  • whoa...you didn't really think you would happen across a diamond down on the Yuba, did you? most likely some form of quartz...

  • I am a gold prospector in the amazons and I make my living of gold prospecting, do you make your living of this, or it is just a pastime?

  • Im hardcore into prospecting and just getting started. from my understanding, theres no gold in illinois and thats where im located, but saw a sign that said illinois crossing.. may i ask where you were located in this video??

  • @martialartist34 Gold Mining On The Yuba River in northern California hit the more info tab on the video

  • @martialartist34 There is very little gold in Illinois but there is gold i live on the Sangamon river and have panned acupple of little flakes of gold with a considerable amount of time but fun finding gold where people say there is not gold but there is.

  • great video!! thanks :)

  • That water is crystal clear.. thanks for the video

  • words aren't necessary, a picture or video speaks thousands of words. very nicely done, excellent camera work. looking forward to watching your other vid's. added you to my 'subscribed' to list, so looks i'll have lots of hours to take it all in. Should be in NM next month. Organ Mtns. n. of El Paso just east of Las Cruces for winter, then out to northern calif., Yuba City was in my plans, so your vids fits right in for me. Thanks for caring to share. MnLare

  • keep the pain underneath your sshifter when filling it. keeps you from missing any ;)

  • ist that yuba city cuzz i live there

  • i love panning in the yuba river we have our own secret hole where found a nugget in my pan it was so exciting and I cant wait to go back.

  • The real treasure is the river itself. The South Yuba is my favorite in California. There are some great swimming holes...

  • You can use ultraviolet light in a dark room to determine if it is a diamond or not. It will be colorized.

  • haha cool video had a giggle hope ur wife liked the "Diamond"

  • nice sounding 12. what kind is it? nice bottom end. boomier than my dean. youmight be discarding enough blacks to sweat losing a little fine, but i doubt it. you started with a fairlysmall amt and did a good job of panning. the alternative is packing extra poundage out of the river bottom for maybe 1/4 grain of oro.

  • I had the same problem with thinking I found a diamond but it is Mica,if you take the last bit of cons home and dry it out you can look through a magnifying glass (mine is 40x mag. ) and you will see alot more than you think

  • 6:12 what is that on the bottom right corner

  • Hello. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.

I would really like to know where you got your crevice sucker you use in this video. (Gold Mining on the Yuba River). I would like to get one because it looks like the perfect size, etc. Thank you very much. Charlotte - flappingwings7@aol.com

  • Nice...

  • Thanks for the video. Seeing the trail down to the yuba brings back some great memories. That's where I learned to pan and caught the fever. I live in Idaho now and try to make a trip back to the south fork every summer. I can't wait for the next trip now!

  • does the mineral in question scratch glass? if so its not glass. if u have a tungsten carbide scribe (hardness 8.5-9.0), which costs only a couple bucks, that will tell u if its corundum, which is a gem, or harder

  • whats the name of the song

  • lol i was right there at that same spot at 2:10 camping a little bit up and we came down and tried panning

  • Their is no gold in that mine.... Where were you. It is a long walk to the river from the poster sign.. At the 1 min mark.....How long was the hike? i want to go their in sometime. That looks like a great spot...Dave your panning is awsome.. I enjoyed the red dirt in the water... Awsome. now i can see its glass..

  • See the damn bottle in the tunnel that sucks so badly bring it in pack it out !

  • bush cheney =(

you support the killing of thousands of young americans men and women?

and the man who spent the surplus of money we had left from klinton?

  • Sry I never called you. Im in school and would love to go with you. Id went to dean rd last week and got luckey. Iv been going out once an a while, but ive been doing home care and its been taking up some of my time. Thanks for the invite maybe you should email me like more than once. I just got a super crevise sucker. Very nice church videos, Ive watched one or so... Jess

  • Very nice, you guys seem to have lots of fun doing all this. Better luck with the diamonds next time. Nice gold findings though :)

  • All that exposed bedrock - perfect. If water at one time ran over it, it most certainly left some gold deposits in those crevices and holes of the bedrock. Many times, the bedrock is under a lot of water and other soil deposited on top of it.

  • hi there!

when panning out, you should keep more of the 'black sand- heavies' bring home/shop, dry it out and can easy blow or magnet the rest... you'll keep more flakes and other fine gold than panning right to the end like that.

love the vids keep them up!!!

  • Thanks for the tip.More vids to come Thanks

  • when you entered the old mine, you should've had some safety equipment with you, and a metal detector!!!

  • lol...funny ending...you guys did good, lots of color showing and some nice large flakes. looks like you had a good time and that's what it's all about.

  • well, you got the music, now all you need a log and brad and you got yourself deliverance 2.

  • Very beautiful place. The water sounds cool. I wish it was a diamond!!! Maybe next time?

  • Awsome video. To bad that wasen't a dimond...lol... Well tks for posting, and I wen't to the frks of the buttes and got skunked, I only panned for about an hr, then went swiming..
