  • I love how the tense music stops when river says " I hate you"

  • Doctor Who being meta. I love it.

  • the legs

    the nose

    Mrs Robinson

    poor Rory and Amy

  • "I hate you."

    "No you don't."

    :)

  • From that episode on I liked to think of "Benjamin" as the Doctor's name. And River does call him so in "Let's Kill Hitler" - it's hilariously literary and meta. Love.

  • @LoLapluesch When she said "Hello, Benjamin!" in "Let's Kill Hitler", though, she was talking to the gun.

  • @Nitrinoxus Oh yeah! That's another possibility :)

  • @LoLapluesch I'm pretty sure "Benjamin" refers to the model of gun or the company that made it, but I can't say for certain. All I know is that it was a six-shot revolver-type pistol, and that the Doctor knew River had it from the line "Hello, Benjamin".

  • :D

  • I don't understand, what's so funny about the name Mrs. Robinson?

  • @TheStarbender

Never watched "The Graduate"? Mrs. Robinson (Anne bancroft) seduces Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), who is far younger than her and later falls in love with her daughter. So actually he implies, that she's an old woman that falls in love with a younger (looking) man.

  • If Karen is "The Legs" and Arthur is "The Nose," then Matt would be "The Chin."

  • @Wintermute01001 Alex would be "The Hair"

  • im happy!!! theres gonna be a doctor who chirstmas special and the doctor didnt die yet!

  • rofl

  • when the doctor who movie comes out these 4 should be the first people to be signed for filming straight away fuck all the shit about "starting from scratch" doctor who is bigger than ever with this doctor and companions matt smith is the best doctor of all time karen and arthur are brilliant and alex is amazing no doubt about it so why "start from scratch" when the actors NOW are better than ever before sadly the movie will only be out in about 3/4 years... :(

  • @TheRandomstuff12345 Oh good grief, everyone on Doctor Who World was having a fit about this until the Moff shot it down on Twitter. Someone even said the death curse from Harry Potter (Avada Kadavra!), to which I said "Calm down, Barty." (If you don't get the connection, turn in your Whovian cards immediately)

  • poor river, she´s mrs robinson XDXDXD

  • "Heres to you mr.s robinson"

  • I like how Amy looked down at her legs. lol

  • Love how he managed to insult all of them and gets away with it. :P

  • @aRiversMelody I'm not so sure he insulted Amy... XD

  • 11 seconds :P that's funny

  • This reminds me of a puzzl-

    Whatever. |D

  • I love the Doctor and River together. It's like they're an old married couple and a pair of teenagers just hooking up all at the same time!

  • "I hate you."

    "No you don't."

  • I would have called River "The Hair"

  • @cafejames123456 No you don't (:

  • I love how Amy looks down and Rory frowns at their "codenames"

  • LOL I love how the music just stops as she says "I hate you" - perfect comedy effect.

  • I've never heard of or seen 'The Graduate' and yet I understood the reference.

  • I think Matt Sith is much older than he looks.

His appearance would suggest maybe mid-to-late twenties but his voice, his mannerisms and the way he carries himself seems to suggest someone decades older.

Either that or he's just a very good actor.

I think I'll go for the latter explanation.

  • @TheJboy88 Matt Smith was born 28th October 1982, and was 26 when he was cast as the Doctor. He is the youngest person to be cast in the role, Peter Davison was 29 when he was cast.

  • Don't forget River in Let's Kill Hitler : "Hello Benjamin" !

  • I dont know why its just funny when he calls her miss robinson

  • The Funny bit Is Code Name The Doctor And This Is My Top Propatives The Legs The Nose And Mrs Robinson Oh I Hate You No You Dont

  • @Tyrone3104 thankyou for telling the clip for the deaf

  • Love that the background music stops right after "Mrs. Robinson", lol!

  • I love how Moffat chose the nicknames of Amy and Rory about the little characteristics of Karen and Arthur.

  • @Shomononosh I love that Moffat doesn't ignore their physical features and tailors the dialogue to them individually sometimes. I absolutely adored the earlier reference for Matt about the Easter Island statues too. I died laughing. It's terrible to laugh but he really does look like them.

  • hehehe favorite part :D

  • I'm sorry but EVERYTHING about this scene is PERFECT & PRICELESS!! Love it xD

  • Definitely one of my favorite Doctor Who moments. I'll be doing something, minding my own business, and I'll think of it and actually laugh out loud.

  • I love River's and the Docter's banter. River should just travel with him full time!

  • @MetalHeadMCR lol, i bet she will soon...

  • 4,5,6,7 for all the code names :D

  • @KidTheScene And 8 for I hate you and 9 for no you don't... ADD kicking in :D

  • @rockguitar2012 it's a song he's calling her it for a joke really

  • I don't get the Mrs Robinson bit, can someone enlighten me?

  • @rockguitar2012 Mrs. Robinson is from the movie 'The Graduate'. It's about an older woman that seduces a younger man, thus the reference to River.

  • @blackadder9372 Thanks :) now I know why that line annoyed River so much xD

  • @blackadder9372

here's to you mrs Robinson, jesus loves you more than you will know. ho ho ho.

  • @blackadder9372 And then the ''Hello Benjamin'' bit from LKH was a reference too

  • @blackadder9372 and then in Let's Kill Hitler when she is first River Song she says Hello Benjamin

  • @blackadder9372 I got that reference and I absolutely laughed my ass off. I don't get why so many people give Matt such a hard time. He's brilliant.

  • @blackadder9372

And then Later in the Series, in "Let's Kill Hitler", River (on her first meeting of the Doctor in her point of view) says to the Doctor "Hello Benjamin."

So, It was a joke she knew but the Doctor didn't yet.

    Very Clever Writing, Eh? ;3

  • @blackadder9372 "Hello Benjamin!"

  • @blackadder9372 Then... shouldn't the Doctor be Mrs. Robinson?

  • @Coolpirateprincess I Know Right!

  • LOL LOVE RIVERS REACTION. JUST PRICELESS!!!

  • I love how Amy looks down at her legs there.

  • I bloody love this ;)

  • Hilarious If this is how the rest of the season turns out its gonna be great

  • It's a good job she loves him, if not she might well have ended up killing him.

  • This was my favorite part of this episode. I laughed so hard at River's reaction as well as the Doctor's quick "no you don't."

  • @Coolpirateprincess I like it when she's in the TARDIS saying that, and he's outside going 'No you don't!' He can't even hear her!

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW Hehe I like that as well. :3

  • @Coolpirateprincess Of course David's doctor had a different way of reacting. In 'Forest of the Dead', River says, "I hate you sometimes! And he just goes "I know!"

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW Yes, they were two different Doctors, so they react differently. Either way though I love the Doctor and River.

  • @Coolpirateprincess Me too :D

  • @Coolpirateprincess My fave part was when River said "I hate you." from inside the TARDIS, and the doctor (currently being wrestled to the ground by Nixon's guards) yelled "No, you don't!"

  • River's reaction was priceless. Funniest moment for me since Donna Noble!

  • so funny XD LOL
