@thestriga I totally understand your argument and think your analogy is very good. Certainly any person who feels compelled to undergo a procedure such as this, should not be anything but supported. My only caution as somebody who has had 40 surgeries in roughly 10 years, is that you need to be certain the risk is worth the reward. Complications and infections make most surgery life threatening and I think most surgeons are quick to downplay these risks. But if it's worth it, then go for it.

Transsexualism is a horrifically psychologically traumatic condition to be afflicted with, and I've seen the toll it can take firsthand. If I were in the situation where I wasn't fertile, I would live with it because I know that is how I am and no matter what I attempt, nothing will change me in a positive way. The change is somewhat pointless because of that fact.

@thestriga I totally understand your argument and think your analogy is very good. Certainly any person who feels compelled to undergo a procedure such as this, should not be anything but supported. My only caution as somebody who has had 40 surgeries in roughly 10 years, is that you need to be certain the risk is worth the reward. Complications and infections make most surgery life threatening and I think most surgeons are quick to downplay these risks. But if it's worth it, then go for it.
