Their was a study done by BBC where they made a guy drive a car through a course while sober and then while high, and he did better while sober. "Why," you may ask. He went slower. This is something to which I can attest. Whenever I drive after smoking, the gas pedal just seems a lot harder to push down. Yet, I still check my mirrors when changing lanes and do everything else that is expected.

Here is where you draw the line: If a person isn't harming any other person than they can do what ever they want. Pharmaceuticals kill more people than any illegal drug. Marijuana isn't addictive. Heroin is. Unlike heroin, marijuana won't chemically override your free will to stop using it.

The libertarian argument for legalizing drugs says that people should be free to do whatever they want. However, an addicted person is not exactly free.

Therefore, I think you can make a good libertarian argument for legalizing marijuana, but not heroin or crack.

it is great seeing so much good coverage of marijuana by Fox Business news. last week their high noon segments were great. several predicions for the end to the prohibition is near. lets speed up the process. stone as many virgins as you can these upcoming weeks! if not by consuming cannabis, at least educate the on the futility of the war!

Actually, MJ is dangerous if you smoke too much. If you drink too much alcohol, your body will try to throw it back up. MJ, wont. It stays! I know many people who have smoked way too much and as a cause flipped out, hallucinated, and have done acts they were not consciously aware they were doing. MJ reacts differently to different people and depending on the person, can be quite dangerous. If MJ were legal, it would have to be prepared by regulated farmers and should be smoked with a vaporizer.

Dangerous is not the word I would use, exactly. Adverse effects, for sure. That's not deadly though. Alcohol is extremely dangerous and deadly. However, just like alcohol, if it were legal, there would be tighter controls and information about what and how much to smoke (or vaporize). You would know a lot more so it doesn't hurt you. Also, just b/c most people smoke it, rather than vaporize shouldn't stop the discussion of legalization. We can work on making it safer after it's legal.

A small amount of people have problems with it. regulation would help with them. The problems I see is young people, especially 18-25 some of them have undiagnosed schizophrenia and marijuana triggers it and can effect those small numbers. And some do have motivation issues, use it to much. And a few have issues with it and driving. But all those folks? They are using it right now. Regulation & truth, the numbers show it's not big numbers of people. Most are fine with pot vs booze,tobacco, etc?

You can not smoke too much marijuana. It is simply too possible. You cannot kill yourself with it, you cannot smoke yourself crazy, it is absolutely harmless.
