In the television show Mythbusters episode "The One Inch Punch", the technique was tested quantitatively using a force gauge. For comparison, it was matched against a conventional punch thrown with a full wind-up by Jamie Hyneman. The one inch punch was delivered by Anthony Kelly, a ninjutsu practitioner who had learned the technique from one of Bruce Lee's students. The conventional punch measured 325 pounds of force while the One inch punch measured 153 pounds. So, why would that dude die? lol

@bobenon1 They measured differently on Mythbusters. Nat Geo's Fight Science measured boxers in the 1,000 lb force using crash test dummies. On Stan Lee's Superhumans, the monk Shi Yan Ming put out 780 lbs of force with a regular punch and he also demonstrated the one inch punch. The show didn't site specific numbers but said his one inch punch was greater than his other punches. The tester did say he measured 1.7 VC which was about two times greater than a 30 mph frontal collision at 1 VC.

it sounds like a good story, but anecdotes NEVER = evidence. see "Derren Brown doing 1 inch pucnh without touching the guy" part of the effect is mere suggestion and the "victim" doing a bit of subconscious acting
