  • What's great about this young man is he's not just playing scales, he's taking chances too, and that's what jazz is all about. Great stuff!

  • I love it.. haha.. he's comping behind Martin and you can smell those wheels turning upstairs!!

  • AMAZING to be this good at playing at such young age !!

  • It's fucking amazing, there no words, he reminds me Bireli

  • Isn't he wonderful?

  • Why does he always botch the hook?

  • @tgphotodesign trying to harmonize dude. it could be cleaner tho

  • Still prefer Taylor's playing... Sorry, his musicality is just WAY better. Call it experience, doesn't matter.

  • alguien lo dijo , las palabras estan contuidas para desapareser , la musica perdurara, hasta el fin , felicidades pequeño gigante.....

  • Benson licks

    Well done

    What a talent a natural

check him out causally soloing over Donna Lee

  • lolwoot?

  • isn't she lovely?

  • What blow my mind about Varady is the authenticity and musical integrity of his improvising. In a word, he could just as easily be a 30+ year old professional jazz guitarist. Simply phenomenal, that kid.

  • Simply stunning!!

  • GENIO ! MUY BUENO

  • I think Martin is pretty impressed!

  • Jiss Birelli !!!

  • oh my god is not fair

please, give it to me next life

  • It's fantastic to see young kids interested in Jazz guitar. Really great duo, beautiful.

  • @alexthepsyco indeed, i myself am 19 years old, and LOVE jazz, and playing jazz. But none of my friends listen to it, kinda sad....

  • that kid is so awesome.

  • He used to be my friend in limerick in the JFK school

  • @123coolearl

Was he like a normal kid, you know, to talk to?

  • @Drblooter99 Lol good question.

  • @xcaluhbration

Probably didn't talk much: busy thinking about improv!

  • @Drblooter99 Haha yeah I know right?

  • @Drblooter99 He plays in Cork a lot. I met him while he was playing in a pub one evening with his brother. Nice kid! But normal you say? If only being able to play like this was normal! ;-)

  • @velvetunderpants44

Yeh, he came to Cardiff, and in the break he was kicking a football up and down the pub!

  • @Drblooter99 ya he was a normal kid he lived near me and he goes to the market with his dad to play the guitar and he moved somewhere in the north of ireland XD

  • i used to see this kid all the time in limerick market and knew he was gonna be something special!

  • You can tell he is on his way shadowing Bireli. Look at the way he plays, he doesn't look at Martin at all, hes in his own world and nothing else currently exists. But, if he is to truly be the next Bireli, he'd better master rock, metal, fusion and gypsy jazz and pretty much every single style imaginable, I pray this kid is under great advisement and cant wait to hear some of the masterpieces he will create on an hourly basis.

  • This kids a natural

  • @guitarclubca @rwm48 Actually, his father is a guitarist and he's been playing since he was 4. He's also attended the Limerick Jazz Workshop and the Skidmore Jazz Institute. He definitely has a talent for jazz well beyond his years, but he's not self taught by a long shot. Hopefully, he has some good people around him that will allow him to prosper from his talent and don't treat him like a circus monkey.

  • Andreas.......1 in 100 million or more? This young kid plays completely by ear and can not read music. Wow.....absolutely amazing and born with god given talent.

  • Somebody send this to Zaakk wylde! ha ha! Amazing young man!

  • Next guthrie?

  • SK POWA! ;)

  • Not hatin or whatnot, but even tho its very rare to be able to play so good at this age, it gives me the same feel as when I saw bireli on electric with defrancesco: all flash, no actual blues or lyricism. But then again, I'm a hardcore Grant Green fan so that may explain my allergy to flash in traditional jazz guitar playin... Your solo was way more constructed and had actual meaning. Very nostalgic, I loved it.

  • @SlikkTim fuck off and shut up nigger boy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • greattttttttt

  • de la bombe!!! se ptit est un virtuose!!!

  • I just cannot believe what I just watched, There's some stuff around when Birelli was a young lad but this is something else. What a generous fab guy Martin is to showcase this.

  • With a name like Martin Taylor, he should be able to hang with this kid! :)

  • Isn't HE lovely?

  • This kid Is by far the best kid guitarist that I've ever herd

  • @SamoMarshall - have you seen Anton Oparin before? This little guy is amazing as well, but I'm not a big fan of jazz myself.

  • @evolutionmb

One of the benefits in jazz is that so many melodies, so many songs are used to play jazz. It keeps these tunes alive...the best from the 20's on...an archive of music that can be played in your own personal style. Of course, blues does that, but there are simply stronger melodies on other material than what blues has in it's history.

Take Harold Arlen tunes, for instance...Hoagy Carmichael, Rodgers and Hart, RIchard Rogers, Tom Waits...all the great masters of melody.

  • Respect, respect respect!!!!!!!!!!

  • Isn't She Lovely

  • Speechless....

  • which planet he is from again?????

  • unreal - unreal

  • where's my jaw? ...the new Birelli..no doubt!

  • @Qpidon i agree with you Pascal!

  • where's my jaw?

  • Saw Martin and Andreas in the Queenns Hall Edinburgh - an amazing young man!

  • I'm awestruck to say the least.

  • WOW. That is so awesome. The person who taught this kid should win an award - and, the kid deserves every bit of praise he receives. Amazing, young man!

  • O vei! Anyone wanna buy a guitar cheap?

    Bravo, laddie.

  • @houseofcharm Hey! I have 7 to sell myself after watching this!

  • Ridiculous!! (In a good way!)

  • Fantastic!

  • Yeah Andeas!

  • Very Nice! Love this song :-) It's always great to see young people play the guitar with passion!

  • Fabulous. I'm a student on the Martin Taylor Guitar Academy online and its great to see the next generation of jazz guitarists coming through. Bravo....

  • Amazing performance by Martin & Andreas. Was actually at the concert where this was filmed and the 600 capacity audience gave them a standing ovation that night.
