i just bought time capsule and no,you don't need a connection to download i have a mac book pro and it did it by it self the only downside is it takes a long time to download a movie or any file that large!!the good thing is that my kids can play the wii on line my wife viewing h er email on her iphone everyone can be on line with wi-fitime capsule great product.
I have FiOS and connect the router using Coax cables and it appears that Time Capsule doesn't support coax. So is my only option connecting the Time Capsule to my router using a gigabit ethernet cable?
don't get in his life, he does whatever the fuck he wants with his hair like Will said on a vid, you don't like it then fuck off, i guess that you said that because you have short and bad hair, haha, get a life!
I love the idea of that, could it also act as a wireless signal extender? (sorry not that good on tech linguo lol) 1TB!!! omfg who needs 1tb? jesus christ lmao
LOL, LMAO, i know, it's quite a lot, but as Apple said they are server grade Hard Drives and if you look at it, they are quite cheap compared to anything else that you can buy since for $299 i get an Airport Extreme Base Station With Wireless N and i also get a huge HDD and you can use it as both
yeah but it has none of the features that time capsule has, for example you get an Airport Extreme Base Station (in other words a Wireless N Router for connecting it through a network) which costs a lot, so the Time Capsule is a great buy
I am purchasing it, consider the future and how often you update routers. This product could be your wireless router for a very long time, when TB becomes the new GB! lol
My first Hard disk was 10 MEGABYTES - makes me laugh when we casually say "yeah - you could have 1.75 TERABYTES" - hahahahaaaaa! - nice video Danny. I think Time Capsule is a great product for regular Joes with two or more Macs - not really for people like you and me, who probably centralize storage on one machine and use TM on it with an external disk anyway. Obviously using a hard-wired external disk will be much faster
nice video danny as usual , i would love timecapsule would be perfect with my macbookpro but i just recently bought a 500gb external drive from pcworld Damn lol
Nice vid, i just bought an external HD and got airport express so if i knew about this earlier i would of been able to save £50 and got a bigger HD and wireless HD at that...bit annoyed but oh well :) Nice product.

Cool Concept. Can I access the Time Capsule remotely over internet from my office 20 miles away? How do I do it?
Thanks Danny, good job.

822.11n? I don't think you need an internet connection to back things up, I'm almost 100 sure but I could be wrong.

Windows can read it as a normal wireless NAT-hardrive. So you will be able to backup windows machines too.
