While it is true that the majority of news stations do lean to the left they try to balance out the stations by leaning so much farther to the right than any other station leans to the left. That's not what they fear. When the invasion took place, most institutions, including the police were dismantled. That led to countless murders, rapes and robberies. So now, it is understandable that some Iraqis are happy to see a uniform. Out of 10, about 7 would want Saddam Hussein back. The American invasion has been a disaster for them. They are resilient and try to do the best they can now but there is no ignoring the fact that they have been decimated.

That's actually not spin, as Penn himself acknowledged this. The Iraqi government spun Sean's visit into propaganda putting on the front page of the Bagdad paper "Sean Penn says there are no WMD's" and when Penn was confronted with that information, Penn himself said "Obviously I never said that. That's just propaganda.
So while I agree with Sean in his argument with O'Reilly, occasionally Bill makes a valid point. He's not nearly as retarded as Glen Beck.

That's not how America works, buddy. As you pointed out yourself, this is a free country. Therefore, both Bill O'Reilly and Sean Penn have an equal right to be here regardless of their views. By the way, there is a wide range of personalities among conservatives, and a lot of them hate the kind of culture and intellectualism you talk about. Similarly, there is a wide range of liberals, and a lot of them love Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, and jazz. These things are not politics-specific.
