of hearing it... it is like being reunited with an old friend and a very special time and place. Hope you are still climbing trees Simon x

  • Global Communication is amazing. When I first got into the world of electronic music, I used to think that only the most modern releases sounded good since production values in this type of music change so rapidly. Now I'm going back to discover a lot electronic albums from the early 90's and realizing that a lot of it is just incredible. Old stuff like The Orb, B12, Black Dog, Carl Craig may sound dated in 2009 but it's in a way that makes them sound like amazing artifacts from outer space.

  • @heavyboxes You are entirely right ! For me, the best of ambient music comes from the early till mid 90's. Other artists of this era : Aphex Twin (selected ambient works vol. 2), Terre Thaemlitz, Pete Namlook, HIA, FSOL, Mana, Biosphere, Banco de Gaia, Solar Quest, ... I also have every album made by the Instinct Ambient record label which I think is one of the best, along with the FAX label.

  • trippy.

  • Ahh....good stuff.

  • This guy now uses the name harmonic313 and is still making top notch music.

I heard him on benji b's radio program on bbc 1xtra and it got me to buy his album.

  • actually thats just mark pritchard, tom middleton isnt in harmonic 313

  • truely wonderful song and a fantastic album,to this day i dont know what promted me to buy it back in 1994 but im glad i did,it evokes so many different emotions and memories everytime i play it...a classic!

  • Like Eldon, I came across this track on a radio station and was taken with it. This song is absolutely glorious. The steady and ethereal passage of time...

What else amazes me (I hope I don't jinx it) is that the comments here are actually nice. Usually youtube comments are terrible. I guess that's just the power of the music?

    Peace all

  • What an amazing amazing song..I came across these guys on amazon whilst i was thrawling through the "customers who bought this album also bought" section, trying to educate myself!perfect!its true that the comments are usually horrible, and people argue over genres etc....thankfully this hasnt been tainted!imreckonin it really is the power of the music...who can argue with that?they'd be too mellow yellowd out by the end!

    Peace to you StationaryIDontMove!

    xxx

  • I don't like to disagree with you guys and ruin the mood. But I just think this type of music attracts certain types of people that might be more respectful to one another unlike other things you might find on youtube. I also enjoy this song a lot.

  • no it sound more like a big grandfather clock

  • the slow ticking sound makes this song perfect! it sound like a metronome

  • this music is incredibal espeshally for being so old it sound like todays stuff but with a better spark of thought and talent put in to it

  • This is phenomenal, pure bliss!

  • 76:14 is without doubt my favorite album off all time. I play it only sometimes,it could be because I am sad,happy,depressed,stressed...it doesn`t matter what state I am in, I can play this album and everything in the world is perfect for 76 mins.

Remotion and Blood Music are also worth checking out for ppl who dont know about them as it A Collection Of Short Stories an early Mark Pritchard/Tom Middleton project. and Tom`s album Lifetracks is a good listen

  • best global communication track ever, eternal bliss.

  • Heard this on Desimal (R.I.P.) Ambient Dub Mix and fell instantly in love. It's THE MUSIC.

  • I discovered this track while listening to a national radio station ("Classic 21"). I immediately felt in love with ambient music, and bought this album. I also bought Solar Quest, Mana, Mouses on Mars, Pete Namlook, and *every* Instinct Ambient cd ever released (Terre Thaemlitz, Seti, Facil,...). This is a true masterpiece ! A classic.

  • cos cudownego !!!! jednen z najbardziej cudownych dla mnie kawalkow ambient.

    5/5

  • amazing.....................8

  • There are moments when human inventions are so surreal and beautiful to be embraced into! And this is it!

    A masterpiece!

  • What a great comment and I agree with you

  • I love Global Communication since 1993...them,Pete Namlook,Bill Laswell,Steve Roach..my favourite album of GC is Pentamerous metamorphosis an amazing trip into 5 phases..without any doubt a masterpiece..for you guys that love this kind of ambient I suggest also Numina...try to listen his music :)

  • I discovered Global Communication with this awesome track...

As someone said, one of the best ambient tracks EVER!

I first listin 2 it on groove salad radio, n' now (thx a lot 4 share, bro) i got it on my ipod!

    chill ...

  • ahhh, i do love this tune!

reminds me of the nights, back at someone's house, all twated from dancing for 8 hours, happily at peace, surrounded by folks you love, sun coming up, curtains fully closed.

    lush

  • Its amazing how many stories i hear like this about this album. This album truely is special

  • i wish someone would post all the songs from 76:14... i just lost the copy of it!!! worst day of my life....

  • textured bliss

  • One of the best ambient tracks there is!

  • so true. one of the best tracks ever!

  • Cheers mate - so well done for putting this up!

Used to listen to it on Coldcut Solid Steel (Kiss) in the early 90s;they used to sounscape and put exerts of conversations over the top of it - brilliant!

  • I also remember the EM:T label out inthe mid 90s,,and am trying to collect those ,but they are very expensive..WOOB, FSOL, IRRISTIBLE FORCE, SYZYGY, JOURNEYMAN and GLOBAL COMMUNICATION all awesome artists. My favourite albums are REMOTION ,MANA 6, LIFEFORMS,76:14, MORPHIC RESONANCE ,GLOBAL CHILLAGE,EM;T 003 AND 004

  • i had a stack of these DC's at the company I worked for. i so with I'd nicked them! they had great sleeve designs on them, beautifully packaged. and some quality quality chilled electronica

    good old Woob ;)

  • i have just purchased REMOTION by Global communication from Amazon..WHAT AN ALBUM!I loved and was in awe of Cascade by FSOL and have most of there new re released cds Environments is spellbinding

  • Remotion is also a fantastic album. Actually the there early albums Blood Music,Remotion and 76:14 are all classic, really fantastic sounds. their newer album Fabric 26 isnt really up to that standard as its more hip hop/dance influenced but still pretty decent

  • It was much harder to produce this kind of music back then - much more manual labor to the process, simpler textures, but better sound. It's easier to create and mix sounds like this now just using a PC. Maybe the lesser time spent means less creative thinking is given to the music. Back in the day, we had to work for it (and walk a mile in the snow, uphill, to school).

Haven't heard "Hearts of Space" in a long time, on public radio - still on the air?

  • Sure is. They've got a website, too.

  • Wonderful ambient track, simple and effective. Just beautiful.

  • i want those heroic early 90s ambient times to come back! i really miss these feelings from nowadays music... :(((

  • Tell me about it.. no period in time can compare. Albums like this and the Future Sound of London's Lifeforms can't be touched in terms of musical quality, originality and Genius.
