  • the shirt reminds me of 2 and a half men lol

  • @charlierulz98 lmbo! right! hahaha

  • why have you put a question mark after he word "dick"? Are you asking for dick?

  • Dont Listen To This. Just Have Fun And You Dont Need To Be A Perfectionist Just Jam Out To Your Favorite Song And HAVE FUN

  • Explained well. Thanks

  • 1. u shouldnt allways play with the click

    2. mirror... if your ego needs that

    3. "I spend a lot of time at the practice pad". we can hear that

By the way, just to clarify for you kids. His practice pad is made out of rubber, which will give you a lot more rebound than a floor tom..

    4. Stick control is not an instrument. In the 2010 we call that a book.

    5. Your hands arent with the click, WTF grips... explanation?

U shouldnt teach anybody anything. Please take that video off the web

  • @MaxJaeger

    1. When doing rudiments and solos, always play with click.

    2. Mirror is for correcting off hand improper stick heights.... obviously... you must have spent hell lots of time playing with a weaker hand since you are one of those who don't correct it via mirror and stick height correcting.

    3. If you grind on the pad long enough, your double strokes and other rudiments should adjust themselves. It is just a matter of having your fingers used to different surfaces.

  • You look funny..=D

  • where can i get a practice pad from??

  • you are ahead of the metronome. AND you use your wrists even when playing with french grip. soooo bad.

    greetings from vienna

  • HELP PLEASE!!!!!! I live on the second floor in an apartment and would love love to practice but can't. What should I do? Should I get the practice pads? Someone please help me OUT!

  • @erniesgirl41

(sorry for the english, its not my mother tong)

You can buy pads for hand and pads for foot, but its not as good as a real drum. You can also buy an electric drumm, for me its the best solution, but its not totally silent, you'll maybe have to make an insulator for vibration.

    Hope it help...

  • @TheNohumanity thanks......how much is the electric drum?

  • @erniesgirl41 It dépend of thé quality: i had one for 300 euros, but its a not a good drum, its just for warm up. I think its necessary to spend at least 700/1000euros for a good one but you CAN buy a low price ans test it to see if its what you Want, personnaly i bough mine on musicstore.

  • @TheNohumanity okay....thanks!

  • I've gotta say I love this dude. Some of his stuff may be basic but for even the most experienced, it's always good to look back at the basics. I always play on a practice pad/pillow, always to a pillow and always to a a metronome, just to keep time and pace where my max speed is. This guy is a great instructor and a great player. WHY ARE YOU ON EXPERT VILLAGE?!

  • faggotttt

  • He's hair is kinda gay.

  • good advice

  • hahahaha....french....germains...and americans...

    very fun.thank's master

  • ha what a clown. horrible technique. first, don't practice snare drum while sitting down. second, you can't practice the set on one practice pad--it does not translate, trust me. third, sloppy stick control. however, stick control is a great book, practicing is important (not necessarily in a mirror, though), and practice padds are a nice thing to have

  • this teacher is really good.

  • terrible

  • no matter what any pseudo-pro say about expert village...this guy knows how to deliver usefull stuff!

  • Wow, I have to say the mirror tip is possibly the greatest advice I've ever heard in regards to playing the drums. Thanks!

  • The Who-my generation Led Zepplin - moby dick

  • 1:46

  • I have no idea how to practice. My whole family is amazing drummers that never practice. We play really well too. If I can think it, I can play it. However, I'm gonna learn how to practice like a pro!

  • @brittisnow I sense a strong aura of sarcaism....

  • Nope :)

  • weed has different affects on people music playing ability. personally i dont like to play the drums while high cuz i become too self conscious and reserved behind a set. but some r the opposite and let their inner musician run wild. its all just personal preference

  • I can't play the guitar at all when I'm drunk or even slightly intoxicated, but I can play the drums better (to a point of course). Experimenting with music and inebriation isn't being a loser, it is helping you to think differently and be more creative.

  • I'm a drummer. This video has lots of excellent advice.

  • Absolutely get that book. Easily the most vital book to any drummer, it's been round forever and its excellent for foundational work.

  • Words of wisdom right here folks

  • "you can feel that... dick, dick, dick"

    hahah

  • fag

  • U cant learn to drum in 1 video.

  • 2:53-2:58 French,German, and American sound alike!

  • lol yeah and you dont really see his hands change much either

  • they are different styles to hold a stick while playing

  • you are right.

  • They aren't really supposed to sound the same, it's for the style of music, what works best.

  • yeah rockband really helps actually if you can play expert really well

alot of ppl think rockband is random shit for the drums but you can actually play the song on real drums if you know the right things to hit

  • rock band actually made me passionate about drumming, and i've bought a drum set. So far i'm doing good for a beginner, and i'm slowly learning more. Starting a band soon, too (:. Rock band isn't Total Shit, but it is still a video game. And you can't start anything by just playing a video game, you have to get out there and Play.

  • You're a step closer though thanks to that game.

  • I need an irl teacher, I don't know how to hold my sticks, I've watched like 5 videos describing match grip but trying it just doesn't feel right.

  • Dude hold your sticks so you feel comfortable with them, but do not try put your thumbs up the sticks facing towards you.

  • you sound like i did as a beginner musician, take it from me. if you learn to play say lead guitar for example, from an irl teacher, you will play like ur irl teacher. if you learn from ur dad, you will play like ur dad, if you teach urself and do what feels comfortable, then you will be your own unique musician, ok? just go with the flow, and smoke some weed.

  • nice man. yeah, weed Does keep the flow. and when you teach yourself, you get your own unique feel and rhythm, also causing Habits that you get used to.

  • @GTKproductionz Or just go with the flow and leave the weed out so that you aren't a loser

  • LOL, Smoking weed is good man.

  • @GTKproductionz Haha, It's such a joke. Whatever.

  • :/ whatever floats your boat man. im not on youtube to argue with people, im here to watch vids :/ and btw, smoking weed isnt a joke. its more complex than one who doesnt smoke it may think.

  • @GTKproductionz More complex? How the fuck is that true? I've smoked. Not one or two times, can you expain what you wrote to me?

  • frank, you are doing very well!

  • An over 4 minute long video from expertvillage?! Wow. I give this video 5 stars just for that fact. Great instruction, too. Very good ideas...

  • that grey book he has in front of him is the bible for all rudiments, great book.

  • good tips..Click & Mirror are Key

  • ugly downstrokes

  • i dont have a drum kit or practice pad but one day i found an old shoe box so i practice on that :D

  • Whatever works!

  • man handle the stix xD lmao!

  • my is calvin and i have useing this very good ck my youtube peartdisicple481

  • Ha Ha uhhhh he said DICK XD

  • I just starting drumming and I have no idea about this guy's skills as a drummer, but he is a great teacher -informative and coherent. Don't knock him.

  • @sophiemolossi He's the best drummer in Austin, Tx. I've taken some lessons from Frank. He's probably the most stylistically flexible drummer I know.

  • @sophiemolossi SAME WITH ME

  • French? German? wha?

  • hello bill gates!

    cool?

  • ¨nice

  • lol that would be bad "if he could be there all the time"

  • true, practice makes perfect

  • wrong, practice makes permanent.

if you practice with bad technique, you play with bad technique.

  • but if you do, you can always practice with a good technique later

  • yeah but it's "better" if you stick to the right ones. :D or at least avoid the ones that don't work.

  • i agree with you. but if you "do" stick to the wrong ones, you can still change

  • agree...100%

  • @primus1273 As my coach said when I did wrestling in high school, "Practice doesn't make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect."

  • can I ask what kind of stand you hooked your metronome to? i have the same kind of metronome, and i think a regular old boom would work.

  • i wanna see a lot of these guys under me post their super expert skills to do a beginner tutorial like this guy. ... No? Nothing yet? Get a life. Stop underminig this guy. He's trying to help beginning level players.

  • Nice video

  • can you tell me how to do 1:12 please im a freaking beginner i also want some tips in playing drums because i really want to try drumming.

  • What are all you pros doing, surfing beginner lessons? When you should be learning how to spell, or stealing purses from defenseless little old ladies. Shut up and practice girls.

  • hi frank... you know there are also very many different styles of quires... your the biggest one

  • sure....

  • this video is soo gay

  • shut the fuck up sucker and do SOMETHING!

  • his first transition from his right hand to left hand on his eight on hand wasn't even...

  • you sound retarted

  • god shut the fuck up and show me something

  • :) ahahahahaa

  • ah yes 8 on hand.....

ive done countless hours of that.

  • thank you im starting a cereer with my band god bless you

  • boring

  • playing on a pillow helps you get faster and improves your wrist

  • great video!!!

  • i have been playing the drums 4 half a year and i wanna know how to get faster HELP!!!!!!!

  • practice what ever you want really slow, for as long as it takes before you dont even have to think about it. And then as you are looping it, increase the speed every two minutes. That is how i practiced when i was just starting off and it really improved my speed.

  • Thanks alot for the videos. They helped alot!

  • you inspired me bro, keep up the video's

  • c pourris !!!!!!

  • hey can pass me some page for practice in my pad, i will buy my drum in a few month thx

  • Yes.

    Stains.

    Perfectly symmetrical stains.

    Makes perfect sense.

... I believe those would be, y'know, designs, blurred by the camera.

  • hahaha good response

  • -.- Morons thought they were stains, wow.

  • maze teacher

  • that's gotta be the most expensive mentronome i've ever seen.

  • It's a Dr. Beat

  • we used a dr. beat in drumline. That noise brings back a lot of memories

  • I LOVE PLAING THE DRUMS

  • its called playing jew

  • PLEASE.... change that shirt. Great vids tho man :)

  • LOL at last someone saw it, this dude wanna look like charlie sheen in two and a half men

  • hahah

  • Nice video

  • dude you have a lot of videos... and I have alfreds drum method..
