  • I love this so much - beautiful song and harmonies.. WISH I could see them live

  • wendy's hair.....!!!

  • i wanted to marry Wendy when I was seven. Still crushing. Keep strumming ma'.

  • Prince's sound didn't depend on these 2, remember the majority of his music were songs already written from his earlier years. lis and wendy wrote some songs with him. BUT, he played everything. therefore his sound was purely him. he changed what he wanted to change.

  • damn...i wish Prince would get the Revolutions back together any1? any1?

  • @GeorgeJansen Absolutely!

  • @GeorgeJansen A B S O L U T E L Y.

  • @GeorgeJansen they would've but wendy and lisa rejected. why they did? i don't know. prince and everyone else were up for it but these two.

  • @HypeRhymz The rejected it because Prince wants them first to renounce their lesbianism and Wendy/Lisa said no - as they should.

  • Their contribution to Prince's sound is unmeasurable!

  • Joooe, casi no me acordaba ya de este pedaso de grupo, Wendy & Lisa.

Y que nadie se equivoque, a Prince hace mucho tiempo que no lo aguanto, al igual que a Madonna.

  • someone who knows the chords for this ?

  • Prince may have fired them from the Revolution, but he continued to pay them until they came out with their first album. That included all of the members of the Revolution that left including Dez Dickerson, Brown Mark and Bobby Z. (Not Doctor Fink, he stayed with Prince well the Batman era). Even though Prince hates contracts, he always honors the ones with his bandmates.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan they were never fired, on the last night of the Parade tour, everyone in the Revolution were in a dressing room and stared at each other and said "where do we go from here?" and Prince said "i geuss we've done it all" so all the members said " then it's time to go" and they ended the revolution. THESE WERE LISA COLEMAN'S WORDS EXACTLY!

  • @HypeRhymz My cousin worked for Prince for 20 years and he told me they were fired, so someone's lying. I doubt it was my cousin.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan they were fired u can bet on that

  • @HypeRhymz Furthermore, the reason why they were fired was because they were increasingly becoming unbearable to Prince and bossy which is something he despises. Wendy and Lisa are simply trying to save face because it was an embarrassing situation.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan they were bossy to Prince ? wow, that's a missing link i never heard of. man, why don't they do a full biography of what went down during studio session and rehearsals and stuff. they need to clear these things up for people. thanx for giving me that tip bro.

  • @HypeRhymz No problem, your welcome.

  • @HypeRhymz I forgot to mention that the scenes in "Purple Rain" about the interaction between Wendy, Lisa and Prince when it came to him using their music was pretty much on the mark, except that the song "Purple Rain" was not written by them but Prince only. Did you notice that none of the male members (especially Brown Mark) said much to Prince in the film or dared to rebuke him because in reality the situation was pretty much the same way

  • @kalimaganeshshivan yeah bossy ; ) and also it's very hard to f**k around when your girlfriend's twinsister is in your band(but fired yes)

  • @mare2405 You're absolutely right about that. Wendy was extremely pissed with Prince boning and being engaged to her sister. She didn't even like the fact that Susannah was a member of the organization.

  • *in a stalker voice* Wendy and Susannahhhhh....

  • i just don't give a fuck wheather w&l had an impact on prince or not!

just this recording is heaven for me. seeing them play their wonderful music - whoa!

  • Loved them since the first album, just bought the new one. Warm and amazing performance here, thanks for posting.

  • God Bless Wendy & Lisa & thankyou for your beautifull contribution to music.

  • Just the most beautiful innocent recording. Love it :-)

  • what's the name of the song ?

  • @Silicon1991 strung out

  • @rspexperiment

    Thank u

  • it's a own style- I like this song!!!

  • Too bad they can't get along with Prince or vice versa/whichever it is. They really contriubted to his sound and on his best albums and live performances, especially on Purple Rain and Parade.

  • Prince's sound has been seriously lacking since loosing these two and Eric Leeds

  • hell yeah you are right on point

  • @ms042364 I agree!!

  • @ms042364

The New Power Generation just didn't fit Prince's music. It had a "rapper who couldn't rap" (in the words of one music writer), and Rosie Gaines was more concerned with showing off shouter vocals than being sexy. She tried to upstage Prince rather than support him. As a singer Lisa Coleman didn't have Gaines' belt, but she was VERY erotic.

  • Saw them in 86' Prince & The Revolution -

Amazingly talented... & then saw them 2gether at 'Town & Contry Club' 89'

My Favourite Album of there's is naturaly their first one, unique!

  • same here, too bad I was born in 89. town and country club in mpls?

  • Is prince supposed to be in this video?...where is he?

  • @jayleeds2006 the guy with the wild hair on the drums

  • @2cherylcxko313 lol. prince is not in this video and the "guy" on drums is actually a female. her name is carla azar. i believe she is playing drums with pj harvey at the moment.

  • they r good at the instrument they play but tottally rude comments they made about Prince publicly(especially Wendy) should of kept the comments 2 themselves

  • It goes both ways. Prince had told them to the effect that he would never do anything with them until they renounced their homosexuality. They never did, but they have played and collaborated together since those comments were made. Which proves that if you love each other, you can get past the silliness.

  • Prince is the most multi-talented musician there has ever been,no question, hands down. But he'll never be on the short list for 'Earths most wonderful human being'. He is a total butt monkey and i'd believe everything W&L would ever say about him

  • they still look good and

amazing voices i was such a fan of there's.

  • Brilliant as always! I will b a fan 4 ever. Its like butter baby.

  • The amazing Skeleton Key is on EROICA.

  • wendy and lisa....alllllll respect....

  • this osng is from their eroica album (their best imho) wendy&lisa now do tv music score for "heroes" and other series

  • Hey does anyone out there know where I can find this song to download? Couldn't find it on iTunes.

I assume the name is "Strung out on Love" . I totally love it...Awesome song!

  • you can buy eroica on amazon

  • Thanks, but is it this same studio version?

The one released on the CD is completely

different....faster tempo, not as cool nor as

    passionate!

  • Song is called 'Strung Out' from the Eroica album. the album version is great

  • if someone writes or even think of sheryl crow he will be accursed 'til the 7th generation... hey wait a minute... not me !

  • whoa! never saw this. thanks so much for posting this!!!

    new album is great too!!!

  • How beautiful. Their new album is amazing too. Thanks, ladies, for sharing your amazing talent with us.

  • Where was this? Fantastic!

  • Prince didn't let them get away, if you notices everytime he want to change his sound he changes his members. He gears his member to the sounds that he want.

  • This version is way better than the single.

  • How did Prince let these 2 get away? OMG, they clearly were the driving force behind the Revolution and that sound of Prince recordings in the early - mid 80's.

  • Prince didn't let them get away, if you notices everytime he want to change his sound he changes his members. He gears his member to the sounds that he want.

  • i love these 2 :-)

    i'd love a revolution reunion 2 ;-)

  • Very nice!!

  • So I was named after Wendy..

  • i love this song. it is very peaceful

i love it when lisa and wendy smile

  • Sublime.Just perfectly sublime.(Lisa's smiles too)

  • "Eroica", as in Beethoven's 3rd symphony. I think "Eroica" was Wendy & Lisa's 3rd album. "Eroica" was a beautiful work that never got as much attention as it deserved. Re-release???

  • Comment removed

  • The 1st album (not sure about the name) featured "Waterfalls" & "Sideshow".

The 2nd - "Fruit at the Bottom", featured the hits "Lolly", "Are You My Baby?" and "Satisfaction".

The 3rd album was indeed, "Eroica".

They may be influenced by either Prince or a broader, Minneapolis sound but these two wrote some kickass songs together.

Didn't Wendy write Purple Rain, by the way? Prince should have 'em over on a regular basis... you wanna keep this much talent close to you.

  • wendy did not write purple rain.

  • Lemme get the album... yup, I stand corrected. On the back, it says:

"Produced, Arranged, Composed and Performed by Prince and the Revolution".

    The inlay says:

"All words & music by Prince except 'Computer Blue' written by John L. Nelson, Lisa, Wendy and Prince".

I must have gotten that impression from the movie, somehow...

  • correct. In the movie prince says "this is a song the girls in the band wrote, lisa and wendy" and then he starts purple rain.

  • Thanks. I'll look for the scene here. I mean IF they already haven't pulled the audio out...

    .

  • I like this version better than the erotica CD version- has more feeling slow the CD version is fast

  • great version

  • Wendy & Lisa i miss new stuff of you

  • What is this from? I know it's from the Eroica sessions, but... Was this released? Is this on a specific bootleg? What were they taping for?

  • wendy and lisa Coleman with wendy's twin sister (in the red top) susanah Melvoin. Singing Strung Out from the 1990 album Eroica. A very good album by the way!

  • wHAT'S THE TITTLE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG?

  • Strung Out

  • I just watched this. Never saw it before. I can understand where someone like Prince thought there was some talent here.

  • I WANT TO MAKE LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM!!!

  • I wish I wasn't so busy popping out babies in the 80's and early 90's to miss these amazing musicians.

  • I had a dream back in the 80's, in it I was at a party w/ prince and wendy and lisa, prince was in that purple burnoose he wore back in the day but didnt talk to me and wandered away, I talked to lisa who was cool, but wondering when wendy was going to show up, to talk, then I cant remember, but I guess they made an endelible impression on me to this day.

I hope they continue to blaze the trail.

    many thanks for the upload.

  • Cool dream sequence.

  • They are all beautiful. What a great song. I remember having the biggest crush on Wendy when i was 8. Everytime they would show her in Purple Rain i would blush like crazy. I love her smile. She shows it off alot in the Prince Kiss video. Keep doin' you're thing girls! You sound great!

  • I believe that the backup singer in the red dress is Sussanah Melvoin, the beautiful sister of the beautiful Wendy Melvoin. Prince dated Susannah for quite a long time in the 80's but was unwilling to tie the knot with her.

  • Beautiful song!!

  • One of my favorite songs by Wendy & Lisa.

  • One of my favorite Wendy and Lisa tunes..Lovely!

  • sound like a couple of stray moggies

  • In my very deep mind I was fallen in love with Lisa when I was very young.

  • pouff

  • :-;

  • Do you realy need to go there? They are loved by their fans for their talent.

  • I have Loved Lisa Coleman since I saw the video 1999 with her and JJ intertwined on the keyboard. I think Wendy and Lisa are extrodinary musicians and I love their work....I hope Prince and the both of them get back together.

  • Wow,..what a beautiful song

  • in my very deep mind I was fallen in love with Lisa when a was very young

  • I am a Prince FAN. I am also a Wendy and LISA Fan. I wish they get back together again.

  • I must need to forgetabout it. Good bye. You always have sounded the same. Go play with your camel in princeville, and stay there. You're not needed here in the real world.

  • I think it's funny the demons people show going on in their mind's eye when you just let them. I've never said anything about politics. However now that you bring it up, I think Prince is POINTLESSES POLITICAL. Just ask mister man.

  • I use to think highly of Prince.

That was until one too many bitter dealings with him.

He's not of his "RIGHT" mind. He's a very confuse and lost little man. Sad really. I believe he has greatness deep within. However he's lost it. He's Not what he use to be. That's just facts. Now only the weakminded freaks and those looking to hold on2 their "youth" are fans of his.

  • One of his saddesst lamenesses of recient is to find a new way to manipulate the music indistry system. In his mind he thinks he does it for some rightious reason, but in reality he does it so that he can be on the charts again, and that's the only way he's music finds its way onto the charts. Sad, sad, sad, Prince how far you've fallen. He should have listened to Wendy and Lisa.

  • Oh yeah ! " Your songs doesn't interest anybody but you" - Purple Rain - Prophetic !

  • You've been drinking the purple coolaid I see, and you've been listening to the properganda, the same type of bull that Prince and other fools tell Prince.

  • The worst thing Prince ever did (apart from changing his name to an unpronounceable squiggle) was to let these two go

  • This is real music by real musicians!!! People that are truly connected to the real world, along with the spiritual quests, musicians need others, prince and his one phoney show is a little played out and limited. Wendy & Lisa are NOT influenced by P, if anything the shoe is on the other foot.

  • P may not have influenced them but P discovered them. Lisa came with him back around the album 1999 Wendy as part of the Revolution.

Dont get me wrong, I love them, eroica is one of my all time favorites, but I love the minneapolis era wendy lisa, soul asylum, trip shakespeare, prince, and of course the king of rock for us mid 40 dudes paul westerberg

  • I'm going to have to disagree there. Prince didn't discover shiet. Prince back around that time wasn't even really discovered at that time. I'm going to go out on a limb and say if it wasn't for those two girls. Prince wouldn't be where he is today.

  • You obviously have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

  • Neither do the people who call these two "the Prince girls". As if they had nothing else to offer...

  • The intro made me think of Sometimes It Snows In April, anyways it's great,I wish the girls would release another pop album and do a world tour.

  • Beautiful! By the way was that Susannah,Wendy's sister doing background vocals?

  • do you guys no they worked with seal for awhile

  • Always loved this song. Glad they are still working. Their music for the TV show 'Heroes' is great.

  • wendy and lisa..when are they going to release new material??Heroes is ok for what is but really their forte is songwriting

  • wendy lools STUNNING thanx 4 post

  • as well as Greg Allman's - Come and Go Blues -

  • May I recommend some other recent postings to illuminate that mind of yours a bit further Lrigyttiw, more specific Crosby Stills Nash 'Long Time Gone'

  • This is from the Eroica sessions!

  • oh my god!!! this is as rare as seeing Jesus walk on water!!!

  • where it should be Paul which is on my harddisk ...

  • Thanks 4 W&L -where can I find this? Thank you for a bit of class on the tube-waves.

  • where in the fool did you find this?!!!!
