You shouldnt start off in 3rd its hard on the clutch. Only start up in 1st or second in high range or rabbit, you can start off in any gear in low range or turtle. We have the same tractor.
We are dealers of Kubota engines and spares and have just set up a forum for users to share their experiences and find help with any problems they may have. Check out the forum on our website.
also things are swapped, my shifter is right hand side of the seat same with hand throttle, and where your turn signals in is where the forward and reverse shift is
I wrote these comments while waiting for it to load, now i look at it i messed up we dont have the same tractor. I have the M6040 a little bigger. With a full cab and all gears are full synced so you dont have to stop. Real nice
Nice Bota. I got a cabbed Kubota Grand L 4240 that I use for snow clearing. Great machine and it's got the HST. I would never go back to a geared tractor after using the HST machine. Never heard of a HST problem with the Kubota's. I do feel that the geared tractor would be better for farming though. Nice video!
@KB3GZW thats right, cutting brakes no longer work as cutting brakes when the diff is locked, because even if you press only the left or right pedal the axle is solid and it will slow both wheels
I can tell my Iseki 538 is easyer, No clutch or any other annoying things. Its a pedal to go forward and one to go reverse, hydrolics controlled by two joysticks. bla bla.... You should get a Iseki 538 with a cockpit!
Iseki is pretty much like Kubota, but I find Iseki better.
Thats called hydrostatic. The last two tractors had it, and i couldnt stand it. Theyre convienent, but start to.......fail...... with things like plowing and discing. I'll take my clutch!! lol
Deff. with the clutch has a way better feel to it, i never had one before all i had was hydrostatic, then about a year ago i got the same tractor and ill never go back
@jollekotte Damn, I'm only 15 years old and i could run, say a 1975 IH 1466, but I need a clutch and gear shift. If you need gas pedals, you need to learn a little about how to operate a tractor
@jollekotte no, no I didn't mean to offend you, I just was stating that operating a manual shift tractor is a valuble skill, even in the present world.
Thanks dude, I have driven bigger stuff (backhoes, excavators) and stuff like that but none of the little loaders. :) I assume those brake pedals have the switch to lock them both for on-road travel and stuff so you don't have to hit both pedals.
lol! my 1952 case wont even turn that good with the brakes! it practically has no brakes left! its very hard to stop on a hill! youd think that would be something that shouldhave been fixed along time ago! just never got new brakes yet! ill be doing some tree removal this weekend!
dirty tractor... :-)

@prestologs you dont have to do a walk around and check the oil every time my 76 yr old great uncle usually only does a walk around after we work.

Much thanks for making the video. I plan to buy one for our property in Bama, and needed to start getting some smarts on the basic operation.

I'm ashamed. You didn't do a quick walk-around inspection or even check the oil before you started it. Amateur, gotta lot to learn.

Thats a very nice tractor you got!
