Who needs them? Who likes them? What good do they do? Come on... There's wonderful music, wonderfully mixed... And then there's some guy yapping over that great music. I don't get it.

I mean no disrespect. It takes a lot of talent to get up on the stage and bla bla bla for a couple of hours. But I think it's all very annoying.

Perhaps the only MCs who make sense are Conrad and Deeizm. Their vocals usually match the music.

@thighshigh I guess you've never been to raves. The MCs are great live, they pump up the crowd and add energy to the performance. It can really break or make a show live. I agree, recorded it is annoying though.

I have been to raves since 1994. So far Conrad is the only MC who has made me feel comfortable about live vocals.

I saw Darrison with London Elektricity in Edinburgh on Aug 26th. He was good!

I would love to see Deeizm or Fats or Cleveland Watkins one of these days, though. :- ) There's something very catchy about all of them.

But like you said, it's all completely different on a CD.

Some just have shit flow an sound shit, but a good mc that works with the DJ has complete control over the crowd and brings so much energy to the crowd. Especially with darker minimal dnb. An they also shud know wen to stop an let the music shine thru at times aswel. SP, ID, an Stamina always smash it.

I agree. A good MC will complement the DJ, not the other way around. I recently listened to CD2 of Big Bad & Heavy Part Two. That's what I call a prime example of MCing gone horribly wrong. I barely remember any of the tracks. The yakking was so totally annoyingly over the top.
