  • it would be better if they put different colors on the lights!

  • Cause we're 3 cool white friends in japan!

  • MELCOME

  • c it pliiz

  • friggen pwn4ge

  • 3 dimensional printing, if this machine was longer it could make 3d objects instead of just on the 2d plane. it's making ribbons with holes in it right now but it could just as easily print a car. with something besides water it could really print a car. there are a lot of different ways to do it.

Please peeps of youtube think before you speak/type.

  • That's Crazy! They should do that for advertising, instead of wasting more energy on electricity...

  • @Gamnash4 Oh my god, I can't believe I said that! LOL I wonder if I really thought I was making a point...

  • that's amazing. O.o

  • that's pretty cool! We're not that far behind either! Bellagio's little wanter fountain is pretty cool too! Of course, this is more unique with the shapes and what not...

  • lol this is like inkjet printing on the air with water :P

  • O.O

  • That was hilarious and awesome! Those Darn Japanese come up with some pretty cool stuff! ^_^

  • isnt fake, it basicly used a head like a inkjet printer to regulate the amount of water so precisely.

  • Then your 80 percent wrong! The japanese are amazing. They can do that. Its all about the timing of releasing the water out of valves that are all wired to a system that controls it. Like a printer.

  • really superb

  • my favorite part was the welcome to canal city part

  • OMG!

  • Think about this, art fans: They had to program in the fact that the rate of drop increases each moment, so they had to factor that in, in order to not make the stuff look stretched-out. Probably easy to do with computer program, though.

  • It starts to stretch toward the bottom, but they did a real good job with that.

  • Leave it to the Japanese for such innovation.

  • Thats Rearry, rearry cool!

  • I'm so ronery

  • I have to go to the bathroom now.

  • hushaushua

  • its ok

  • no, it much more than OK. It's Gorgeous, one of the most beautiful fountains i've ever seen. see if you can find a fountain anywhere else that can do that.

  • that's really cool.

  • AWESOME!

  • look it up guysm, it was made by kuzaro mitsume

japanese jenius wrote the program, its just a complex program ....normaunderwood its just nuts... chill dude... not everything cool comes from the u.s...

  • This was not invented by the Japanese but a professor from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee; Steve Pevnik. I was in his class when he showed us the prototype years ago.

  • The guy who designed this is Steve Pevnik, a professor at UWM-Milwaukee. I had him for 3D design and Computer Graphics and he took our class to see it in a warehouse. He had one at the Atlanta Olympics and was supposed to have one used in the Batman movie with Mr. Freeze but that fell through. The Japanese did not invent this, it was from the good old USA, Milwaukee no less.

  • omg these folks are just wicked sick...

  • How could I have one of these? Would you please help me?

  • Could anyone tell me how is it possible to make such a thing or where are these funtains are sold?

    I highly appreciate your help

  • i hear some Korean guy made it. took him 10 years to perfect it. They use a laptop to program what it will say

  • totally not created by a Korean guy but Steve Pevnik, an art professor at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I saw this years ago in a warehouse.

  • what does it say?

  • amazing, pretty easy concept with the light and releasing and stopping the water, but with that kind of tech it should be easy

  • Wow, the Japanese would do something like this

  • this is too ah-mazing for words.. O_o

  • AWESOME!!!! What city in Japan is this incredible fountain located in?

  • in Canal city, Japan i think

  • Thanks so much !!!

    Deb

  • Err that's not a name of a city in Japan, it would be pretty silly if it was. It's actually a commercial center called Canal City, situated in Fukuoka's entertainment district.

  • corey your just mad because the japanese have cooler things before you get to see them. this is freakin crazy

  • not that cool it at the Detroit NAIAS every year

  • ya, its not that cool because you see it once a year, whatever. I like it.

  • does any one know who made it...?

i wanna have one ... its superb

  • The wonders of technology...

  • omg thats amazing

  • Amazing! I could watch it all day!

  • That is unbelieveable..

  • 0:58 water boobies!!!!

  • I'd love to watch the whole thing, but the audio has caused me to have to use the bathroom.

    ;-)

  • kul

  • Does anyone know who made this and how to contact them?

  • THAT LOOKS SO AWESOME!!!

i could watch it all day even if i had to pee... lol

  • brilliant!

  • That is SO cool!!!!

  • I Rember Seeing Something Like This on a Show Called Beyond Tomorrow

  • Same water each time. Its just how the lights shine through it that give the shapes and letters. Really cool though.

  • Actually is the water falling at some time or not that is making the shapes...

  • that doesn't explain the AUDIO very well...

  • OMG that is so sweet!

  • thats fucking sick man so awesome i think its computer-operated..

  • I don't know, maybe there are ninjas with samurais chopping all the water streams.

  • /\

    O / \

    0 \ / \/ Sooooo cool!

  • very cool

  • Is this in Fukuoka's canal city?

  • And to Dragon307, yes, this is Fukuoka's canal city.

  • you mean... fuck you ok's canal city? lol, just thought it was funny

  • Dude what the hell are you talking about? "fuck you ok's canal city?" What does that even mean? And I don't recall commenting on anything you said, so don't hit reply on something random.

  • Japanese Allways on the cutting Edge

  • Anti-productive chatter from a guy with little insight as to how amazing this actually is! (directed at Alienrobot3x3 and to those others who miss the point)

  • I want to play an FPS on it.

  • wow the physicist and engineer who made this are quite amazing.

  • Wow, very cool. I kept expecting an Obama ad to drop down at anytime...

  • lol.

  • How does it work? did they just configure the sprinklers to drop at certain time and speed or is it mainly a shadow due to certain lights that are being switched off and on?!

  • I think they configured the sprinklers to drop at a certain time and speed.

  • It was a process called discrete water. Droplets were controlled by a computer program like pixels.

  • awesome, gotta love the japs

  • That was cool, thanks for sharing this.

  • If anyone ever throws a penny in there, they are screwed!

  • japan rocks this is another reason this is AWESOME!!!

  • lol i juat got this in a email

  • Where exactlly is this place. How do I get there. I want to see it. Seriouslly.

  • See what you can do when you don't spend your money on wars and shit!

  • Indeed .... indeed.

  • No big deal, I pee like that everyday...LOL...Seriously though, this is freekin awesome

  • Japs man... Fuck thats awesome

  • they had that at taylor swifts concert.
