  • 2:49 LOL

  • I am the 16000 :D

  • would a hd 5850 fit on this cause its kinda huge card/???

  • @vivelehardcore Yep it will fit,any videocard basically fits on any PCI-E Motherboard.

  • 3.0 usb ftw!

  • @OverLord4141 yes your fucking right i hate the way they did the ram slots

  • Comment removed

  • loll my sata cables were blue :P

  • this is not a freestyle .. Eminem .. ??

  • Funny unboxing. But loved it. Your honest wich makes it funny. My current system is this:

    Motherboard: BFG nforce 680i sli

CPU: intel Core 2 Quad Core Q6600 overclocked @ 3 GHz form 2.4 GHz

Memory: 2 Gigabytes of Crucial Ballistix Tracer Ram dual channel

Video Card: BFG tech 9800 GT eco friendly version

Primary Hard Drive: 160 GB Western Digital SATA II

Secondary Hard Drive: 80 GB Western Digital EIDE (transitioning every thing to SATA)

Power Supply: Raidmax RX 530 (530 watt)

  • My case sticker was different and my sata cables were a different colour

  • One thing I'd like to know is.... Will an Xfi-Titanium Pro Series sound card fit behind that fat north bridge cooler?

  • i have this board and the fucking pricks swapped the memory slots

  • DO NOT BUY THIS!

Because if you want to use USB 3.0 and SATA 3, the graphic card wont run at 16x but at 8x!

Its normal if you disable USB 3.0 and SATA 3!

  • @MrKozeljko This is a p55 Chipset problem and not a Gigabyte problem. Well known.

  • hey m8 ive bought that motherboard and ive installed everything etc.. when i start it up its just beeping something error? do you know what it might be? heres the stats.. i5 quad core 4gb 1600mhz 5850 gpu

  • @vugy1231 i had the same problem with the ram duel Chanel put them in the wight slots

  • haha I thought it was funny too. Nice unboxing.

  • may have been painful to you but i thought it was funny :)

  • I'm gonna buy this one with a i5 :D

  • @ale050505

    ME too:D:D

    Gonna buy i5 750 and corsair h50 cooling :D

  • Have ordered the same one with a i7-860

and a noctua mounting kit for 391,- euro

  • @kann1alles

Very good choice, you won't regret it for the years to come. Have fun :)

  • thanks and a happy new year , but im still

wait for the package to arrive cause the

    mounting kit isnt available :(((

  • @kann1alles Thank you, wish you a very happy new year too. Oh, that's so frustrating! My workstation config: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P i7-860 - 3.46 GHz Turbo only, no OC. Corsair Denominator 1600MHz 2x4 GB (8-8-8-24) Samsung spinpoint F3 - 2 x 1 TB Sapphire ATI 5770 DDR5 1 GB Asus VK246H 24" LCD Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1900 DVD: Sony AD-7241S DVD player: Sony DVP-NS710H/B (standalone on this machine and wall mounted LCD) OSes: FC 12, openSUSE 11.2 and Win7 Pro x64 Hope that helps :)
  • @akula2shark

Woah, nice! We almost have the same setup. ^^ Are you using stock cooling in Turbo mode? Im afraid to set it to turbo just in case it might overheat like crazy...

I'll be posting a video of my setup soon, I just built it today. :)

  • @MrDeadly0ne

Welcome to 860 club and Congratulations :)

Where my spec comment gone lol? Anyway, don't be afraid...trust me. You can *always* run the stock cooler between stock and Turbo mode freq. unless you are running a good GPU like 5770 (be it a single card) or you do lot of OC or both! Google to read this for Tom's:

"Is It Worth Upgrading Your Stock CPU Cooler"

I went for Thermalright 120-MUX, you may also consider Cooler Master Hyper 212 if you like save $. Have fun with new baby!

  • @MrDeadly0ne

You may consider one between Thermalright 120-MUX, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus and Prolimatech Megahalems Rev. B. All three coolers are rock solid, up to you on $ saving factor. Actually there was a nice review between first and second product but I forgot to bookmark :(

Also, I strongly recommend to go for at least a good DDR3-1600 MHz RAM with 8-8-8-24. I installed 2x4 GB of Corsair because I need Visualization using Parallels and few more memory guzzling requirements.

  • @akula2shark

    Thanks for the info!

I have the same gpu (hd5770) , cpu (Core i7 860) and only 2gbx2 Corsair Dominators. I own a Thermalright True 120 from my previous lga775 but I had no luck getting any adapters for my new board. What's your say about Corsair H50 water cooling kit compared to those air coolers you mentioned? I'm new to the whole water cooling method and some advice would be great. :)

  • @MrDeadly0ne

You are welcome. I run Sapphire ATI 5770 1GB Juniper XT, might add one more card later (not sure coz am not a gaming freak!). So, I invested a little more just to future proof by adding a solid Corsair HX650W PSU and Antec 1200 case. I don't have any water cooling kit, such cooling is not necessary with P55 boards (maybe for X58 extreme boards with 8GB RAM plus and tons of OC). If you do TONs of OC on P55 then Prolimatech is best else choose one from the first two products.

  • @akula2shark

If you don't wanna invest in HX650W then you could buy 550VX or TX (forget), that's more than enough for a single card and OC! For two guzzling cards and OC then HX650W or 650WTX is recommended. Key for maintaining low temp. is a good CPU cooler and a nice case.

Lastly, what is your target usage? Based on that you may add/dump the key components thereby reducing the over all PC cost. Example you should be knowing for picking up i7-860 over i5-750. Hope am understood.

  • 550VX or TX - forgot*

  • @akula2shark

    Thanks again for the info!

I did some research on the Prolimatech, went to a local computer store that had it installed on one of their display PCs and now I am convinced on buying one for my setup instead of watercooling. It will take me a while to get the money, but Im sure it will be worth it.

By the way, I finally uploaded my video for my setup. :)

  • You are welcome again!

Well, very well done by choosing the Prolimatech's CPU cooler. I shall look at your video now and post my comment there. Have fun.

  • I did watch couple of your videos. Style and Voice is good but you suffer with information overload and do present a product in a hurry (as if you going to a board meeting lol). Present correct them, thank you.

  • North bridge?? didnt the P55 remove the need for the north bridge?

dont the1156 processes have the memory controller built in, and dont the pci express bandwidth go directly to the processor now?

  • Yes, Yes, Yes....so what's your question like?

  • in the look, he said it had a north bridge cooler. and if there is no north bridge how is there a north bridge cooler

  • @GEEKinLyfe

There isn't any Northbridge on P55 boards. Core i7 and i5 processors got the memory controller added on to the die. Earlier it was part of the Northbridge. This benefit gives blazing memory performance no matter they are dual channel, also importantly to reduce the over all cost. And, they added 16x PCI 2.0 Express lanes too.

Type in Google "Intel P55 Express Chipset" and click on the "View chipset system diagram" link.

  • I no that.... i knew that the day the P55 chipset came out

why im confused is that, he said there is a north bridge cooler, and there is no north bridge, so what is that cooling??

and its not the south bridge

  • @GEEKinLyfe

That's not a North bridge but looks like one (sort of unique Gigabyte design). Actually, it's a heat sink meant for cooling the Platform Controller Hub or PCH aka your P55 chipset since everything got integrated into that. Hope it's clear now.

  • Thank you, finaly, it took like 3 weeks for the answer, but thank u :D

  • @GEEKinLyfe

You we welcome, actually I couldn't get your doubt correctly. Anyway, have fun :)

  • What does the P in ud4P?

  • its 4,8 Gbps :P

  • if you drank a red bull you'd be crazy !

  • 1:25 multi lingle installation

  • excellent work!

  • I rated this video 5 stars because of 3:41 XD

  • ...are you sitting on carpet when opening that?

  • he is... =P doesn't really matter these days

  • 2:47 笑えるw

  • O.o they olny go to 8x pci xe.... but but..... D= they shuld be both x16..... with the sata3 doesnt seam right D+

    nice board tho

  • it looks like that motherboard also dose crossfire. can anyone confirm this?

  • XD get some sleep!

  • Thats what makes your review's more interesting than others. Who wants to see a robot review a product.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • nice keep the funny videos coming ^^

  • Now all we need are drives that actually max out 1.5gb/s Sata.... no point to even having 6gb/s right now.

  • not true, there was afew(1+ drives) that get bottlenecked by sata 3.0gb/s. intel 25 M 32nm. With 6gb/s you get about 50mb/s higher read and 10mb/s write

  • great mobo, seems the only thing left to jump to the 3.0 number is the PCIe spec. Funny vid though lol, GET SOME SLEEP LINUS XD

  • Nice MOBO! 5/5

  • Comment removed

  • Nice one Linus. Thanks.

  • linus 3.0usb=4.8gb sata 3=6.0gb/s i hope that help you, "am joking" keep the funny video coming

  • i thinkkkk he knows how to use google =P just saying

  • Funny at the end but just want to say I've been subscribing to you since a couple of days and really love your stuff ;>

  • nice job figuring out the 1080p Linus =D

Honestly for AMD users it's probably better to wait for the 890FX chipsets rather than buy the current chipset ones from Gigabyte with SATA6/USB3

  • Wow, it looks like that there are 2 IDE ports on this motherboard... that's rare nowadays.

  • I hear if you are using sata it cuts your pcie to x8 or x4 and x4. is this true?

  • Linus... it's 4.8gbps spec for USB 3.0 lol

  • Great vid Linus. Love your vids mate

  • His hair is gay and ugly

  • yeah

  • Don't be mad UPS is hiring.

  • says a Paul Gilbert fan....

  • you need to do more unboxing vids at night, very funny vid ^^. if you get the asus p7p55d-e boards with usb3 and sata3, it will be really cool if you can compare them short with the gigabyte one, because the implementation of the usb3 and sata3 are different. asus uses a plx chip, which combines the 4 pcie1.0 lanes to 2 pcie2.0 lanes and gigabyte kills 8x lanes from the 16x pcie 2.0 lanes, which comes from the processors, when the usb3 and sata3 is enabled. no sli/crossfire, not really cool.

  • I would love to be getting all that hardware he gets so often. :(

  • new hardware comes so quickly :P I just bought an i5 setup in september.. now sata 3 is out :O and the HD 5870

  • looks like a really nice board.

  • when will they kill PATA, floppy, ps/2, and PCI!

  • i agree, but someone would have fo exaple tv tuner on PCI, PATA is only for optical drives( DVD-s) floppy and ps2 are dead!!!

  • yeah, they take up valuable space, and add to the boards price tag!

  • this is the board I think Im gonna get. good thing I waited.

  • I think linus is on weed.

  • I think he's the owner or what ever, so that would be kind of hard.

  • hmm

  • lol, Linus, are you tired? :D

  • Think so. haha

  • I LOVE asus's board looks, but I like gigabyte's features -_-

  • @Peetah16 totally agree with you -.-

  • wooot

    USB 3.0

  • Hey Linus, Question:

In order to run your Hard Drives at 6GB do you need Sata 3.0 compatible HD's? or will it work with the HD's that are currently available??

  • its backward compatable

  • @Yamcha67 yes you do:D

  • ah ic, thx :]

  • There are no drives, even SSD's that pump data fast enough to even fill a 1.5GB/s connection.

3 is overkill....6 is waaaaaay overkill

  • yeah but if and when they bring out something fastenouf to pump that dam fast. this board will still be all good. kinder thing. the i5 might be getting on the older side by then not sure but yeah some day =D

  • 1st.

but when they do so this boeard will be

    a year older

and that usb 3 is powered from the 2nd PEG

so if u use it your 1st PEG runs at half speed or

    8 Lanes

    2nd.

i wouldnt touch my mainboard like he does - because of electrostatic - even if im grounded :)

  • 1st im waiting for Asus P6X58D Premium

  • me too....but it'll be expensive!

  • Mm i still don't like Gigabyte boards.. They're kinda ugly.

  • Yeah, but they work :D
