Hey kids, let me throw out my problems with the first Edition PS Vita. As of this writing the Vita has in fact FROZEN. No, it is not just in sleep mode. So you smart kids who haven't even picked up a Vita yet, just sit down and listen.

Leaving the machine in sleep mode, the blue light on the button is on, and the power button taped to held does nothing as well. Screen is black and it's just sitting there. PSP use to do something similar early on. But this I can't even remove the battery...

And now for the solution. Turns out you can lay on the power button for an obsurd amount of time, and this does in fact force it down. It will go to a screen that gives you a few extra options other than just restarting. However a simple restart at this time SHOULD work and it has for me.

Still having this issue take place just because it went into sleep mode for a lengthy period should not be happening. And this is AFTER the 1.1 update I ran even before doing much else.

However, at least the unit isn't still in the dire state it was back in japan where you HAD to wait till the damn thing ran out of juice before trying again. It's nice to know that even though Sony still launches hardware with issues, some real solutions to tide it over in the mean time ARE in place thus far. Hold the power button, on top for 15 to 30 seconds, start it back up, and make the needed menu selection choice using the actual buttons. Even tells you to use the buttons so yeah...

It very much feels like a kind of Safe Mode start up screen with no touch screen enabled. Tells you they know for sure things are ganna go wrong, but at least, as said, it's in place and you can go on with your day with your Vita. Still there are a number of oddities that have occurred thus far that will frustrate new users. And with new hardware like this, just about everyone is a new user.

@Mikhaell95 If it's a PSP, or Mini tittle, sure. I will say I'm impressed that I can go to the playstation store and gank all those PSP tittles onto the Vita. I was more thrilled to find out they have portable versions of Armored Core 3, Silent Line, and Last Raven all buyable for playable download.

@cheispoopy I have mine right now. The early launch version. As stated there are some bugs. Namingly around some menu areas. Start up Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, not have yourself signed into the netowrk, and hit the wrong selection, and you will find yourself in an endless cycle of the same few menus no matter what you push. Thankfully you can just back out of the game, choose the other option and then it will work fine. Or just make sure you're signed it.

Probably why it's not fixed yet is they just assumed people would be signed into their account from the get go and never tested the menu to see what would happen the other way around. Expect a patch for UMvsC3 for this alone.

Just like the Sony PSP expect to use headphones for the best effect. Meanwhile, yes, blue tooth IS going to work with this. Rejoice.

@ratchetness Depend on where you live, but in the states you'll be stuck with AT&T and they are extremely limiting and a horrible provider. Personally I'm getting the Wifi only version because pretty much everywhere I go has wifi.

@ratchetness Lol I am a brony, and I think the main advantage they are going for with the 3G is that you can compete with online highscores wherever you are. It wouldn't necessarily be good for online play because 3G is actually kind a slow and you would hit your limit too fast :\
