There was no band when it was recorded. Jon was a cutting demos on bits of tapes that were left over in the recording studio he was working at. Runaway is recorded with a group of session guys. The band was put together off the back of Runaway's success.

Tim Pierce is pure genius!! His "Guitarland" CD is so full of ridiculously great guitar work and beautiful tones, it crazy! It took me awhile to get ahold of it ( finally through the kindness of a fellow Pierce fan I got it !)and I still spin it regularly. I would kill to get lesson off this homeboy! His work with Rick Springfield, I heard, was very good, as well... gotta score so of that... hell, even his Xotic pedals clip had great playing and tone! The guy's the real deal!

Looks like a Patrick Eggle to me. Could be a Dano, or a wierd Explorer type as well.
