Many will never be so fortunate as to receive qualified MLD. The quality of life for those who suffer with this condition unmanaged is nothing short of a truly relentless hell. Inherited or acquired, unmanaged it does steal ALL. It seems the U.S. does less and by far than other developed countries. Somebody tell me WHY people who suffer this torment cannot get diagnosed!
It took me 15 years to get a diagnosis, and I was misdiagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia before I got the right diagnosis... through answered prayer. Whats worse is getting insurance to cover treatment, and the ability to find shoes that fit properly.
@tamerakwist it took me over 15 yrs to get a diagnosis as well, and then i basically diagnosed myself by doing research. once i completed my research i got a referral from my doctor for MLD. After the first 10 days of therapy I got significant results (i had daily MLD for 30 days). Once the 30 days were completed I felt like I had a new lease on life like I could run a marathon lol. My insurance was wonderful and covered everything. I wish I had insurance now. its been 2 yrs since ive had MLD.
