  • what a song What memories....................

  • I used to have this music book and I remember I randomly sketched some of the words from this song down on one of the pages, and every single time I flipped through and saw those words on that page, I instantly knew it was this song I had been quoting when I wrote it. Which is weird considering that I had the lyrics wrong when I actually wrote them. The words were "Keep your hole open."

  • @NintendoCapriSun Tim what are you still doing up its late you should be in bed mister Xp

  • The song that drove the Summer of '78. I was a young man of 22, lovely young wife, beautiful daughter in her 'terrible twos' (I'd relive those days at the drop of a hat) with a good job and just having moved into our new home. Saturdays by our pool, friends visiting to grill hot dogs and hamburgers and our parents dropping-by to visit with our younger siblings. Those golden days look very good in the rear-view mirror and I wish I had appreciated every one and every thing; more.

  • i was a hard rocker back then..but I always secretly liked this band..they were always tasty.

  • At my my highschool there is a band class. In the class you are split up into your own little rock bands. In my band there is a kid who is learning to play the guitar. Well yesterday he brought his dad, who played the guitar, in to teach the class some cool guitar tricks. DAVE JENKINS walked into the room, and played this song, and many others, for an hour and a half! It turns out the kid in my band was dave jenkins son. That was an amazing day!

  • @megasuperblast you have a band class man you are so lucky.

  • @megasuperblast: Very cool story.

  • @megasuperblast thats so badass..wish i coulda seen that, its like my buddy used to bring his dad to school in like jr high and no one knew who he was..turns out he was the drummer for the black hawks and played tours with other big names..small world huh?

  • first love gone wrong! I was crushed! My best friend said this song would help..it did! And that was 30+ years ago!! Wish there was more music like this!

  • 2 thumbs up:-)

  • I remember this coming out when I was kid (yeah, I'm old and ancient myself) and liking it due to the laid-back,slightly funky and fun, bouncy beat--it reminds of my mother driving me and my brother past the police station just a few miles from where we lived in Michigan back then.

  • OH HELL YES!! Thanks for the post. Good music from a good time...xo

  • @seehound619

No it doesn't say that. He is saying 'keep your HEART open ....'

  • @MyRainbowWolf i figured as much... i just thought i kind of sounded like that...peace.

  • I guess five people didn't find a way. Can't believe anybody could dislike this. The music just floats. Typical of music in late seventies/early eighties. Smooth. Easy.

  • Nicely done! Sweet post.

And it looks like John Oates cheating on Darryl Hall? Uh-oh. ;-)

  • What ever happend to these guys. Really had a great sound

  • This song was playing at the AFEES station as I was signing my enlistment papers for the USAF in 1978...lololol

  • This song is beyond special. A "God Feast" of music, mood, and feelings....;>D

  • ah yes, the golden age of the mustache

  • I remember "borrowing" my brothers ID to sneak in to see these guys at Crabshaw Corners bar in Sacramento, California in 1977 ish. Seen them a dozen times since then, they still tour and are better than ever.

  • now THIS is REAL music...

  • This is great thanks for the great memories. My wife and I bought our first and only stereo system because of this song, $1500 was a lot of money in 1979 and this was the song the salesman kept playing every time we would come back to look. We of course bought the "album" along with the stereo. Still can't believe she let me spend that kind of money! Great memories, thanks again, I will always think of her and smile when I hear this song, I miss her,,,,,,,

  • I looked them up on Wikipedia...never mentioned how they came up witht the name ..no one in the band was ever named Pablo Cruise...???

  • hey bucky its just another time, time to move on...but its okay music...im 46 so i was there i have to remind myself of that..lol...i just think of it like yesterday its still there if u like the music.

  • Thanks... I met Pablo cruise in Chicago in 78...they were a bunch of really nice guys!

  • there is no comparison with modern music, alas the era is gone

  • @rickkmar Couldn't agree with you more. Good music and lyrics that motivate, inspire and have a message

  • Does music get any better than this? NO

  • I drove through the old routes we did in high school yesterday and had this and the other summer 78 tunes playing in my head just like it was yesterday - where did 31 years go?

  • @richm444 I ask myself the same thing! So you are not alone my friend!

  • @richm444 wow - I need to check my math too - 33 years not 31 LoL

  • @richm444 Summer of '78 you say? I know you cranked a little Baker Street!

  • @mikper7 As often as I could possibly listen to it!

  • @mikper7 Rafferty ? of course and many others - the funny thing is that at that time I was all bummed out because my girlfriend dumped me right after I graduated and those songs reminded me of being ditched and I would get depressed. Now I look back, listen and smile at what great times those were when I was 18 and those were my biggest problems that I had to deal with. Wow- anybody find a time machine on the internet yet?

  • @richm444 This is the time machine on the internet :)

  • @richm444 YouTube is your time machine. ;)

  • @richm444 Yeah, I think it's called Youtube:)

  • @richm444 the internet IS the time machine my friend. :)

  • @richm444 I'm right there with ya Bro.

  • I STILL LOVE THIS SONG!! GOOD MEMORIES!! Thank You Pablo Cruise!!

  • this was actually considered disco when it first came out - showing that critics didnt have a clue what dance pop and disco was about in the 70s- they put all songs with a beat in the dance catagory

  • What a great uplifting positive tune. You can`t be unhappy listening to this song.

  • Awesome slideshow to a great summer tune!

  • Hi Karen,Laurie and Marcia. Love you.

  • This was music at it's best!

  • Sex will find a way !

  • I remember this memorable song back when I was about six years old....Love it then, Love it now.

  • wow i know im old now !!!

  • @PhillipGuarachaTv I hear ya! ;)

  • God, what a voice! What an optimistic song! I guess I'm not the only one who thinks this is a great song to play whenever you have a view of water. Keep your heart open!!!!

  • Reminds me of the summers in the 70's. Rolling my hair, putting on make up, just to walk to the corner store. LOL Sitting in the ditch, talking to my girl pals, as we paint our nails. Yes, it was a boring little town, but we stayed out of trouble.

  • lets tone it down eh, we all love music. some music more than others. this song is and will always be great, as will many others, including the wings.

  • Just listen to the words of this great, inspirational song...one of the best ever!!!

  • Dang, this song takes me back...I loved this song!! Today's music doesn't include much of the slow type jams like back then...What a loss...but we still got our oldies:o)

  • Used to take my brothers ID and get into Crabshaw Corners in Sacramento to see these guys back in the day. In 2011 they can still bring it.

  • funny, i love this song and i have the actual album i bought in the late 70's.

  • That's a great point bucky468! The 70's groups had a real soul to their sound..alot of today's stuff is just....souless!

  • I always liked the ambience of this song. A sort of urban decadence, along with a disco beat and a hopeful message of return and ultimate victory. (Just kidding...this shit sucks!)

  • @MrDirtyratmiller I went to the Salem Armory back in the day and saw these gorgeous guys. They were sooooo good.

  • Alternative soft-rock? I call it suicide music! So depressing and sullen. I think it has sort of a sour twang to it. Sure glad a lot of music was made back in the good ole '70s.

  • I have not heard this song for years. Thanks for posting it.

  • I have this classic on 8 track tape and its still great.

  • I need help to find the way.

  • Music is our time machine to better times..

  • @titohuertas Well said.

  • That is High School all over again. Thanks for the upload

  • @benwigginsguitar Yes! I saw those guys at the theme park I worked at, Carowinds, back in the 70's. They put on a good show. High school memories... sigh.

  • "Love Will Find a Way" - this was my summer at the Jersey shore song back in the day. When I hear it, I'm sure I smell Hawaiian Tropic suntan oil and feel the heat of the boardwalk under my feet. Thank you for posting a classic that brings back good memories for me.

  • Yeah...this was REAL music....Long for those days back....Well, at least the music. LOL

  • a favorite i loved this
