  • Where do you purchase your oils from?

  • I got sum black soap my homegurl left me and I use the all in one soap! All one! One love! lol ;)

  • Haven't done it myself yet, but I heard someone say to use mostly Aloe vera juice to melt/liquify the black soap instead of plain distilled water.

  • after doing some research i found that the ideal ph for body and face creams and other products is 5.5 this is considered safest ph.I would advice you to look for 5.5 ph product....this is extremely helpful for me since i had to stop using black soap because it was burning my face which i now know means the ph was too high. thanks for the vid

  • The black soap I have has lime and aloe vera which are acidic so hopefully that balances out :s

  • Where do you buy the PH strips?

  • You can bring the PH down by adding Aoah Vera Juice

  • or possibly hisbiscus?

  • what if you used vinegar or aloe vera juice to dilute it

  • Can you add an citric acid to balance out the ph?

  • Do you know the PH of Shea Butter?

  • try aloe vera juice.... hth

  • You can add the Aloe or Citric Acid and then add vegetable glycerin to keep your hair soft.

  • Yeap, I tested mine also after watching kimmaytube and it was an 8 also. The soap makes my hair sqeaky clean (which I hate), so that's why I tested it.

  • Kimmaytube is a informative woman. Thanks for sharing Gabby!

  • i haven't used black soap in ages. the first time i used it, it tore up my skin - dried it out. i would dilute it with aloe vera juice. may try this myself since i do have the strips

  • Hey, I usually get the Dr. Woods Black Soap and it says that it is PH balanced. Is this good? I haven't tested it with the PH strips though cuz I don't have any. I mix this with water and some oils and my hair never feels stripped. I hope that this is not out of the PH our hair needs.

  • I think the ph for skin should be about 5

  • I haven't had a problem with break outs. I wish I had a way to see what the PH of mine is after adding the "extras" to it.

  • Great video...very informative!

  • Wow that is very good. I'm glad I never used it on my hair. But it actually makes since that it is alkaline considering it is a raw natural product and it is not made from any material that is citrus

  • @emoja30 hey I see I've already commented on this vid. You can add a PH adjuster like lactic orcitric acid to lower the ph but of course add litle buy little while frequently checking the ph

  • Great Video hun and thanks a lot .My face broke out horribly after using the Black soap..I dont use it on my hair. just face and body. So now am not using it on my face but I use it on my body.. So thanks for the info ,I have a lot of it sitting here and I guess I will use it to shower until its done and not putting it on my face ever...Thank you. Very informative and honest...Thanks again.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • good info

  • You can add aloe juice and acv which should drop the pH to 4. I add ACV to my bentonite clay to drop the pH of 10 to pH of 4.

  • thank you for this video very informative.:) I was very curious of the ph of black soap & meant to buy strips a while back . I did not know black soap was high in alkaline. Hopefully soon i will get those strips to test that cleanser.

  • I wonder if you add aloe vera gel to it.

  • You can just use Kimmytube's leav in conditioner recipe which will bring you hair ph back to normal, or you can just spray your hair with Aloe Vera juice! You don't have to stop using the shampoo!

  • @godschildyes I agree. No need to stop using it you just have to make sure that you put something that is ph balanced back on your hair after using the shampoo. Kimmaytubes leave-in is great for this. Or as others have suggested you can add either aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel to the shampoo. Just make sure to add a preservative because the juice/gel will mold if you don't.

  • another fabulous video!

  • As someone else mentioned use a toner for your skin and for hair an AVC rinse to balance the pH. Btw great informative vid...I was having issues with a few break out now I use toner daily...instead of every 5 or so and I've noticed a BIG difference.

  • hello my african sista....this is very informative

    brains and beauty

  • great video, thanks!

  • the skin pH is similar to the hair about 4-5. After I was my face with the blak soap I usually us a pH balanced toner right afterwards. My toner is a homemade concoction of green tea and apple cider vinegar. For more info on how to make this toner go to MoptopMaven channel and search for her video on skincare.

  • @blessednhm

    Great info, thanks!

  • Hi, I really enjoy your videos, they're very helpful and informative. Where would you suggest I shop for raw, unrefined, grade A Shea butter and black soap?

  • Good video, I've always heard that neutral is always good for hair and skin. I don't know for sure though, I didn't know until now that our skin and hair was so acidic! I always thought of a neutral pH as being gentle.

  • good information! I've been meaning to purchase these strips, thanks for reminding me. I haven't used black soap yet because I suspected that the PH would be too high based on so many comments about how well it cleans the face of make up and such...
