Actually, if the song is in A, then that other chord makes more sense as F#m. Try just playing A to F#m and it makes a passable chord change for that tune. Play A to D7, and not so much.
@xfiles For the verse, it goes A to A7, then that D7 (covering the low E at the second fret, instead of the high E). On that D7, you go on and off with the B string. The only other chord is an E when he sings the word "season."
Yes i'm here because of a commercial. Glad that I found this one, thanks for the post. Just started playing guitar a few years ago and get all of my lessons from the web. Thanks!
Thanks so much for posting this. I scoured every tab online to try and work out the chords and the pulloffs but everything out there is wrong. Your video is the first thing I could find that gets it right. Thanks again!
Thank you for playing the song all the way through! Nice? What a super pretty axe!

@LyricalDancer If you play A to F#m, you're not playing this song. You've written a new song.

@privettricker He's just saying it would make more sense because F#m is in the key of A. D7 is not.

Nice add. Fun to jam with. Never could figure out that second chord. But you got it. Is that some sort of D7 inversion?
NCWharfRat 2 years ago
Yeah, it's a D7, but you play the F# on the bass E string instead of the high E string, which just rings open.
A pretty handy chord, e.g., it's the third chord in Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and some other popular ones.
