@Danbly <_< tracing does make drawing a whole lot easier, but it is also a method used by pretty much ALL great artists. yes it is more impressive to draw by the eye and get very close to correct curves and proportions, but tracing is not a crime. in other words, CHILL THE FUCK OUT. thx... faggot

Drawing is NOT a gift. The more you practice and doodle, the more you're training your hand to put down what your eye and mind tell it to.
You will find yourself doing things easier the more you play with this. For a good breakthrough, see if your library has the book Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain. It's got exercises in it that are fantastic. Read the book and do the exercises as you come to them, you'll be amazed at what 'talent' is in a beginner.

You're right I do believe that. You can't take average Joe off the street and get them to do the same that I do. Sorry to promote myself as arrogant, but I differ from others because I say exactly how it is. There is no sugar coating, you either have it or you don't. Just like people who naturally can play piano without learning notes just by hearing the music and being able to replicate it without instruction.

I never said anything like that, I would love to be as great as Joe Bowler he's a role model for me. I explained the gift concept, you're trying to exagerate who I am. There's really no need to continue this conversation, you're obviously looking for conflict, we're adults you have your opinion and I have mine and we'll leave it at that.
Most people don't do it because they falsely believe it's a gift, when in fact it's an aquired skill. You started what, at the age of two? You probably didn't fully dvelop it until ten years later. That's ten years you had to perfect your drawing. I guess it's just a coincidence that you were both born with the gift to draw AND you started at a very early age.
Actually no, everyone in my class started drawing early because well it was required in my school to draw things for class. Here's a lil info about me, I never started drawing portraits till I graduated from high school, I drew comic cartoons in school. No practice whatsoever in shading or realism. I didn't spend every waking moment drawing as you would like to believe, so the practice was not there. However practicing now does make me better as it naturally should. No rocket science there.

As you all saw, the artist drew the eyes first, the eyes being the windows of the soul. The eyes capture the mood, time frame and personality of the subject. Once you get the eyes right, everything else just falls into place. Congratulations, sir, you did a fine job in capturing the spirit of Sheena.

You can see from the beginning that the paper is indented, like a page on top of this one was traced with lots of pressure. This left indents in the paper, not really too visible unless you look, that makes it easy to trace. Nice try. Can't fool all the people, all the time.
hmm...ur not the first to think like that, indeed i was going thru an outline, but what u dont know and didnt seem to read is that that outline was created from the previous attempt, it says it in the description and video, pay attention, dont act all smart if you miss parts and cant figure them out.
Where exactly does it say this? I too like to FREEHAND, and have been doing it badly for many years now, but I never try to give anyone the impression that I am better than I actually am. It seems you accepted a lot of compliments before my comment, without setting them straight as to the fact that you did indeed trace impressions on the page. Why is that? I am not saying you are without talent. I think you posses more than I will ever have, so why didn't you correct others, when they commented?
cus there were too many out there saying i traced, now i have more time to speak up, or write out..and it says in the description "as for I messed up and almost quit drawing because of my failure" i just pressed too hard on the first one...and just used the outline from the second paper to correct it

Another tip: Try to get used to workable fixative. You can still edit the drawing and add to it, but you won't smudge either.

a helpful hint, when drawing, use rubber gloves so the graphite doesnt stick to ur skin and smudge

nah memorizing is hard..the photo is somewhere there...plus from my previous attempt you can see that some lines were left from my previous sketch....so yea i had pic at side

That is like really good. Didn't u say it took like a hour and 34 min? sumwhere around there I think. NE who I luv to draw. My hobbies are: drawing, singing, dancing, and almost anything that is a sport.(including football 4 those of u who think grls who r petite like me don't play.)

Think of how it must have been for 16th and 17th century artist such as Titian or Van Dyke to do justice to those pasty white faces of Europeans they were commissioned to immortalize.
Art is not easy. I am a musician - if it were easy everyone would be able to do so.
Vocalists come and go but those that play the instruments are the rock.
Superman, Batman and Spiderman were not drawn perfectly - by far. Their images are what sustain them.

Hi, i just came across you video, i'm an artist and I like your shading with the pencil a lot. Do you ever use charcoal in the drawings? I use charcoal because i think it's easier than pencil. Keep up the good work! It's great!

You can see from the beginning that the paper is indented, like a page on top of this one was traced with lots of pressure. This left indents in the paper, not really too visible unless you look, that makes it easy to trace. Nice try. Can't fool all the people, all the time.

hmm...ur not the first to think like that, indeed i was going thru an outline, but what u dont know and didnt seem to read is that that outline was created from the previous attempt, it says it in the description and video, pay attention, dont act all smart if you miss parts and cant figure them out.

Where exactly does it say this? I too like to FREEHAND, and have been doing it badly for many years now, but I never try to give anyone the impression that I am better than I actually am. It seems you accepted a lot of compliments before my comment, without setting them straight as to the fact that you did indeed trace impressions on the page. Why is that? I am not saying you are without talent. I think you posses more than I will ever have, so why didn't you correct others, when they commented?

cus there were too many out there saying i traced, now i have more time to speak up, or write out..and it says in the description "as for I messed up and almost quit drawing because of my failure" i just pressed too hard on the first one...and just used the outline from the second paper to correct it
