Am a Liverpool fan so sad watching this about highbury all the great times for the gooners that they shared through the 93 years just smashed down its just wrong they just could of done something with highbury instead of moving please don't do this to are beloved anfield .
I felt physically sick watching this video, and Im not that type of person. That tells you how sad this whole thing has been, yes the emirates is fantastic, but its not Highbury and never will be. RIP Highbury
if arsenal still had highbury they wouldn't have gone 6 years without a trophy. they had a soul at highbury....at the emirates arsenal are just a good profit making club.
spurs fan here, the loss of Highbury was a tragedy for Arsenal - it was a truly awe inspiring place the soul of AFC and what for?? a few more quid in the kitty and they still hav'nt won anything. Those true Arsenal fans must believe (but will never admit ) that moving to emirates was actually a mistake.....sometimes history, tradition and community is more important than cash. Soon be the same at WHL...just a memory
this video is gut-wrenching. i miss highbury so much. there isnt anything worse than the modern era taking away our footballing treasures, and Highbury was just that. RIP.
At least you've still got the shell of the ground there in some reasonable form.. many of us (I'm a Manchester City fan) return to the sites of our former stomping grounds to find flat earth or retail parks.
i loved highbury. its logical that arsenal moved to a new stadium, but highbury should not have been demolished. Its a piece of beautifull english history.
fucking miss that ground so much only 17 and the new stadium will never take highburys place that was arsenal the new ground is a load of shit bunch of wanker fans go there its to posh that video just brings tears to ur eyes such a good buzz and happy memories there that was arsenals home not the new one just a shame we will never see it again or be there again
I actually found this difficult to watch. I'm pretty young though, I can't even imagine what it must be like for 40, 50, 60 year old Arsenal fans to watch.
i cud of cried watching this so many memories as a kid just doesnt look right seein it gettin demolished and turned in 2 flats i miss it so much every time i go emirates i always take a walk down 2 highbury just 4 the memories :(
Wembley, Highbury, Anfield, Goodison Park... And then? Your History! What a shame! You're becoming yankees! Football(or soccer?) stamius as commercial center with multiplex! I can't believe! Named with sponsor, of course!
im a united fan as well, loved it whenever united played at highbury..the big screen..although emirates has the same big screen but it is not the same..
so sad to see such a good stadium being demolished like that, this is coming from a man utd fan, i used to love Highbury, and the camera angle that they used show in the middle of the pitch was awesome, RIP Highbury, sawly missed
they were going to sell them but they contained something in them that had a small chance of causing health problems to people if they were in an enclosed place, like a house.
on my visit to the ground after the title was won in 2004, an old geezer outside the ground sitting on the porch near where the players come in with their cars at the East stand showed me his fist and grimaced with the lingering taste of victory. He was probably 80+
wow that was an emotional video, thanks for posting it up. I left the country before this all happened so haven't seen the new stadium but i plan to come home soon and I know it's gonna be wierd. I still remember that feeling of coming up the back stairs to the upper north stand and seeing that floodlit pitch for the first time. even though my first seat was one row from the back I still felt like I was right there on the pitch cos the way the stand banked so steeply.
Im a a Liverpool fan and I totally feel for you Gunner fans. On my last trip to the UK in 2004, one memorable thing I did was to visit famous football grounds across the country. I could honestly say, Iam definitely lucky to have been able to visit Highbury and taken pictures of my historical and cultural experience. Im dreading right now for that day when Anfield is going to be teared down. Much respect from a Liverpool fan.
What a great video. I was there that last day. It brings back a lot of emotional memories. I think everyone left the stadium that day with tears welling up. I still think the board make the right decision. Perhaps one day I will be able to buy a flat at Highbury. Oh, by the way, what is this song called and who sang it.
hey mate.... u see, that's bussiness: the new stadium brings more money from tickets, because of it's higher capacity. And HIGHBURY also will bring a bunch of money by constructing block on it's place and selling the flats. It's kind of sad to me as well, but..... the good old spirit of Highbury Stadium is still there, I can feel et everytime I go out of the Arsenal Station....... and it will last forever!
I feel sory for the gooners who live outside the stadium and see this everyday. Ive been to two of the last three games at highbury and really where days i will not forget. Theres something about Highbury which are the stands and their little communities which have now been scattered around the Emirates if not destroyed. Sad :(
But apperently Fat & Orange as arseblog calls them (red and white, that shite company that russian cunt owns) if he gets his way wants it to remain a corporate name...
i miss highbury so many happy memories on that ground but its catapillar turning in to a butterfly from higbury to the emirates the new stadium will give us good memories its a good stadium and it finally feels like home and the memories start this season by winning the title and beating ac milan in 1st leg
Great video mate. I am a bit teary watching it. Theres been some bloody good memories there, but now its time to move on. It is a real shame we werent able to hang on to it and use it as our training facilitie and museum, rather than develop it into apartments and use the profit for a few players who will leave in a few years. R.I.P Highbury 1913 to 2006.
