  • I'm a guy, be careful... i was noticing a kind of unevenness in my neck larynx and was massaging it side to side and it hurt, i think i pushed it too far to the right just fucking around... a lot of delicate part there that you need to breath, swallow, LIVE etc, don't fuck around there too much just maybe light massage.

  • i have a sore throat for about a week I went to the doctor he gave me some medicines they finished but I'm still sick , also i have no voice because of it.. I'm doing this massage right now.. at 5:09 it hurts so much!!!! should i keep doing that? or i should stop? even when i cough it hurts me right there.. Thanks for the video.. I need to stop complaining!!!

  • I originally searched for "circumlaryngeal massage technique" and your massage popped up. Is this similar to the above? I am certainly going to try this technique, but have read about the CMT and wondered if there was anything different to this demonstration?

    Thanks

  • Great video, thanks for posting! It also made me realize that I should probably get rid of my neckbeard...

  • hi i loved the video i have been having a tight throat feeling for a while and its getting to be to much and i was wondering if this massage would help thanks

  • Thank you for this video. I am 47 years old and have paradoxal vocal fold disfunction. I saw a speech therapist for the first time today and she was telling about massage to ease the tension I hold in my neck. I'd never heard of this before. I was trying to massage my neck along with you and it really did relieve some of the tension! Thanks.

  • I stammer.Will the massage cure my stammer ?

  • @3:22: that's NOT the esophagus that's being pushed, it is the larynx. The part you see move in your throat when you swallow is the anterior portion of the thyroid cartilage. The esophagus is behind the larynx at that point and too deep to manipulate with these massages. Not to diminish the effectiveness, but that's why it's important to be able to talk and breath during this: so you're not choking yourself. You're manipulating your windpipe.

  • Hi thanks a lot for posting this video. (I am woman 53), my thyroid was ok for THS, T3 and T4 one year ago, US ok too. Today as one year ago I see all like enlarged. My question is - did you check on the direction to drain the lymphatic vessels? or is just "relaxing of muscles",(with direction of no concern) I wish I had seen some comment directed to the lymph drainage for then I would know it could be good for my thyroid lymph drainage, any comment? Many thanks (this is my son´s adress, ok.

  • Anterior neck massage is hugely underrated. I need to hit my SCM often, because of reclined laptop use and reading. Many can benefit from this work (on self or by LMT)

    Thanks for posting!

  • it wasn't boring for me...I have lots of tension inmy neck/throat from trying to sing..I will do this now as part of my 'warm-up' - thanks a lot

  • I love this video and your voice. It is so calming. Also the massage works very well too.

  • its really gd video. i like. tq so much. and how about allergi massage points.

    plz show me.

    from malaysia.

  • This is my favorite video on youtube it calms me down when Im stressed. Its just a relaxing video and I want to personal thank the woman in this video. She seems like she is a great teacher or fitness instructor. I wish she post another vid like this.

  • Is there any chance of loosening arterial plaque from the carotids while doing this type of throat massage? I know this technique would probably help release my neck and esophageal trigger points, but I've read that if you have a plaque buildup in your arteries, it could be dangerous to do this. Or, if I can still talk (as you state in the video) does that mean I'm not going deep enough to do any harm? Thanks for the awesome video!

  • By being able to speak while doing the massage indicates the conscious relaxation of the muscles in my neck and throat (i.e. NOT freaking out).

***Please, NEVER massage the carotid arteries, as it can cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure, and even stop the heart from beating***

Overall, the massage in this method targets the muscles, and is light enough to pose minimal risk. The carotid artery is completely avoided, if yo feel a pulse, do not massage it. Thanks!

  • Nice throat there. I have a neck fetish aswell ^^ Maybe you could do another one for the larynx or something...

  • I get requests for that. My current video is of Bodyflow, and when this project is finished I will make more massage videos. thanks for watching! *_*

  • What a great vid. I've always had throat problems, I never thought of massaging. I'm going to try this.

    Thank You for posting.

  • You are welcome. To help, consult anatomy diagrams to know what it is you are feeling in there, and never push into a pulse.

  • Beautiful AND Informative

(The audio was not too bad)

  • No fancy audio, I admit, just threw the camera up for a throat massage. Thx!

  • Very soothing, but someone which such a beautiful throat should have someone to do the job for them. That throat and neck is just gorgeous.

  • I love having someone else do it for me, then I can just relax! I have an athletic build (been in the gym since 10th grade) and study yoga and tai chi, so it keeps things in good form. Thanks! There are a lot of neck fetish people who love this video, and I must admit, I like necks, too.

  • I have received an email thanking me for this comment. I find that very worrying, as it was not me who made the comment. If I am going to be receiving emails meant for somebody else I will unsubscribe.

  • Sorry - my mistake. I thought it was YouTube that was emailing me. I am concerned that your email arrived in my personal email, which i didn't think would happen. Hopefully that address has not been revealed. Nevertheless, thanks for the video and embrace that beautiful neck of yours - I'm sure you've had many compliments about it.

  • I don't know Mr. Chivers1. I don't see addresses, I just reply here on the comments section, and youtube forwards this to you. If you have concerns, contact Youtube. If you didn't make the comment, I wonder who did! But thanks anyway! Namaste.

  • that was amazing

  • Thank You. I try! ;D You should try my spine release techniques!

  • what do u mean

  • Russian Vertebrae Massage. When your spine is outta whack and locked up, releasing the multifidi and rotatores muscles will help it move again. it is amazing to feel the difference when you can move again.

  • Slower is better, right? ;D You should see the hand massage I have...nice finger work, you'll enjoy it in Italy!

    Ciao!

  • so do i have a neckfetish tooooooo

  • To each his own, thanks! :D

  • do you do and types of massage.

  • Necks mostly! People lately are wearing their shoulders as earrings with the stress of economy. Back pain, tandem mirror massage, deep tissues, injury, sports. Going to Thailand this summer for Thai classes! Can't wait!

  • I like this video the girl has a nice neck cool video

  • The girl is actually me, and thanks. I see you have a neck fetish....enjoy. XD

  • youre awesome what part of vegas are you in

  • In Vegas! ;) I manage a spa in the NW side. BTW it's me in the video here!

  • I find this video highly interesting - I wish I could have seen it when the muscles down my throat tightened so badly that it was painful to swallow. Anyway, I'm a big fan of self-massage myself, so thanks for posting this! *Watches* It always amazes me just how many muscles the neck seems to have...

  • Sorry for the delayed response, I truly thought I replied! Anyhoo, you're welcome, and thx for watching! There are indeed a lot more muscles in the throat than one would think. Just look into a Gray's Anatomy book.

  • Your welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing what sorts of videos you'll post next. ^_^

I went and looked in a massage book once while in that section, and it had a picture of the neck muscles. Yup, really a bunch of muscles up there. I've actually never even seen a 'Gray's Anatomy' book around anywhere, though I likely never looked in the right section. o.0 Is it one of the premier anatomy books out there?

  • I wouldn't say Premier, but very dry and accurate, good illustrations and descriptions. Should be able to pick one up at any bookshop for about 12bucks. There are many to choose from, though. Have fun!

  • Wow, I am very intrigued by this, THANK YOU very very much, I found it very enjoyable and informative, kids should be taught this in school! get to know your own body, who'd a thunk it. Thanks so much for the video!

  • You're welcome, and agreed that kids should be taught about bodies, especially their own in every way. Knowing what we're made of is the first step in self care and healing. Self massage is what I teach ALL my clients, and should be a part of every person's daily regimine.

  • What you you do if you have enlarged lymph nodes? Ie they're a bit solid and tight?

Should you continue rubbing a little, or leave them alone? (I'm never sure if I'm hurting or helping when I do this)

  • Lymph drainage techniques use extremely light pressure, as the lymph channels are superficial. I, too, massage my nodes when swollen, use a lymph drainage diagram as a guide and lightly stroke over the nodes to help drainage. My experience has been faster relief from swelling, and wearing a scarf to keep the area warm helps the removal of toxin build-up. Hope you feel better!

  • z'ok then, thanks for the info^^, hope you make more videos

  • well, obviouslyXD, since it's in the area, where the pain is, but what about the specific parts of the neck, that activate relaxation, how do i tell the neccesary parts to massage?

  • Consult Gray's Anatomy at pages 626-27 (diagrams for reference),737,743,755,320,323,328,333-4.

    Call me when done!

  • do you feel comfortable doing this=(?

  • Absolutely. It takes some focus on relaxing the muscles, and sore ones hurt. Among the first things I said was to be comfortable while doing this.Thx.

  • oh, ok then, i forgot about hearing that part in the video^^, but still, i wonder how you could remember the sore parts, of that on the neck?

  • A therapist can take mental notes while working an area, and while doing self massage, we tend to know where it hurts. Pain indicates a need for attention, in many ways. ;P
