"Home! Sweet Home!" or "Home, Sweet Home" from the opera 'Clari, Maid of Milan' (1823) lyrics by John Howard Payne (1791-1852) music by Sir Henry Rowley Bishop (1786-1855)
joan sang this song in her final appearance in the sydney oper house I wept that this beautiful singer was retiring, her voice was still so splendid rest in peace, we will miss you
It is wonderful how Joan Sutherland was able capture our hearts with this beautiful rendition of an old favourite! Thank God that her singing has been preserved for future generations! Our lives have been blessed by her presence! May she rest in peace!
She did this for an encore one sweet summer night at the Ravinia Festival north of Chicago and you could hear a pin drop. Joan loved life and people and that always rippled through her music. She was the star of the first opera I ever saw, "Lucia," and that night made me an obnoxious opera buff the rest of my life.

I heard Joan in The Royal Albert one Christmas at the end of the sixties singing "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth". Exquisite. I'll never forget it.

静かで穏かな中にも、豊かな情感を込めて歌うとても素晴らしい歌です。多くの歌手が歌う曲ですが、様々の個性が出ていて、聞き比べるのは面白いです。

Interesting.
I never loved life, neither people, neither this stupid, cruel and horrible world.
I wonder if this has been rippling through my music too.
Probably it has.
Thanks for giving me something to think about seriously.

Beautiful Joan, and to think this was the year before her final stage performances! What a gem. What a voice.
Bravo Joan, always.
Sadly missed from the stage.
