Unfortunately the world is just indifferent, everything is left to chance. The good thing is people are intelligent and if we recognize this fact we can change things. I'm confident we'll one day be able to diagnose and treat any illness quickly and cheaply.

@hollyzone I think she may have meant "little" as in "small" or "young" from a doting perspective, not necessarily "younger." But... yeah, that part didn't really make sense. =/

Both the emotional and physical pain must be severe. I applaud her bravery for finding the strength to get through all of it.

That's so sad...about the part where she couldn't get to her hurt daughter. I'm not a mother, but I just felt so bad for her.
