which fruits do you recommend eating and avoiding, as i have started eating only raw and juicing 2 days ago, however i am also consuming all fruits available to me and feel they don't all do me 'good' at this point in time. Thanks in advance :)
though i dont believe that you "cured" yourself and you may have alleviated the symptoms, i do have pcos and this gives me a lot of hope, thanks for your video.
Hello great informative video!! And your website is very good as well, I downloaded your free fruit juices and smoothies. Now I'm a thin pcos and I mean extremely skinny I'm 5"4 106 lbs and I cannot afford to lose weight but I definitely know that raw sounds perfect but can I do it without losing weight??? Do I need to only drink those juices and smoothies all day and no other food? I would love to start the 7 day raw health challenge on feb 20 but I'm scared I'm going to be losing weight .. La
Thanks Natasha, i watched this a year ago and it was the final bit of proof i needed to commit to going raw for 6 months. I never felt better and my symptoms are gone. cheers
Thanks love!! Great video!! My hormones have been messed up since I stopped the pill 2 years ago, I get a period every 2 months now but have gone 6 and 8 month stretches without one.... My doctor said I could go back on the pill to fix it, no thanks!!!! Your advice is much better haha!! :)
I am being investigated for PCOS and I have most of symptoms it seems. My problem is here (I live in Norway) it seems my doctors don't know extremly much of this yet, they were talking about medication but due to Factor V Leiden running in my family (and have also affected me) it leaves me in a bit difficult situation with medications most often being prescribed. I'm thrilled I could find this. Also I wonder, do it have good effect on unwanted hairgrowth? This is something that bothers me alot.
Plastic softners , BPA, etc, act as female hormone, even in tiny amounts. Atrazine, the most widely used weed killer in the U.S., causes aromatase to convert male hormone to female hormone. This is seen now in heavily farmed U.S. waters, like the Potomac River, where long stretches of the river have male bass that are ALL growing egg tissue in their gonads. Women are being systematically poisoned in the U.S., via water, plastic packed foods, and plants that take up atrazine(etc). Eat organic.
That's amazing. Your video really inspired me. I have PCOS.... In the process of changing my life style... Your video was amazing. Thank you for making this. I would love a follow up video of some of the things you eat on your raw food diet. That would be amazing. Thank you again!
I've got PCOS as well. My periods are very rare, the last period i had was about 3 months ago but that was the first one in about 2 years. I can tell this isnt good and am thinking about an all veg diet but im only 16 and my mum will probably say no if i ask.
I am also interested to know if RawRadiantHealth drinks fluoridated or filtered water? It's been suggested that boiling water increases the fluoride toxicity, hence cooking food would increase the fluoride you're taking in. Fluoride has been shown to have a negative effect on thyroid function and interferes with insulin receptors on cell membranes.
Congratulations for curing your pcos! I've always believed it's the lifestyle that causes pcos, not the other way around. It's interesting what you mention about the raw food diet because research (in its baby stages but growing rapidly) is suggesting raw foods (eg cabbage, celery) contain elements that assist in numerous bodily functions, eg cabbage juice healing stomach ulcers. These elements, or vitamins, are often destroyed by cooking. Perhaps ratio of cooked:uncooked food is also important.
@bridestripped you dont do blood tests to see if it's cured. You have an ultrasound. And you can tell if it's cured by what you look like and by the symptoms that she mentioned (weight, hair growth, acne, period problems etc).
damn i got the same thing since i was 17 i have been advised to take the birth control pill so that i could get my period . But im kind of sick of getting the pill every day almost 3 years now ! .. I just started my raw vegan "diet",, im not planning to use it as a diet i want to make it a lifestyle, and if you have been diagnosed to be better by going raw. It onley gives me more hope and inspiration to contineu . i hope i'll get better in due time like you did..thank u so much for posting this!
@RazziaLowne kinda the same as you, only i was taking the pill longer and started when i was younger than you :S it really messed me up. i went off it, started taking natural supplements (look for GLA, it can be found in borage and starflower oil as well as others), went on a diet consiting of fruits, veggies, LOTS of fish (Omega 3 is extremely good for you!) and chicken. Ovaries no more, and my ovarian cyst is gone too :)
I ran out of room, I also want to add that I have lost 21 pounds in that 4 months. Thank you for sharing this. If my progress stalls I will probably take my diet changes further.
I also want to add that I have been pressured by female doctors to take BCP or diabetic medicine and telling me I WILL have cancer if I don't take drugs. Well, look now. I'm doing much better than I ever was on the chemical treatments.
YOU ARE ONTO SOMETHING. I've had PCOS since I was 13. I had a period 2 or 3 times from 2010 to 2011. 4 months ago I gave up all the junk food and started eating fruit and veg. Guess what has happened 4 months in a row?! I know there is something to diet. Maybe I could have had my children naturally if I had eaten better. My 8yo son is now wheat free as are my cousins. I have been cutting wheat out. They key to PCOS is the horrible American diet.
Dear Natasha, disregard all the hate comments..they are programmed to believe there are no cures.. You inspired me and I am doing so much better health wise thank you.. You ROCK!
There are many levels of PCOS. BUT if you don't have the ultrasound showing your Poly-Cystic Ovaries, you cannot say you had PCOS. I am very skeptical of the severity of PCOS experienced here. Acne, oily skin, and ammenoreah (missing periods) are also sighs of anorexia. Gaining weight with PCOS is also a symptom not a cure and a SIGN your PCOS needs endocrine treatment. You gain weight because you are insulin resistant. Try Insulitelabs for something that has treated me and the cause
@MrClouddancing66 You can be diagnosed with PCOS without polycystic ovaries being present. Some women in fact have polycystic ovaires without having PCOS.
Using the Rotterdam definition typically used by doctors the criteria are 1. irregular periods / lack of ovulation, 2. androgen excess (typically indicated by acne, hair loss or excess body hair), and 3. polycystic ovaries detected by ultrasound. To be diagnosed with PCOS any two of the three criteria must be met. (Reference. Wikipedia)
hi! i have pcos, am very thin (a thing cyster!) and i eat a very strict low glycemic diet with no diary. the only sugar i eat is a half teaspoon of palm sugar on steel cut oats. i have been avoiding wheat for years because it aggivates my eczema, but what about gluten-free wheat alternatives like brown rice? brown rice is still very high in a glycemic load. can you speak about this? not all 'whole foods' are good for pcos because they are high on the glycemic index
I make videos here on youtube that are pcos related and I don't know if you'd be interested but you would totally make my day if you checked it out! :)
I've PCOS too but I'm on hormonal therapy... I was getting hair loss because of increased androgen levels so I totally didn't want to become bald so I started medication but medication is also harmful on the long run so I am trying to loose weight and control diet so that I can stay on the lowest medication needed.
-Ovaries normally grow cystic structures called follicles-which is basically the egg being formed, which happens each month. Usually goes back to normal ovarian tissue after egg's released
-so NORMALLY: 1st there is follicle->which matures into->egg-> which gets released into fallopian tube.
-but in PCOS: lots of follicles form->which don't quite reach mature egg form->thus can't be released into fallopian tube
wow all though I don't believe I will ever do completely RAw, I did find many things intros video helpful. thanks. I have pcos for years and trying to conceive with my husband. Its very hard. My weight gain is out of control, my acne is rapid in the last 2 months.I thought i was doing something god buying Ezekial bread, but it has wheat. So Im ging to try to leave that alone. Im worried about the withdrawal symptoms. How did you deal with them?
PCOS does not mean you have cysts on your ovaries. I have it and I dont. Its not even a reproductive disease. It only affects it. Its an endocrine disease. You CANNOT cure it you can only take steps to ease the symptoms. If you quit those steps it would come right back and there for CANNOT be cured. Try studying up on it. Get some facts before you argue with a DOCTOR.
As I read these comments I am in shock.. I mean, who cares if cured her PCOS or is managing it... either way it is a much better situation than it was to begin with. However, I am a believer in healing... I DO believe she healed herself! But as I stated before, whether she manages it well or healed herself.. does it matter if she has rid herself of the symptoms?! She's better... period! Go Natasha!
@GravesHE Many people care she did an excellent job at recording theis video. I don't know if you suffer with any diseases health coverage also health expenses. When consumers can understand his or her disease they spend less money for health coverage.
I agree 100% because now she is avoiding all of the foods that she "can't" eat because of PCOS... She didn't cure herself, just keeping it in submission.
So if the shock absorbers of your car are worn out and your answer to this problem is to simply avoid bumpy roads then it's wrong to say that the car has been fixed while you're driving on a tarmac road. In the same way you can't say you're healed if you have to avoid all these food ingredients that most people have no problem with.
@spottie93 i know, it really is hard. A symptom with mine is acanthesis nigrocans which is like dark flaky skin thats under my arms and on my neck and its really embarrassing especially going through high school and have kids make fun of you, but what i've learned is there is nothing we can do. We have it..end of story. We cant give up and have to inform as many people as possible. My doc told me that girls are being diagnosed younger and younger...keep strong :) I'm here if you need to talk.
obesity-->insulin resistance--> increased circulating insulin-->insulin stimulates theca cells in the ovaries to produce LH--> LH:FSH balance is disrupted-->excess androgen production-->PCOS symptoms
or you can have thin PCOS like me:
normal blood sugar-->extra sensitive theca cells-->little insulin has the same effect
thats why the diet works, limiting insulin spikes is good, but it all depends on how sensitive you are to it, b/c pills work wonders
Had my tubes tied in 2007 through laparoscopy. Thinking nothing else major could happen. 2008 till now cysts balding, pain daily I was diagnosed with PCOS and Adenomyosis a few weeks ago. I am also high risk for cancer because my mom died at 51 from breast cancer and brain cancer she had 10 brain tumors, and bone cancer as well. I just got my BRCA gene Test done just waiting for the results .I have to see an endocrinologist in a few days I am now 29 years old.
I hate taking meds I believe there is a natural way to help every ailment. I suffer from PCOS . So when I talked to my endocrinologist about the natural way of making my PCOS better she said that I have to change my diet to a more natural diet and lose weight because I do suffer from weight problems. I dont think PCOS has a cure but I do think that the symptoms can be subsided by regulating my diet and losing weight and being healthy and I think thats what her message is.
it is unfair and cruel to post videos stating incorrect information about "curing" polycystic ovaries. I hope all viewers consult an OBGYN and/or Endocrinologist for further information.
I'm 15 and was diagnosed with PCOS 9 months ago. I'm really sick of people complaining of how they've been struggling with this for 10 years. We all know PCOS is hard, but teens and adults like me who have just been diagnosed don't need to be told the cons of PCOS. Please don't lose hope. :) I'm going to start this diet, even if it doesnt cure PCOS, it'll make me healthier. Thanks
I Love this video! I have been subscribed to you for awhile now and never watched this video. Last week I was diagnosed with PCOS and have been researching since. I had gone vegan this year and then this throws me for a loop. Thank you for the hope and sharing your story...
I have PCOS and CELIAC DISEASE, the most undiagnosed and easily treated disease that causes stomach problems. PROBIOTICS, GLUTEN FREE AND a SIMPLE BLOOD TEST CAN TELL YOU demand the blood test. Other symptoms under or over weight, various gastric complaints, IBS, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating. Anemia, Crohns, PCOS, gastric ulcers, parasitic infection skin disorders, nerves, numbness in arms and legs: all COULD BE CELIAC!
Bulls**t! You cannot cure Polycystic ovarian syndrom. You can only manage the symptoms. And even some such as myself cannot do that. Ive been struggling with it since I was diagnosed 10 years ago.
@migurl1769 I know you commented two weeks ago, but I still hope you check Youtube, because I need help. I've researched and researched and, I still don't know how PCOS is tested for women. Is there a blood test you have to do? The lady at my clinic suggested I get an ultra-sound but then I read that you don't have to have cysts on your ovaries to have PCOS. Please help.
@DasoPanda Hey, I got diagnosed when i told my doctor my menstrual cycle wasn't regular. They did some blood tests and an ultrasound, and said the likely diagnosis was PCOS. They put me on Birth Control, and Its helped. Talk to your doctor and tell them you think it might be a option. The blood tests were by an endocrinologist. My hormone levels were off and my glucose levels were off. So Blood tests and then if it seems like its PCOS, then an ultrasound. Hope that helps!
@tbforte16002 Thank you so much, tbforte, it did help a lot. That's what I'll tell my doctor when I get a chance to go. I was just very confused about the whole thing. lol Thank you again! I really appreciate it.
@migurl1769 You can cure anything if you know how to. I believe this woman when she says she cured it. You CAN cure it. Diet and exercise does that, it is just that most people are not THAT into sticking with a pure diet.
@migurl1769 WOW! such negativity. How do you know what's possible? Unless your the one that created humans.. I recommend you listen to her and be positive & patient.
@migurl1769 how do you know what can and cannot be done? apparently she cured it if she no longer has cysts on her ovaries. granted, some people with pcos get pregnant, others aren't obese, and many do not have hirsutism. but the underlying factor is that the person has cysts on their ovaries. why else would it be called polycystic ovary syndrome? just because you haven't taken the steps to get rid of it doesn't mean it's impossible that natasha did.
@migurl1769 Hi Mig. Hope you don't mind a reply. You say you cannot manage your symptoms but have you looked into following a low GI diet? There is no indication from your reply so I'm not sure if you have. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and am 38 years old. So, I am just about to start following a low GI diet with moderate exercise (ie 2 or 3 times a week) and will be uploading some videos on here ASAP. Do feel free to follow my progress and drop me a line if you want/need any help or advice
@danibro96 actually I was an extreme swimmer, trained for JO's and everything.. weight gain often is a symptom not a cause of the disease... I couldn't gain weight to save my life, then it suddenly changed gaining lots of weight even though I still was so active, it was because of the hormones were off.
@sarababex well I'm going by what my doctor told me so idc what you say :)
I am slightly overweight, I was always a chunky kid. My doctor said: I may have slight pcos, and as I lose all of the extra weight I will notice my period regulating. I'm done saying what I have to say so bye ~
@danibro96 Hi there well Idc what you have to say also I know my facts and it is clear that you do not also there is no such thing as slight pcos and lossing weight will help you but not cure it. :(
@xxdiogenescynicxx Raw is THE cure for everything isn't it? If you're overweight, raw is the cure. If you have acne, raw can cure it. If you suffer from FOP, raw can cure that too. If you have PCOS, raw can cure that too. If you have marriage problems, even that can be cured with raw foods.....just ask durianriders. Just go raw, it can cure everything...just ask X in the raw food world. They have the answer. If you have the disease they'll cure it. No matter what. Raw is the answer.
@tejo29se I never said that. Of course this isn't a cure for everything but why not eat as healthy as possible? I am not 100% raw anyways, I still eat fish but the vegetables and fruits I consume are raw. I did go on a water fast for a month then transitioned to mostly raw. Within a month I went back to my doctor had blood work done and an ultrasound and I had no more cysts on my ovaries. I'm not saying this will work for everyone but it has worked well for me.
BINGO!!!! It's an auto-immune disorder that screws up your endocrine system that messes up your hormones. I am so grateful you just spelled it out, thank you! there is so much mis-information about it. I'm thinking the thyroid gland-hypothyroidism is involved, others are saying that diabetes is the cause of it.
I have a wicked case of pcos and the endos. I'm underweight, physically active, not a posterchild for diabetes and I still came down with this.
AND TO ANYONE DEALING WITH THESE SYMPTOMS, OR HAS A LOVED ONE DEALING WITH PCOS... DON'T FEEL BAD ABOUT YOURSELVES, DON'T JUDGE... yes I have a bmi of 17 and a long distance runner. I still came down with PCOS. But I have other complications making it difficult to eat. But yes, hypothyroidism IS a major player in this game, obesity is merely a symptom of PCOS. it's like getting bumps with chicken pox. those who judge or say it's in your head are panicking.
congrats, what an inspiring video. umm, I am trying to get into the raw food lifestyle and keep tapering off. how did you begin, and what type of foods did you eat to kick start your lifestyle?
@garrettmaria74: You can get your protein from sea vegi and beans. With GBP it is important to take coQ 10 and Sublingual B-12 - beause with time you will develop cardiac issues and anemia.
@bonbon2sweet Part 1: About a month ago I posted the complete naturopathic regimen for PCOS, Fibroids and Endometriosis as well as female infertility on my channel. The thing is that in order for me to repost a regimen, it has to be under the request of a 4chango subscriber. If you subscribe to the channel just send me a message and I will repost the regimen for about two to three days.
@bonbon2sweet Part 2: Keep in mind that the programs are posted in the comment sections only – this way my subscribers can copy them prior to their removal. As for the fiber question I posted the answer on my channel in the comment section.
@WeiSugarD Natasha is against raw agave syrup but i heard she likes raw cocoa. my opinion honestly its that these are good but only if you eat them in moderation. you dont want to be having that on a daily basis.
@garrettmaria74: I had the regimen post on my channel in the comment section - but in order for me to repost it for three day it can only be done under the request of a subscriber. If you decide to subscribe then just write me and I will repost the naturopathic approach.
This is for all you girls with PCOS I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 by an endocornologist. They told me I would never be able to concieve again after I was 19 they then diagnosed me with endometriosis and told me my odds were about a million to one literally a 1-5% chance well after giving up hope but continueing to take metformin cause I am a type 2 diabetic. I just had given up and was looking into adoption I found out yesterday I am pregnant 2 test confirmed my morning sickness
@crickett85 I hada similar situation. I was missing my menstrals on a regular basis for 3-4 months at a stretch , then i might have it and then again the same situation. To top it I had a broken marriage with a very irregular physical relation. After 5 years of marriage I conceived without any medication, inspite of my PCOS and that too on the 5th day of my menstral bleeding. So those with PCOS, have trust in God and everythign good. The positive vibe helps strangely.
I have PCOS and am slowly trying to go vegetarian and go into raw diet. I've decided that I'm tired of it coming back and the medication was wreaking havoc on my body when on top of it I have anxiety and depression despite it all on a very busy lifestyle and am tired of being dependent on these pills.
I am so glad after all of my days spent googling PCOS i FINALLY typed these 4 horrid letters into YouTube and found you!!
It's like you got in my head and knew exactly the right things to say to get me motivated.
I have done TONS of research on PCOS and came to my own conclusions that I needed to flush the overgrowth of yeast out of my body, so when I saw your video I knew I was on the right track. I want to thank you so much for your positive words and finally: A story with a HAPPY ENDING!!
"A study of female mice is suggesting that ovarian cysts may at least partially be the result of an immune system dysfunction. The gland involved is the thymus gland, which is responsible for the management of major aspects of your immune system. One of the functions of the thymus gland is to produce T-cells, which are white blood cells that help protect you from infection and also perform other important activities.(cont)
@therealcaptobvious the thymus shrinks after infancy and has practically no significgant function in an adult. your t cells are made early on in life. saying that polycystic ovaries are an immune system disorder is simply incorrect. you may be able to state that is a disorder of the endocrine system, or reproductive system by the transitive property but the immune system is a stretch.
Also, it is not possible to cure PCOS, simply reverse it through healthy lifestyle and some medicines.
Seriously! I'm a vegetarian too, and I have stopped eating pasta as much as I used to, especially since I've been in college. I'm going to try this raw foods diet. I am seriously tired of constantly going to the Dr. only to hear that they cannot suggest anything but hormones. 1. I am not overweight--I exercise daily, hit the gym, yoga, etc. 2. I eat fruits and vegetables daily. I've been cutting back on pasta and breads. But 3. still no periods :(
omg .. everything you are saying that happened to you is happening to me now .. I've gone too so many Dr and not once did they mention PCOS. Thank you so much for the info.
This sounds good, and I'm glad that this worked for you and I'm willing to give it a try. However, my main concern is the abnormal hair. IM SOOOOO EMBARRASSED about it and I want to know if your method improves that particular symptom of PCOS??
@lalalaceylue: Beans, but remember that plant foods also have protein in them. Also keep in mind that even protein must be converted to glucose before the body can use it.
I'm one of the thousand women who are afraid of surgery. I really try this. Hope this would work for me. I thought only surgery is the answer of my problem. Thanks for sharing this video. MAY GOD BLESSED YOU....
wow, wheat products make up most of my diet even though I'm vegan and have been learning to introduce more vegetables and fruits. What could you suggest as an alternative to wheat products as they are in practically everything?
@LittleMissMichigan No, she doesn't. Sunken eyes with very apparent dark circles, stringy hair, and a lukewarm complexion don't spell health--they spell deficiency. I have nothing against a raw, nutrient-dense diet, but I'm getting really tired of raw/veg proponents not knowing when to say when; her tired, sickly appearance was the first thing I noticed.
Glutamine, L-Caritene supplement, hint: look for supplements(amino acids can save your life), minerals, or herbs that can past through the blood-brain barrier that balance out the hypothalamus-pituary glands. PCOS is and endocrine imbalance/ also similar to diabetes.

my name is natasha too. I'm 20 and I have PCOS as well. This has really inspired me to consider a raw diet. I've been a vegetarian for 6 years but perhaps a raw diet would be better though Im clueless as to where to begin but thanks for sharing your story :) x

I have pcos... almost rid of it. I'm on a gluten free diet, that made the biggest difference for me out of everything I ever did. I hardly eat grains, just lots of quinoa, and the odd bowl of rice. I eat lots of protein...lots of fruits and veggies of course... haven't done the complete raw thing. I still have glitches with my menstrual cycle, and hair on my chin. I'm young, 25. My weakness is chocolate sweetened with beet sugar. Blackstrap molasses has been a godsend.
blackstrap molasses does something to the ovaries to stop testosterone production or something. On the days I have it, maybe 3 tbs worth, I have no hair on my chin...less hair loss from my head as well. And my acne spots clear up. Just don't overdose with it like I did, haha.. its high in potassium...which can be bad, give you diarrhea, and irregular heartbeats. So don't have 7tbs like I did (5000mg of potassium worth). I'm otherwise sugar/refined grain free.
and peppermint/spearmint tea is amazing as well for ovaries and hair issues. It decreases testosterone, or converts it, or something. Its not very good for men... lol...but its great if you want to zap excess testosterone away on those days you produce too much.
good luck everyone... this pcos thing is something nobody should suffer with in our generation. I believe it is 100% reversible too. And i believe its occurrence is tightly linked with gluten sensitivity, & malabsorption.
I'm glad my information was helpful to you. I have collected information over the past few years with the research I have done with pcos.
I have also used myself as a guinea pig, seeing what works and what doesn't. Its a very invasive and depressing process, haha. But it has gotten me to very good levels of health. And now I know when something doesn't work for me, and when I've been bad and eaten lots of high carbs/sugars I know how it will affect me, and I can't complain.
This article details the effects of gluten on PCOS. I have had very good success in getting gluten out of my life. Its worth a celiac blood test before you go gluten free, to eliminate if you are severely allergic to gluten or not.
Otherwise, the peppermint/blackstrap molasses ideas were hard to find, but if you google them you should come up with good information. They have helped my chin hair considerably.
pcos also stems from insulin resistance, which is why we have so much trouble eating sugar and carbs . . . they entail the production of lots of insulin, and because our cells protect from this excess insulin they become insulin resistance. It is more than likely a genetic inheritance, unless you are the lucky one who has been affected by environmental contaminants and endocrine disruptors.
Mine is genetic.
So I have been controlling it with diabetic based attempts. DCI helps the root cause
so does magnesium, calcium, vitamin D (I take a vitamin with just all three in it). And so does soluble fiber before sugary/high carb meals.
This is what has helped me. I never test as having pcos at the doctors anymore. They sort of look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I have it.
But I'm still insulin resistant, and I still get those nasty chin hairs. So I know I'm not out of the tunnel yet. But soon... I have come a long way from having chills, sweats, cysts, hairloss
The thing is i am regular now....i now know when i'm gonna get my period and my acne has gone away but i'm a lactose intolarnt and i think i will start to go gluten free so i'm starting to think though my PCOS is starting to go away.
I so need help in getting healthy....i'm an insulin resistant and on Metformin but i wanna know how i can reverse this so i can have children in the future.....my boyfriend when he moves here and I want kids in the future.
PCOS isn't autoimmune...it is an endocrine disorder.

which fruits do you recommend eating and avoiding, as i have started eating only raw and juicing 2 days ago, however i am also consuming all fruits available to me and feel they don't all do me 'good' at this point in time. Thanks in advance :)

I really would like to do this. I am a vegetarian, but I have a weakness for carbs.

Did you also have a blood test to confirm you had 'cured' it?
bridestripped 3 months ago
@bridestripped you dont do blood tests to see if it's cured. You have an ultrasound. And you can tell if it's cured by what you look like and by the symptoms that she mentioned (weight, hair growth, acne, period problems etc).
vaypet 2 months ago
@vaypet PCOS is however diagnosed by both a blood test and ultrasound. I guess a combination of both would confirm if it's 'cured'?

damn i got the same thing since i was 17 i have been advised to take the birth control pill so that i could get my period .
RazziaLowne 3 months ago
@RazziaLowne kinda the same as you, only i was taking the pill longer and started when i was younger than you :S it really messed me up. i went off it, started taking natural supplements (look for GLA, it can be found in borage and starflower oil as well as others), went on a diet consiting of fruits, veggies, LOTS of fish (Omega 3 is extremely good for you!) and chicken. Ovaries no more, and my ovarian cyst is gone too :)

MrClouddancing66 4 months ago
@MrClouddancing66 You can be diagnosed with PCOS without polycystic ovaries being present. Some women in fact have polycystic ovaires without having PCOS.
Using the Rotterdam definition typically used by doctors the criteria are 1. irregular periods / lack of ovulation, 2. androgen excess (typically indicated by acne, hair loss or excess body hair), and 3. polycystic ovaries detected by ultrasound. To be diagnosed with PCOS any two of the three criteria must be met. (Reference. Wikipedia)

@MrClouddancing66 Actually, you don't have to have visible cysts on your ovaries to have PCOS.

hi! i have pcos, am very thin (a thing cyster!) and i eat a very strict low glycemic diet with no diary. the only sugar i eat is a half teaspoon of palm sugar on steel cut oats. i have been avoiding wheat for years because it aggivates my eczema, but what about gluten-free wheat alternatives like brown rice? brown rice is still very high in a glycemic load. can you speak about this? not all 'whole foods' are good for pcos because they are high on the glycemic index

-Poly-cystic-ovarian syndrome- poly=multiple, cyst-sac.
-Ovaries normally grow cystic structures called follicles-which is basically the egg being formed, which happens each month. Usually goes back to normal ovarian tissue after egg's released
-so NORMALLY: 1st there is follicle->which matures into->egg-> which gets released into fallopian tube.
-but in PCOS: lots of follicles form->which don't quite reach mature egg form->thus can't be released into fallopian tube

kekedj214 7 months ago

She's better... period! Go Natasha!

@spottie93 i know, it really is hard. gabbsvw 8 months ago
its not auto-immune.... pcos flow chart:
obesity-->insulin resistance--> increased circulating insulin-->insulin stimulates theca cells in the ovaries to produce LH--> LH:FSH balance is disrupted-->excess androgen production-->PCOS symptoms
or you can have thin PCOS like me:
normal blood sugar-->extra sensitive theca cells-->little insulin has the same effect
thats why the diet works, limiting insulin spikes is good, but it all depends on how sensitive you are to it, b/c pills work wonders

@migurl1769 You can cure anything if you know how to. I believe this woman when she says she cured it. You CAN cure it. Diet and exercise does that, it is just that most people are not THAT into sticking with a pure diet.

"A study of female mice is suggesting that ovarian cysts may at least partially be the result of an immune system dysfunction. The gland involved is the thymus gland, which is responsible for the management of major aspects of your immune system. One of the functions of the thymus gland is to produce T-cells, which are white blood cells that help protect you from infection and also perform other important activities.(cont)

therealcaptobvious 1 year ago
@therealcaptobvious the thymus shrinks after infancy and has practically no significgant function in an adult. your t cells are made early on in life. saying that polycystic ovaries are an immune system disorder is simply incorrect. you may be able to state that is a disorder of the endocrine system, or reproductive system by the transitive property but the immune system is a stretch.
Also, it is not possible to cure PCOS, simply reverse it through healthy lifestyle and some medicines.

Beautiful skin and hair :) You look incredibly healthy

So raw food can cure hormonal acne?
LoHeHaPoMaandPr 1 year ago

Hi duhsquared23,
I am wondering where you got all that info from? Do you have any links to more similar info? Thanks for your comments, they are helpful!

Hey Hayley,
I'm glad my information was helpful to you.

DCI helps the root cause
duhsquared23 1 year ago
so does magnesium, calcium, vitamin D (I take a vitamin with just all three in it).
