  • How much would fuel efficiency suffer if you chipped this car?

  • How do you like the 6 speed?

  • Which would be a better pick for performance TDI or the SEL, your saying Chipped makes the same hp would that be the better way to do a TDI chipped?

  • Where do you get your aftermarket parts for the car, and where do you get them installed? Like that display that shows torque, speed, RPM, etc? I have a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta S TDI almost identical to yours and I want to put some aftermarket parts on it. Please Respond, Thanks.

  • Guys crysis fucked you. Discover small engines now! Enjoy european cars :)

  • ohh.. this one is called the Volkswagen Golf here in europe.

  • @belgiumlife no, it's not there's 2 types already Jetta and Golf, i mean golf + or something i don't remeber now. by the way its really similar to this one.

  • @Krys519 well the jetta in europe is alot different

  • cole brasilllllllllllll

  • I am considering a Sportwagen, how do you like yours so far and what kind of mileage are you getting?

  • Do you consider the SportWagen a "trade up" from the sedan? I was thinking about getting either this or the upcoming Passat, with TDI.

  • Cool lookin' car.

  • Mr1wd:

The thing starts right up on cold days. It's much better than even a gas car.

The one annoying thing is how easy it is to stall in 1st and 2nd.

  • I find the upper 50's in mpg when doing 50mpg amazing. Fuck you prius!

  • @rockindoodcm : yeah sure and fuck environment too huh ??? come and live in Paris with all those fucking TDi all over, 80% of cars are TDi, and well it smells awfull here !

americans don't need those horrible engines ! hope they will not make it their best seller !

  • @Tsargate It's called clean diesel. I don't know what you have in France, but the American versions are great. The best part is that they out preform hybrids with better mileage :D

  • @rockindoodcm : diesel engines are horrible with NOX pollution, even if you think it's "clean" diesel, it will never be as clean as petrol in fact, you can trust me cause we have those engines here since long time ;) , and all the big cities with care...puke :D .

but yes i do not say they are bad as everyday car, cause alot of torque for example and yes good mileage, but if you want a good clean engine, stick still to hybrid or petrol.

  • @Tsargate it's not the same as a traditional diesel engine, like the one's you have in Europe. I know what your talking about about the smell, i've driven behind a truck. These engines don't have that. It tdi is 100X more cost efficient than a comparable prius with a lower msrp, more power, more mpg, and lower maintenance.

  • @rockindoodcm : we have the same engine here with all the stuff so it's won't make smoke etc...don't forget we invented them in Europe ;) .

for maintenance, you will have surprises : turbo damage and all that goes around it, less reliable than petrol or hybrid engines in fact.

but as long as you guys enjoy it ;) .

  • @Tsargate diesels last a long time though... a lot longer than a petrol.

  • do you have problem starting up on really cold days? thats my only concern with getting a tdi

  • This is not a Jetta :S this is a Golf mk6 Variant (wagon) ;)

  • @dsito2

    Yes its indeed a Golf

Fail to the one who posted the video lol

  • @allen915jones They haven't re-designed the wagon model yet. Honestly, i hope they never do because according to consumer reports the new jetta is a lot chinsyer than the old one.

  • @rockindoodcm I've seen the new Jetta, i think it was the SE trim, in person. It sucks, there's so much plastic it looks like they sourced their interior from Mattel, not to mention worse steering and brakes. The good news is that the upcoming GLI trim (the Jetta equivalent to the Golf GTI) puts back in the Euro-spec interior, steering, brakes, etc. But if you want a good diesel go with the much more practical and fun-to-drive Golf TDi or Jetta SportWagen TDi.

  • @allen915jones That's the non wagon version. the new wagon is still nice.

  • Anybody? Anybody?

  • I own one and I love the car. Excellent vehicle.

  • Doesn't diesel pollute the environment?

  • @heartlessvietboy Clean diesel runs much cleaner than before. So much cleaner that it passes California's emission laws; and they are the strictest in the nation. Last year the TDI won Green Car of the Year.

  • Do you know the exact carbon dioxide emissions of Diesel compared to Gasoline? How about other gasses? Please send me one sheet of all facts only. Because I am leaning towards the possible fact that diesel may be a better fuel than gasoline, if it is cleaner now than before.

  • @heartlessvietboy I posted my response on your page. For some reason I can't do it on here. Probably because of the links.

  • @heartlessvietboy This diesel is called clean diesel with DPF. It has less pollution than most gas cars. In fact, pollution is subjective. Diesel fumes are large and much easier to trap then stuff from gas vehicles. Also because the particles are larger and heavier, they don't float around in the air as much either.

  • Clean Diesel I believe uses additives to reduce the level of fumes (sulfur) that are produced after combustion.

  • @heartlessvietboy No, this 2.0L TDI has a DPF. The particulates are captured, compressed, and at a regular interval, re-injected into the engine/exhaust to be burned up. No urea needed.

  • @heartlessvietboy everything polutes, but this polutes alot less. u use less fuel, thats the trick ;)

  • It's not everything pollutes. Its almost everything pollutes.

  • Sportwagen? LOL!

  • @danessz93 Don't knock it till you try it. It is a very nice car.

  • What chip do you have for 200 HP and 300 TQ.

  • Sir, do you have any weapons on your person? 0:45 ......

  • How big is the MPG discrepancy between the Scangauge and the the car's on board computer?

  • Compared to to my car, the base model looks feature packed!

  • Such a good-looking car! I want one!

  • my opinion... turbo diesels r a waste of time.... and make way to much noise. if my vehicles loud i want it to b because of the exhaust... not bc my engine sounds like its gunna fall apart. just sayin..

  • @jeepinit32

Diesels are made stronger than gasoline engines and small diesels such as the one they used in this car doesn't make alot of noise. Just sayin.

  • Diesel isn't more refined isn't it? How come it contains 16 carbons compared to gasoline 8?

  • @jeepinit32 It's really not that loud like the older TDI models. I use to say the same thing because my buddy had a TDI. I thought the car was broke lol, but it runs more quite now.

  • err idk how to get my videos full screen, if you have time tell me what you did to upload this video, ive tried everything...

nice car dude i love Volkswagen, still have the Rx8 right?

  • TORRRRRRRQUE

  • "smoked" headlights is the worst idea ever for a clean diesel car. It kind of reminds of old dirty smoky diesel which is exactly what VW wants people to forget. Other than that this is a handsome car. I might buy one next year. Nice review BTW.

  • I'm not gonna lie, the intensity of the diesel engine scared my ears, and when you "ran over" the camera it freaked out my eyes.

  • I LOVE this car, hopefully getting something similar soon

  • You probably know this already but in the glove compartment there's a bracket at the top so you can put the owners manual booklet in there without taking space in the compartment itself...pretty neat. I own a White Gold JSW, manual too.

  • Did you have some tint put on the top of your windshield?

  • @commonsense369 Yes, it has 22% tint all around, including the top of the front window.

  • Can you fit a 80 inch long RC Plane in the back with the rear seats down?

  • @moocowyz125 The biggest I would put is a 76" and even then youd have to take the elevators off . Trailers are nice for those big planes though and will keep them from getting damaged .

  • funny to see you american guys discover the DIESEL engines , here in france we have enough of it, too much everywhere !

  • @Tsargate Americans are discovering roundabouts as well!

  • @Tsargate US Automakers don't have Diesel Engine options with the exception of trucks

  • @Tsargate and its also funny to see people in France speaking English.

  • @jatt87gill : almost everyone now in france learns english as primary second language, next i guess will be chinese ;-) , me i lived in Michigan for 2 years, so it doesn't count and i married a chinese woman lol !

  • @Tsargate good shyt bro! you are actually putting your 100% in globalization :P

  • @Tsargate

    Same here in India.

  • who's jetta is this

  • what is that Thing on ur Stearing wheel, with the RPM reading?

  • @jattboyzca

Scangauge2. I have it reading out the coolant temp on the top right. I would like to get the codes for boost too, haven't gotten one that works yet.

  • is this your new car or did u just make a video for it? also i had no idea it was that good on gas. ... not bad for only 140hp

  • sexy

  • looks soo weird.

  • Sweet car! Those new common rail TDIs are so quiet. I have a 2001 Golf TDI and it's great. The HD quality of this video looks really good.

  • anyone knows when the new sedan will come out?

  • @Vagmonster666 ......... this fall the new 2011 model will be out

  • thank you!

  • @Vagmonster666 it did before the wagon...
