On the other hand, Kayak DID pull ads because of ratings, and I can respect that. As I said in the video, I don't care if bigots continue shopping at Lowe's. I've seen this show and it sucks; it is boring and has NO entertainment value. Only a fool of a company would waste money, advertising on a show that has no audience. Like ANY big corporation, decisions like this are based on finances, not politics.
When these BLOWHARDS make comparisons to Nazis or Japanese internment camps, it's CLEAR that they haven't got the point. I'm proud to say that, because of that, I'd done maybe 75% of my Christmas shopping at LOWES this year; so THANKS for the idea.

@Martin0Alvarez Actually, Lowe's admitted that they pulled the ads because of the threat of boycott from the FFA. Their decision had nothing to do with ratings. On the other hand, Kayak DID pull ads because of ratings, and I can respect that. As I said in the video, I don't care if bigots continue shopping at Lowe's. I'm not a bigot though, so I've stopped and I encourage other non-bigots to follow suit.

@nahAlban Don't know where you get your info. Lowe's doesn't report monthly sales, they report quarterly, & since December this quarter is not over, those numbers are not actually available. However, they expect earnings for 2011 to be between $1.37 and $1.40 a share, which will be adjusted once they close 20 stores to $1.57 and $1.60 a share. Their sales do represent a 2% to 3% increase over 2010, but there's no indication that this happened in December. In other words, you're a liar.

Lowes has a right to place and remove ads on any TV and Radio show they want.
this group in FLA was not the only reason lowes pulled ads.
Face it, no one knows what happened in the board room. Maybe they saw the sad ratings the show was getting and decided their money could be spent better somewhere else.

@slmwv34 If Lowe's was advertising on a Christian reality show that wasn't otherwise offensive and buckled under to pressure from an atheist group or a Muslim group or any other bigoted group, I'd boycott them for it. Other advertisers - Kayak for example - did stop advertising over ratings and I'm not boycotting them. Lowe's admitted that they pulled their advertising because of FFA. I'm not boycotting to support Islam. I'm boycotting to oppose bigotry.

@Man0ftheMountains So boycotting a business for giving in to extremists... bad. Boycotting the religion of the people who... well it wasn't just them that called for the boycott was it? So boycotting the people of a religion who lost a sponsor because people are upset that the sponsor would give in to extremist... good. Okay.

@Man0ftheMountains I'm not defending Islam. I'm not defending Muslims either directly. I'm defending against religious bigotry - which is the only excuse for the FFA boycott and Lowe's caving in to it. I don't watch TLC either, for pretty much the same reasons as you. Toddlers in Tiaras? Really?

@gamutman did you ever think that perhaps it wasn't just the ffa that convinced Lowes to drop AAM ? I was looking at their ratings today and they are horrible they did not even place in the top 50 cable shows for sunday ,If i owned Lowes i would drop them as well for ratings alone ! also did you not see where sen. lieu Cal.attempted to bully Lowes into re-supporting the show that is wrong by any standard the gov shouldn't blackmail businesses for any reason ! can you say unconstitutional ?

He didn't call for legislation or legal sanctions. And no, Lowe's never said it was about ratings. That never happened.

I'm boycotting in offense of stupid boycotts. You were careful not to say as much, but I suspect that you're okay with FFA's boycott. As 4 u making up for my business, had Lowe's stood up to the FFA's boycott & made that stance public, I'd have bought there exclusively - even things I could get cheaper and easier elsewhere.

I also defend homosexuals, blacks, Christians, women, children, the elderly, and Republicans; all groups to which I do not self-identify. Bigotry is wrong no matter who the target.

Heard an interesting call-in interview on NPR with the director. The poor guy really, he cannot make it right with way too many audiences, because the muslims calling in weren't happy with him either charging him with picking way too westernized and not conservative enough examples.
It's like a This American Life show being boycotted when it discusses a progressive christian family claiming it hides fundamentalism, while conservatives calling in complaining that this doesn't represent them.

The woman on The Anderson Cooper show was ridiculous. Do you really think that there are no extremist outside of the Muslim faith. Wake up and get over yourself lady. Make me comfortable with believing that there are good Muslims out there? She basically asked the Muslim guess to prove to her that all Muslims are not bad. Fuck you!!!
