  • all i can say is that those boy a damn good

  • This is one of my favorite displays of horse-and-stockmanship. The level of communication between these guys and their horses is impressive.

  • @MLCL : oh man, I don't like fanboys .... just show a little more respect here please.

  • That guy that ties him up is very brave,LOL!

  • Any grizzly bears with big paws?

besides bulls and cows, Early Californio vaqueros used to catch grizzly bears and other wild animals for fun and hunting.

  • WOW! Very impressive. I have never seen real cattle work like this done in a competiton. I live on Oahu so there arent many rodeos or cattle events out here. Thanks for posting!!

  • This was great footage of the 2008 Californios. Hope you can capture the 2009 for those of us who can't make it. Buck, Frank, and Jeff are an incredible team!!!!!

  • This video was from 2007 edition.

And sorry, I was there for 2009, but filming was prohibed .....

  • @pounardfr lalalalalalaklalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal

  • these so called "californio" techniques were invented by the Mexican vaqueros--All roping techniques were created and refined by the Mexican vaqueros including the figure 8

  • Yeah well, nobody denied that ...

  • Thanks for posting. :~)

  • You're welcome ! I'll be there again next week ;)

  • Did anyone notice this is a three man team? Doesn't look like the other guys first bull doctoring. If there is a mad bull in the arena, the safest place is on your horse.

  • Yep, this is a three man team, the others are the judges.

  • my father and i can tear down any only both in less time, my father are a header and i am a healer

  • and you're five and your father is your hero ? ;o)

  • So, what do you heal Robert? Are you a faith healer? "Rise bull! And be HEALED by da power of Robertoyat! (( Um, daddy, don't let him go until I get outta da way! )) "

  • Well i apologize my friends i see my comment its offensive for any persons, excuseme this is not my intention, but i think the roping job could be fast for not causing stress in the animals ( the bull in this case), i roping (healing and heading) cows, bulls, donkeys and includes water buffalo (its amazing but i have a special method for this animal) and i drive a trucks.., the freightliner columbia its a very nice truck..., good bye my friends...

  • Can we see video of this? It's hard enough to believe, but frankly, if you're gonna talk smack about a guy like Buck Brannaman, you may be asked to back it up ... so ... let's see your video of you doctoring a bull in less time, and with less stress ... only fair, ya know. ;)

  • Excuseme my friend, but in this moment I don t have a video of my roping s able I hope filming this on the future, and I post a video, in this moment i only work in the trucks, sometimes i see a any classic western, i am a great fan of the duke ( John Wayne), very big and good actor...

  • Fair enough ... post back when you have video ... I can't speak for anyone else, but I would love to see someone who can out-rope Buck Brannaman at a ranch roping in the Bull Doctoring.

  • Buck Brannamans got skill. Keep in mind robertoyat this is done with a riata so its definatly not a speed event. Otherwise those things will snap. A good roper will make rawhide dance as you see in this vid!

  • Well i don t have a intenetion for offensive to the people, but i am like all with high speed, i am a lover for race and motorcycle cars, for me the life its a speed event because is more short like my country s people says "yo no se si mañana regreso vivo a mi casa" "i don t know if tomorrow comeback aliva to my house"

  • Hey don't worry about it. A lot of people like speed roping events. Team roping etc and its a great tradition. The californios is working ranch roping. It is by invitation only and the people who attend are some of the best in the world. It may not be as fast as team roping but those men have skill when it comes to working cows. Myself I am a trainer and I love watching a well broke bridle horse in action.

    Its a thing of beauty.

  • those are not rawhide reatas..that they use on the bulls.

  • Hey, you guys can talk bad about Buck when i see a video you guys taking down a bull that well without any misses.

  • I don't think Buck had the back legs crossed yet. The bull would have probably kicked out of it.

  • I woulda gave them guys a no time for that, I dont know what the hell they were doin there at the end. Those guy's shouldnt have let that bull up with a man on the ground. thought the californios was all about well handling of stock, which they did, and safety, wich they did not have. shoulda been a no time

  • Wow!!! thanks for that.. I was there to see that.. and it was good to see what happened right at the end again.. Buck was pretty lucky .. He had some good men watching his back!!
