What instrument is being played in the middle? It sounds kinda like a flute.

my music mentor/producer recorded that solo for me on a kyboard but he gave it sort of a norse flute sound. we were gonna make it sound like a bagpipe but went with flte instead. eeh you like?

Yea I like it. Its always good to add things like that into a heavy sound. It gives a different quality to the song and not enough guys do that sort of thing.

Have you checked out Blood Axis yet? If not they are a great band that does that sort of thing but to the extreme. They add in all sorts of crazy sounds and are big on incorporating speeches into their work. Check out a song called, The Gospel of Inhumanity, its very intense.
