  • what about using it as a xy controller?????????????????? i have a akai-mpd32 i just need to use it as a xy controller with the 2 anolog sticks

  • Awesome!

  • @Weareinsane2 thanks!

  • Hey I need some help. I plug it it work good. The thing is its only recognize "note on" when I press again the button goes "note off" and no sound comes out. i have to press 4 times to sound 2 times. some help?

  • @troncas I think there is an option in DM2MIDI that lets you change how the button reacts. Maybe an option like 'Auto Note Off' ? You may need to change your MIDI Yoke settings... It has been a while since I've used this. good luck!

  • after checked enable midi input In from midi yoke 1 (Active), nothing happened when i press button 1 (midi sign recording is not change to "RED"), mapped input in rejoice. I use Dell Studio T1558 laptop, Win7 OS. So what do i do now?

  • @zzzxskater I cannot help you with Windows 7. Good luck & please share your results

  • @alexriesenbeck :( anyway, thanks a lot for this tutorial.

  • @zzzxskater sorry I can not help, best wishes!

  • Thanks

  • This doesnt work in windows 7, Any one know a program that will do ?

  • but, if i changet the API settings on midi-test from kernel streaming to MME or Direct Music, appear on the imput out to midi yoke 1. Same at the output. but, i push test and, pop-up an error somethink like: "Unespected MIDI data! Recivied CD 19 (program change, channel = 14, Program =25) while expecting FA (start)" I have no idea that means...

  • well...i downloaded that midi-test but it's nothing appear on the midi imput or output even if rejoice is working. at least as far as I know...

  • @alexriesenbeck, No, i don't get MIDI response in Guitar Rig 4. I don't have other instruments. Yes, i mapped the buttons in rejoice, and yes, i have the midiyoke imput selected as a MIDI IN in Guitar Rig 4. But it's not working...

  • @pudiliccosminalex Okay, i sent you a PM link. use that program to check if your Rejoyce is mapped correctly to Midiyoke and that Midiyoke is sending MIDI data as well

  • @alexriesenbeck, I DON"T HAVE the FL studio. My problem it's in GUITAR RIG 4, a software wich it's simulates a guitar amplifier....

  • @insainanimator Thanks for taking the time to be vulgar.. If you don't get it, you were never meant to do it. How about some constructive questions for me to answer? Or on second thought, fuck you instead.

  • @diees yeah i agree :)

  • "Hi...

I have problem with guitar rig 3... I set midi yoke and rejoice but when i go to guitar rig and press any button on joystick its nothing hapens...

Please help... sorry about my english ;)"/ I have the same problem too!. Well it's not part of fl studio, it's some kida guitar software. But it's work on same principles. I set the midiyoke and rejoyce to chanel 1, and then i set from guitar rig imputs midiyoke chanel 1. And it's not simply work. Can you help mee?

  • @pudiliccosminalex Are you getting MIDI response in FL? Do other instruments work with your joystick? Have you mapped the buttons in rejoyce? Do you have the midiyoke input selected as a MIDI IN in FL?

  • shit can't make this work on windows 7, must find a solution, I just ordered a whole bunch of arcade buttons. I'm making a ghetto midifighter

  • @djandy101 that sounds awesome, have you tried changing the compatibility settings?

  • installed both...rejoice lets me add buttons etc...but when i go to fruityloops...it doesnt recognize midyoke in midi settings....what am i doing wrong...?

  • @Thekidmidas i'm not sure, what version of windows do you use?

  • Thanks alot!!! Very useful

  • Help? "Component 'midiio32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

  • @leonidhaimov reinstall MIDIox and restart your computer. Make sure MIDIox works with your system (if its 64-bit)

  • im planning on doing this, im gonna use a USB joystick take it apart, make a button rig and solder the joystick buttons to the rig buttons to make a controller. i have a couple of questions tho... 1. my computer is running windows 7, will that work or do i have to have windows XP? 2. you didnt explain what to do with midi yoke. 3. do i have to map the buttons using rejoice everytime? and do i have to open rejoice and midi yoke everytime to use the usb joystick?

    thank you.

  • I`m having trouble finding midiox in FL Studio MIDI Settings...... please help

  • Hi...

I have problem with guitar rig 3... I set midi yoke and rejoice but when i go to guitar rig and press any button on joystick its nothing hapens...

Please help... sorry about my english ;)

  • @miroslaav10 Sorry, I have never used guitar rig 3. Is that part of FL Studio? Is it a VST instrument being used in FL Studio?

  • @alexriesenbeck now its work greate...

    thx :)

  • @miroslaav10 keep rockin'!

  • This is super cool! Thanks for showing us!

I'm going to see if I can use this to make a DIY electronic drums set super cheap!

Do you know if it would work to solder a piezo transducer to it instead of a push button so that you can get a variable signal? or does this only work with on/off signals?

I'd REALLY like to know. Thanks!

  • @WorshipTheSavior Thanks for watching and I'm interested in what you've got planned... I bet if you set up the transducer and are able to wire it into your rig, you could 'learn' it to use the X/Y controller option in Rejoyce... maybe? Good luck!!

  • after three hours ... your video finally gave me a program that works for getting input into FL :D

  • @blendmaster1024 great!

  • Vielen Dank !!!!

  • @LetsPatrick awesome thank you!

  • @alexriesenbeck

    u awesome to !!!!

  • haha downloaded rejoice longtime ago and forgot about it so I needed to check what it was. today I find this video! just purr-fect!

  • @aNdYmAtTeR great! thanks for checking it out

  • how do i get FL to learn my button commands on this?

  • i dont understand this i downloaded the midiox and rejoice and like i can use rejoice just fine but for some reason i dont know how to use midiox cause it says no midi device is detected

  • rellz helpfull

  • @vstijah glad

  • Thanks for sharing this ! ! ! I too would appreciate a description on how to link XY parameters.

  • Does anyone know of a program like MIdiOx and rejoyce for the Mac???

  • you suck at explaining things. no settings to midi-ox, just run it and that`s it? i`m having trouble finding midi-ox in FL Studio/MIDI Settings

  • How do you assign a joystick? (X-Y commands)

  • hi there last question. just finish downloading FL studio. and i seem get the controllers to work now thanks to your video. ^_^ last question. is there any possibility. that you have another video on how to map the buttons ^_^ i cant seem to get it right. thanx ^_^

  • @balot912 No video for that, but im sure you can figure it out

  • ohh shit. do you need both program? rejoice and midi yok?

  • @balot912 yes

  • is this possible for ableton live?

  • @balot912 not sure, never tried it with ableton.. but the concept is the same.

  • i tried on ableton wont work :(. anyways im planning to buy FL. what version should u think ill get? btw thanx for the tip ^_^

  • I use Cake Walk, MIDI YOKE, I want use my Joystick slider values as modulation wheel values, cant get any ideas! HELP. What tha fuck. I set ReJoice out to Yoke 1 then set route MIDI on MIDI IO Port of my soundcard. Then set input for VST Synth Yoke 1. Still no additinal data recorded!!

  • Looks like ReJoice receive and process data from Stick, and show walues mixed with keyboard midi events:

    Value: 86 Channel: 1 Controller: 7 Data: 3278769 Result: 0

    Value: 14 Channel: 1 Controller: 7 Data: 3278769 Result: 0

    But where do they go????

  • Result: 0

    What is it???

  • does your joystick have a 'mode' selection? my rotary knobs/sticks had to be put in a different mode to respond right.

  • so... this would work with the guitar hero controller?

  • If your guitar hero controller sends data as a game controller then yes, and thats a great use for a GH controller! nice thinkin

  • Thanks for your help by the way~!

I had a feeling this was the problem, PSX to USB converter inbetween. I'll try and gnab a controller of my friend. I'm thinking of a pretty awesome live setup running through the KP3 I'm hopefully getting soon, with a gamepad and a midi keyboard which I already have.

  • It is nice to help someone that can speak legible English and knows what they're asking. :)

I have had no problems using my dual stick 12-button GF gamepad (got it for $9 at walmart). As close to the PSx/Xbox design that I could find. On the other hand, I haven't tried my SNES or N64 adapters with Rejoice.

Let me know if things work out!

  • Pure bred XP, I read everything you said. It's not the problem, I'm just wondering why my controller is being such a b***h. I play N64 games with it, it recognizes continuous input through control panel, but in this retarded software it only registers a few button presses total.

In rejoice my Midi out is Out to Midi Yoke 1

my Route midi is Midi in from midi yoke 1

wouldn't that cause an infinite loop?

might be with fruity loops as well.

  • That sucks, my friend. I am not sure how the software was designed - makes me want to hop in VB and start programming my own! :)

Your MIDI Yoke looks odd, but that's how I have mine set up as well. You are sending information TO the virtual MIDI channel ID #1; and reading/interpreting it FROM channel ID #1.

What kind of controller are you using? Does it pass thru a converter? (i.e. SNES-to-USB or N64-to-USB adapter?)

I want this to work for you, its a lot of fun!

  • haha I have all of this software and am doing everything right but it just doesn't want to work. cool.

each button is recognized in FL once and then it won't work anymore.

  • Sorry, are you using Windows Vista or Windows Seven? Not sure but this software only seems to run on XP.

  • can this software work with a real usb piano keyboard ??

  • if you have a usb/midi keyboard connected to your computer, make sure you have the right drivers for your hardware. This video shows how to use something other than a midi controller in FL.

  • @alexriesenbeck they send me only a usb cable, then i have the driver Prodipe VE and my piano is a prodipe when they say what is your midi no thing appear :S

  • What about the Z axis?

  • depending on your controller, you can configure it

  • hello, i have 2 questions, first, how many buttons can i convert into midi using this program? i read that it was only 4, what if i want to make an 8x8 setup....

also can an external usb numberpad ( the kind they sell for laptops ) work the same way? that would be better for button layout.

thanks so much waiting for reply

  • or maybe even another full keyboard that is usb connected.

also it's not necesary that i have to use it with fl studio.. if it works with other programs like ableton live or anything similar then fine.

i dont have any of these softwares yet ( though i have tried FL, ) but i want to get something that i can make an external controller for...

my ideal goal is a monome like gadget, but that's WAY off budget for me.

so im looking for a quick cheap fix until i get my roots in then i might upgrade

  • i have this on my xp laptop and im using a cheap logitech controller (looks identical to a PS controller) and I can map all buttons using rejoice (about 14 buttons) However, I'm experiencing troubles using midi yoke/rejoice with my vista setup.

  • Sorry, I use XP.

  • what's the status on assigning the analog joystick to do... say, pitch bends?

  • should be able to do it, depends on what type of joystick you have and the data it sends as output

  • I have read a few articles stating it's possible to use midi yoke with vista, but I go to try their ways and something just isn't right. Other people simply say that there isn't a way to use it on vista considering there hasn't been an update since 2007.

  • it helps a lot, thank you a lot.

  • very welcome, come back again

  • alright i figured out what the problem was. you didnt mention that you have to change the Low and High settings in the video. (which it turns out change the actual note that you're playing and the velocity of the hit)

  • hey thanks for the video. i made a lot of progress with my setup from it. but if you could, please check out the video i posted as a response. i have a couple issues that you can hopefully clear up for me. thanks

  • Can i use my mouse as a midi controller (with this software) ? waitin for answer..

  • was wondering the same thing...any news?

  • i was searching a lot.... installing different programs which simulate a mouse as a midi controller... but nothing work... i think coz of my bad knowledge bout usin MIDI devices....

and i think its bad idea... better buy simple midi controller, thats all :)

  • ah shoot. I heard the Touchpad 2 MIDI vst was pretty good, but it doesn't work for FL...eventually i'll end up with a Korg PadKontrol and will be all set.

  • yeah.. i heard about padkontrol... i think its pretty good...

  • do u know how to use the analog pads to controll pitch bending or filter cut or resonance??? btw, thnx 4 the video, it was so usefull to me =)

  • not sure, let me know if you find out!

    and thanks for watchin!

  • can u use a ps3 controller like that

  • thanks,,,i took me like 5 minutes to figure out you need to switch the midi note to "learn" to play them

  • Throw this out to Ronald Jenkees he uses FLs.

  • hes the dude of the keys

  • How do you configure the analog sticks? I get a horrible sound that doesn't stop.

  • Soory man, didn't see the info there.. thanks...

  • The second web is not working.. may you please upload Rejoice somewhere so we all can download it?

  • In order to test the cominication between the game pad and the FLstudio I activated the option that waits for a midi signal to play, you know the one who has a litle keyboard/

wait, en then I pres play on the FLstudio en it waits for me to press the midi controller (game pad) So I press the button (1) and does not start playing. I think in some althougt the midi ligth flash the FLstudio doesn't recognize non midi signal.

  • I gotta runtime error over here...

    SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!!!

  • i got the same thing with me too but i still got it installed

  • wait, i can link my logitech cont to FL and control anything, except FPC. yours looks different from mine. ???

  • Thanks for this great initiative.

I have one problem however. I'm pressing the keys I assigned in fl, but the midi light doesn't go off. Think you can help out, I'd much appreciate it. Does this work for FL7, and do you have any ideas what I might have gotten wrong ? I tried almost everything.

  • I have the same problem.

  • rejoice was not available, nor the link in comments, or the one in the video.

looked around on google, and its nowhere to be found.

  • how do i learn the pad on the fpc the hihat or everythingelse

  • Thanks for the advice, looks like a good program!

  • how is it goin man i got an old keyboard casio with with a midi usb plugin but i cant get it to work in my fruity loops if u can help i would appreciate it thnx roxx

  • if you push F10 in FL you go to midi settings, therell be a midi input menu where you can choose the right controller, then you switch on the enable button and the auto accept thing and if that doesnt work i duno maybe your controller is defective?

  • also with some keyboards you have to turn the outgoing midi control on as a setting

  • w w w . dioramadesign . net/blog/rejoice-midi-software

  • THANK YOU for hosting this file! Nice blog, too.

  • AYe man i tried it and the shit works perfectlyi just gotta get used to that fpc shit and then GRAVY.. but very good tutorial, can you recommend any vst plugins

  • Thanks, I've been looking for a program/plugin to allow me to use my joypad as a drum machine since it's much easier than using my casio midi controller. Hopefully this will work good. Thanks!
