  • The Bari solos are peppered with flat notes, detracting from what hes doing. Better sharp than flat, I say....

  • omg omg omg, that solo (which is suppose to be tenor) is suppose to get the rest of the tune pumping!!!!... it didn't at all

  • 9/4 is difficult for many high school jazz bands, so excellent job on that. Flugel should probably have been mic'd and played with more confidence to help the response issues. Lead trumpet, put some fp crescendos on the long notes to make it more energetic in the shout chorus, and release with "hot release" to help your band feel more confident about the end of notes. Practice clarke studies #2 8va and slowly to the top of your range to help with the D's. If they go sharp, finger them open.

  • It's very important when practicing range to practice at least the same amount of time (if not more) in the low (below C) part of the horn and into pedal tones to relax your lips and to make sure you do not damage them. If you start hurting more than the normal being tired, stop and play pedal tones and no more high stuff for the rest of the session.

  • beautiful song

    Thanks!

  • drums sound wrong for the tune. My jazz band won state playing this song.
