wow. this is different than I've seen before with all the other distress ink vids out there. never used a paint brush to apply it... I've now used a Q-tip to apply the ink, and it gives it a scribbled crayon looking like effect.. pretty kewl.
i love this look though. wow. will have to try it now
My husband is going to be upset with me because I went on his account, and I'm sure this will pop up on his watched videos, but Thank you so much for some reason I thought distressing was complicated but you made it look really easy. Thank you
could u use water colored paints for the "ink" i dont own much for scrap booking and have just started to collect supplies and I wanna start getting into it in a more intense way (supplies, techinques etc) let me know of some cheaper tips and alternatives please!!!
WOW! Thanks so much for sharing, I always wanted to use distress inks but was too afraid to mess it up. I ink my edges all the time and I love the look, but I am going to try distressing. Thanks again!
You are so welcome! This way is much cleaner I think, plus you end up using less ink. My ink pads have lasted forever, I bought the refill bottles and still have yet to use them. I've had my pads over a year and I use them all the time.
Marion, do you have to spray the antique papers with an archival spray to make it acid free? Or does the distress ink take care of that for you. Beautiful technique btw. :)
Yes you should spray them with archival spray if you want your great, great, great, great grandkids to see your pictures without them turning yellow lol. To be honest I don't use it because by the time the acid effects the photos I'll be long past dead and the people who look at them won't have a clue who I am anyway. most people try to get that look anyway? lol
Yes you can use all of those except chalk. With chalk you want to apply it with a brush the whole time instead of putting directly onto the edge of the page with the pad.
That was awesome!! do someone know if it`s possible to buy distress inc in Norway?

hi i was wondering if u could use any other inks (pigment, chalk, dye) for this technique?

Yes you can use all of those except chalk. With chalk you want to apply it with a brush the whole time instead of putting directly onto the edge of the page with the pad.
